“How’s your health been lately? Are you okay?” After pausing for a moment, Chris continued, “You look a bit thin. You should eat well and rest properly so that you don’t wear yourself out.”

Ranita felt lucky that she could feel special care from some people.

“It’s fine. I just don’t have much of an appetite, so I haven’t been eating much. I came here today because Kora introduced me to some friends…” Ranita briefly talked about some things and Chris nodded. “Kora and Mrs. Saunders really know their stuff in this area. You can talk to them about it. If there are any financial needs, feel free to ask for help. I might not be able to lend a hand due to my busy work schedule but I can still provide financial assistance.”

Ranita clicked her tongue.

“Tsk tsk! Knowing you capitalists have money!” Ranita glanced at Chris coquettishly with the corners of her eyes raised while her cheeks were sunburned red by the sun rays shining on them; her skin seemed reflective and looked particularly bright and beautiful.

Chris thought that this kind of Ranita was great.

Chris smiled slightly as he saw a peach tree planted in the yard from the corner of his eye and asked, “Do you want to pick some peaches?”

The climate in Kurima was suitable for growing red peaches; there was an empty space in front of Kora’s villa which had been filled with flowers and fruit trees instead of being left vacant. Among which wild roses were sprawling over fences lushly yet vigorously while small chrysanthemums were planted under wall roots blooming white flowers against wind gusts. But what stood out most was that peach tree with its lush branches bearing ripe fruits hanging on them.

From afar one can smell the fragrance of peaches wafting through air currents.

“Can we? When I arrived here earlier, I already saw it. It looks juicy just by looking at it.” As soon as Ranita said this, Chris immediately rolled up his sleeves saying, “I’ll pick them for you.”

Ranita followed him closely behind him.

The big red peaches grew very well; Ranita aimed at one target but couldn’t reach it despite standing on tiptoes as she had expected beforehand…

It was bright red coloration made it appear attractive too!

Ranita thought: This red peach must be very sweet!

“Do you need help?” Standing behind her, Chris had moved closer beside her side. When she turned around after hearing his voice, she found several large ripe peaches already held by Chris’ hands.

Being tall sure has its advantages!

“I can do it myself!” Ranita raised her heels and said, “Although I’m not as tall as you, this is my last stubbornness!”

Chris chuckled softly and looked down at her.

Ranita had a heroic appearance. She looked serious when she was working, but when she smiled, her eyes curved like a crescent moon hanging in the sky.

The Stuart family didn’t like her because of Shannon’s dislike for her and also because they looked down on Ranita’s background. But in Chris’ eyes, Ranita was educated and talented with good manners and a broad perspective that wasn’t inferior to those rich families’ daughters.

Chris suddenly felt attracted to her.

“Why are you looking at me like that?” Ranita glanced at him from the corner of her eye while touching the big red peach with joyous laughter showing off white teeth.

“Ah!” She was happy one moment but then became sad the next!

“Be careful!” Fortunately, Chris acted quickly by catching hold of her before she fell into his arms. Although Ranita bumped into his shoulder and stumbled underfoot, she managed to stabilize herself eventually.

“Are you okay?”

“I’m fine…” Ranita shook her head. Just as she wanted to distance herself from Chris, an eerie voice came, “Ranita! Are you okay? I never thought your relationship with Chris would be so good!”
