Chapter 1259 The Agony
Chapter 1259 The Agony
"How dare you defy us? You're playing with fire!"
The Underworld Reaper dressed in black was infuriated. His scarlet tongue snaked out of his mouth,
and to Jenifer's horror, flew straight at her. Before she could even process what was happening, his
tongue was wrapped around her neck.
"Ah..."
Jenifer's hands flew to her neck, and she struggled to dislodge the tongue so that she could breathe.
Simultaneously, she wanted to retch. The disgustingly slimy tongue wrapped around her neck, left her
feeling sick to her stomach.
The Underworld Reaper in black used his strength to dangle her mid-air before releasing her abruptly.
She fell to the ground, breaking her leg bones.
"Going forward, you'd better behave yourself, or I'll give you a hard time," the Underworld Reaper
snapped.
He then threw an iron chain and hooked it to her collarbones.
Jenifer had lost all her god's power, and the sharp pain from her broken legs sapped her of her
strength. She could only cry in silence.
The two Underworld Reapers continued to move forward, dragging Jenifer and the other two along.
On the way, all kinds of pitiful wails and cries could be heard. Jenifer trembled as she staggered along.
After a long time, the group reached a bridge, which crossed over a blood river. The Underworld
Reapers stopped in front of it.
"Your Grace, we've been ordered to bring these people back. Please allow us to borrow your bridge.
Thank you."
The Underworld Reapers knelt and kowtowed three times. They murmured some incantations before
continuing forward onto the bridge.
In front, the dim blue light became thicker and thicker, and a house made of paper stood not far away.
Jenifer and the other two were dragged into the house.
By now, the combination of fear and agony caused Jenifer almost to lose consciousness.
Donovan also appeared half-unconscious. He, too, was suffering and crying. The Rule Soul Avatar
remained motionless as if he were a corpse.
"Your Majesty, here they are," the Underworld Reapers reported.
In the dark hall sat a middle-aged man in a black official cap and uniform.
"Good job. Go and get your reward."
"My pleasure, Your Majesty."
Then the Underworld Reapers left. The middle-aged man stood, approached the three prisoners, and
walked around them. He was inspecting them.
"I didn't expect that I, the Reincarnation Emperor, would get such a good deal," he said with a sinister
smile.
"It's a pity that this one's eyes exploded. Edmond is really annoying!" he murmured.
"Guards, send these two to hell."
The Reincarnation Emperor ordered his guards to take the Rule Soul Avatar and Jenifer away but
leaving Donovan with him.
"Reincarnation Emperor, are you sure this is the son of a supreme god?"
A man in armor wielding a long spear stepped out of the dark.
"Of course, I am sure. How can anything in this world escape me?" said the Reincarnation Emperor,
holding his head high.
"Right. Although you don't have any other talent, you're quite good at eavesdropping others' inner
thoughts. I admire your skill," the man teased.
"Show some respect to your elder, Homer Huang. You are becoming more and more insolent. How can
you talk to me like that?" The Reincarnation Emperor was displeased.
"You forget that I was promoted to an emperor position three months ago. We're on the same level
now. I don't have to use honorifics with you," Homer Huang sneered.
"How ungrateful! If I hadn't cultivated you, you would not have become an emperor. Remember that I
can destroy you just as I cultivated you. Behave yourself," the Reincarnation Emperor warned.
"Ha-ha. I'm just joking, My Lord. Don't take my playfulness so seriously. Let's get down to business.
When are you going to hand him over to Lord Yama? And what are you going to do with the other
two?" asked Homer Huang.
"I can make decisions at my leisure. I have made such a great contribution, and I believe that Yama will
soon give me a promotion. So, you'd better not be arrogant. If you don't listen to me, I'm going to send
you to the hell, and then it will be too late for you to correct your wrongs," the Reincarnation Emperor
said coldly.
Homer Huang felt like his heart skipped a beat.
"My Lord, please forgive my rudeness. I didn't mean it. I was just joking. Please don't take it to heart,"
he hurriedly explained.
"Humph, get out of my sight!"
Meanwhile, both Jenifer and the Rule Soul Avatar were taken to a cellar.
It was hundreds of kilometers in diameter, but so overcrowded with living creatures lying or sitting in
every inch of it that it was impossible to walk.
Jenifer and the Rule Soul Avatar were thrown into the crowd. She hurriedly got up, grabbed the Rule
Soul Avatar, and searched for a place to sit down.
However, they crawled for a long time but failed to find an empty spot.
Jenifer nearly passed out from fear as several pairs of eyes swept over her.
This time, however, she tried her best not to cry. She was worried that if she showed any signs of
weakness, it would increase these creatures' likelihood of attacking her.
Finally, she found a place. She sat with her legs crossed and pulled the Rule Soul Avatar onto her legs.
After taking several deep breaths to calm herself, she glanced around. A gasp almost escaped her lips
when she saw that hundreds of hungry eyes were fixed on her. She felt as if they were going to eat her
alive.
"You'd better not play any tricks, or you will die,"
Jenifer shouted in a threatening voice, pretending to be calm.Copyright by Nôv/elDrama.Org.
Hearing her cold words, some of them involuntarily shifted their gaze from her, while others were
disdainful and still glared at her fresh body with longing.
"Don't be silly. You'll be done once it's time. Especially someone like you, whose body is fresh and has
no smell. You will be eaten up by them in less than three seconds,"
a teen boy spoke to Jenifer. He was sitting next to her.
"What do you mean?" Jenifer asked.
"The last day of each month is the eating day here. That day, we can eat anything we can get without
being punished. But you are lucky. The last eating day was the day before yesterday. So, you still have
about twenty-eight days to live," the boy explained as he licked his lips and smiled.
"Go away,"
Jenifer exclaimed, pretending to be angry. But inwardly, she was panicked.
"You misunderstood me. As we are humans, we won't eat our kind. You need to worry about those
beasts," the boy continued, pointing at the other races not far away.
Among them, there were members of the fiend race, the Shura race, the beasts, and every other race
that people could think of.
"If that's the case, you should worry about yourself, not me," Jenifer contradicted coldly.
"I'm fine. I happen to have a piece of Divine Essence Stone. It is enough for me to restore my strength
for an hour. Nobody dares to hurt me," the boy said with a smile as he waved the transparent stone in
his hand.
Jenifer stared at the stone, and the impulse to grab it coursed through her.
"Don't get any bad ideas. You can't take it away." The boy seemed to have read Jenifer's mind.
"How about your cultivation base? Which realm are you in now?" Jenifer then asked.
On second thought, she gave up that idea. Now that the boy had dared to flaunt his Divine Essence
Stone and the others showed no sign of stealing it from him, he must be more powerful than she
estimated. Thus, she decided to try something else.
"It's not much. I'm at the top-level of the Domain God Realm. It's not very high, but it is enough for me
to protect myself," the boy replied.
"Would you please do me a favor?" After thinking for a while, she looked at the boy earnestly.
"No, I won't protect anyone." The boy was certain that this beautiful woman sought protection. He had
met a lot of people like her.
Jenifer felt a bit disappointed.
After a moment of silence, she pointed at the Rule Soul Avatar and said to the boy, "I don't need your
protection, but I want you to help him. If you agree, I will give you the Celestial God Realm cultivation
method and a piece of high-level divine weapon. In fact, I will give you whatever I own as long as you
promise to protect him."
