Chapter 110 Even If You Die, You’ll Still Be My Ghost!
Xander motioned for her to come closer and whispered in her ear. Elara’s eyes sparkled with brilliance as she listened. After Xander finished speaking, she replied, “I understand.”
“But don’t get any ideas, okay?” Xander warned.
Elara nodded obediently, “I understand.”
Later that night, after confirming that Elijah had returned to the villa, Xander informed Elara.
At the villa, Freya was nestled on the sofa, reading a book. When Elijah returned, she seemed to ignore him. But her heart wasn’t in the book. She wondered how Elijah, with other women, could still act like he liked her.
Were all men so thoughtless, whether they liked someone or not?
She thought Elijah forced her that night because of his excessive anger, but now it seemed he was no exception. All men liked various beautiful women.
Elijah casually tossed his coat on the sofa and stood by the table, watching her.
“Do you have anything to say to me?” he asked.
Freya pulled her gaze from the book, looked at him, smiled, and said, “No.”
Even though her heart was not as calm as it seemed on the surface, she masked herself perfectly to avoid tripping over her emotions in front of Elijah. If she cried and made a scene again, wouldn’t it show that she cared too much about him? Even if she did care, she wouldn’t let it show. Elijah wasn’t worth it!
Elijah pursed his lips tightly, his gaze fixed on her. Was this woman really so cold-hearted?
They had been open and honest with each other.
Yet, she remained so icy.
He, in a fit of irritation, yanked off his tie, throwing it on Freya like a child throwing a tantrum.
“You heartless woman!”
After saying this, he stormed upstairs. Freya found his behavior amusing and perplexing at the same time.
Why was he upset while working with beautiful women surrounded him?
Did he want to show his feelings in front of her again?
This time, she wouldn’t be fooled!
“Elijah, do you know how hypocritical you are?” she sneered.Content © NôvelDrama.Org 2024.
Elijah halted his steps.
Freya spoke up again.
“You refuse to divorce me, claiming you like me. Then, in the blink of an eye, you’re hugging another woman. Is this your way of deceiving people?”
Was she jealous?
Elijah suppressed his excitement and descended the stairs.
It seemed that he couldn’t hide his joy, and his eyebrows and eyes betrayed his elation.
“Are you angry?” he asked, his tone light.
Freya wouldn’t fall for any of his tricks again. Coldly, she said, “Angry? Why should I be angry? I hope you have many, many other women outside. That way, you can divorce me faster and not drag me along.”
Elijah’s delighted expression slowly faded, replaced by disappointment, even anger.
“Linda, leave!” Elijah ordered in a low voice.
Linda lowered her head and exited the villa.
Freya became cautious. “What do you want now?”
Elijah sneered, “What do you think I’ll do?”
Freya didn’t know. But it certainly wouldn’t be anything good. The last time he got angry, she ended up with a broken leg. Now that she had just recovered, she didn’t want to get hurt again!
She got off the sofa and stood to the side. “Elijah, you always bully a woman. What’s the matter? What do you want?”
“Divorce?” he spat out the word with disdain. “Impossible in this lifetime. Even if you die, you’ll still be my ghost!”
Freya was also angered. She wanted to let go of her hatred, be honest with him, but he had other women. That made her feel foolish for almost believing his false affection.
“Fine, tomorrow I’ll go out and publicize that I’m your wife. I’ll even cuckold you more and have various men, maybe even give birth to other men’s children. I’ll disgust you to death!”
Elijah was almost breathless with anger.
She infuriated him.
“Do you dare?!”
“Watch me!” Freya’s tone was resolute.
Elijah took a deep breath and calmed down for a moment. “You’re impossible.”
“Sir, there is a Miss Montague here to see you,” Linda knocked on the door.
Freya immediately looked towards the door.
Miss Montague?
Elijah frowned. Didn’t Xander handle this?
How could she appear?
“I won’t see her!” Elijah coldly refused.
Elara had reached the door. She probably heard Elijah’s voice but didn’t back down. Instead, she said, “I’ve come to deliver some documents.”
Elijah furrowed his brow.
Freya thought Elijah’s current dilemma was all an act.
He hugged that woman, and now he was pretending to set boundaries again.
She really wanted to say, “You’re really good at pretending!”
“Linda, let her in,” Freya made the decision for Elijah.
Linda opened the door, and Elara walked in. Judging by her appearance, she had intentionally dressed up. Her clothes were changed, and her makeup was more refined. Freya looked at her and then at herself. Her clothes were wrinkled from lounging on the sofa, and her hair was in disarray. She was barefaced. In contrast, Elara was immaculate. It seemed that Elijah being with her was not accidental. She indeed had the capital to attract men.
In front of Elara, Freya felt somewhat disheveled. She picked up her book, ready to escape.
“You should have work to discuss. I’ll go upstairs first and not disturb you.” Said Freya.
As she passed by Elijah, Elijah grabbed her wrist.
Elijah thought it was Xander’s bad idea.
If he Made Freya misunderstand, wouldn’t she get further away from him?
Besides, Elijah didn’t like having contact with a stranger, especially one who was making him sick and annoyed.
“You won’t disturb us,” Elijah said.
Freya leaned close to his ear, her voice cold and tinged with mockery or jealousy, “I’m here. How can you hug her?”
Elijah’s eyes lowered, his tone low, “Are you jealous?”
Freya refused to admit, “No.”
Elijah suddenly realized. Was her sarcastic talk earlier because she saw him upstairs with Elara, making her angry?
His mood improved slightly, and he suppressed his smile. “If you say no, then no.”
His attitude confused Freya.
How could his temper be so unpredictable?
Elara stood there, feeling like an outsider. She intentionally tried to draw attention but was being ignored by Elijah as if she didn’t exist. She spoke up, trying to get noticed, “Mr Silverton, the documents.”
Elijah coldly said, “Put them on the table, you can leave.”
“Okay.” with that, Elara placed the documents on the table. Then, she said, “Are you still coming to the hotel with me tonight?”
As soon as she said this, Elijah’s face turned dark.
