Chapter 1258 The Underworld

Chapter 1258 The Underworld

Edmond's hands flew to his eyes. Wave after wave of agony coursed through him, and he couldn't help

but fall to the ground.

He felt as though his eyes had been reduced to a boiling mess, and it was all Donovan's doing.

"No!" he shrieked. "My eyes..."

The torment caused by the injury to his eyes was several times more intense than the pain of his soul

being torn apart. Although Edmond was powerful, he couldn't stand the pain any better than the Rule

Soul Avatar. He was in such great distress that he would have ended his life if that brought him relief.

A bold idea flashed through Jenifer's mind when she noticed this.

Whoosh!

She concentrated all of her god's power on her whip as she flew forward.

Whoosh!

With a powerful swing of her hand, the whip slashed through space and landed with a cracking sound

on Edmond's neck.

Slap!

Unfortunately, Jenifer's strike only left a bloody mark on his neck. It did not kill him.

"What a strong defense!" Jenifer gasped in astonishment. This was not the result that she had hoped

for.

When Edmond's eyes exploded, it caused a disorder in his power, leaving him weak to the limit.

Despite that, Jenifer could not break his defense. One could imagine the power of the defensive ability

of his body!

As he suffered from extreme pain, Edmond had lost the ability to fight. He knew that if Jenifer wanted to

kill him, he wouldn't be able to defend for long.

"Let's go!"

Now that her plan had failed, Jenifer didn't want to wait and see how Edmond would retaliate. She

could only think of fleeing with the Rule Soul Avatar and Donovan.

She grabbed them, turned, and flew into the distance.

Three months went past, but she didn't stop.

Finally, she halted at the edge of a sea. It was not exhaustion or complacency that drove her to stop,

but rather the fear of hidden dangers in the water that stretched toward the horizon.

In these past three months, the Rule Soul Avatar remained in a state of unconsciousness. The only

sign of life he emitted was the convulsions that rocked his body from time to time. It was apparent that

his pain had not been alleviated in the slightest.

Although this concerned Jenifer, at the same time, she felt relieved.

She was worried as she wasn't sure whether Darren would be in such pain forever. What brought her

comfort was the thought that if Darren's pain hadn't receded, Edmond would be in the same situation.

She was relieved as she didn't worry about him coming after them.

"Darren, can you hear me?"

Tears welled in Jenifer's eyes as she gazed at the Rule Soul Avatar. Respect, concern, sorrow—all

sorts of emotions coursed through her in tandem.

The Rule Soul Avatar's eyes were tightly closed, and blood and tears flowed continuously from them.

His face remained expressionless, except the occasional muscle spasm.

"Woo...woo..."

Seeing the painful expression on the Rule Soul Avatar's face, Donovan, who stood beside him, seemed

to be engulfed by sadness.

"What should we do? I'm so worried,"

Jenifer mumbled as she used her sleeve to wipe the blood and tears away from the Rule Soul Avatar's

face.

"Leave quickly. Hurry up and get out of here."

Suddenly, a young and distant voice echoed in her mind.

She was so terrified that her hair stood on end. She immediately released her god's sense.

"Hurry up, or they will come."

The distant voice sounded anxious.

"Who are you? Where are you?" She glanced around but saw nothing.

"Ah, it's too late. It's too late."

The tender voice grew more panicked, and then it faded, as if it had gone far away.

The creepy voice left Jenifer feeling uneasy.

Not daring to stay any longer, she intended to leave with the Rule Soul Avatar and Donovan.

However, before she could do anything, she heard chanting coming from the distance.

"What's that?" Jenifer was simultaneously curious and terrified. The chanting was eerie, and it sent a

chill down her spine.

Gradually, the chanting neared. Now, she could hear the sound of gongs and drums as well.

She followed the noise's direction and saw something black and white floating in the surging sea

waves.

In a flash, that black and white object arrived at the beach.

That was when she could see that it was a group of people.

However, they were only as big as cats, and all of them had pink cheeks and rigid smiles on their faces.

The tiny people lined up in two rows, wearing black and white clothes, respectively.

Four little people carried a very delicate palanquin in the front of the group.

The sound of gongs and drums intensified, and the little people stopped chanting and began to wail.

Their cries were so miserable and eerie that Jenifer couldn't help but shiver.

She had never seen or heard of such a thing before.

After being in a trance for a short while, she returned to her senses. Her first thought was to flee, but

she found that she couldn't move.

"Please get into the sedan chair,"

one of the little people shouted. His tender voice sounded ethereal and distant.

"Are you talking to us?" Jenifer finally calmed down.

However, she received no response. Instead, the little people rushed forward and placed Donovan into

the sedan chair first.

Jenifer was so frozen with fear and shock that she could only watch, wide-eyed, as they placed the

Rule Soul Avatar into the sedan chair.

None of her companions struggled during the process.

"Ah..." Jenifer finally screamed.

By now, the little people had hopped closer to her.

"Fuck off!" Jenifer cried, but it was useless. They lifted her and placed her in the sedan chair as well.

It was so dark, cold, and empty.

Jenifer tried to sense Darren's location but to no avail.

She didn't know how much time had passed before she felt that the sedan chair had stopped moving.

A dark blue door opened. Jenifer desperately rushed toward the door. She thought she could force her

way out and escape.

Thump.

However, after she flew through the door, her body felt so heavy that she couldn't lift herself, nor could

she fly. As a result, she fell down and hit the ground.

Regardless of the pain, Jenifer looked around. This time, she saw Darren and Donovan in front of her.

"Darren, Donovan, are you okay?" Jenifer asked as she got up and ran toward them.

"Woo...hoo."

Donovan cried in response, but the Rule Soul Avatar remained silent.

Swoosh! Swoosh!

Shortly afterward, two figures, one dressed in black and one in white, flew out from the dark blue

distance and landed in front of Jenifer.

"Come with us."

Jenifer drummed up the courage to ask, "Who are you?"

"Underworld Reapers," they answered in unison.

"What do you mean?" Jenifer was confused.

"You are so stupid! Haven't you heard of the underworld?"

Jenifer paled. She had heard about the underworld. It was said that the underworld was a place where

people would go after they died.

But she had never believed it. Since she was a warrior at the God Realm, her soul would be destroyed

after her death. How in the world could she go to the underworld?

"So what? We are alive. Why do you come for us?" She sensed that something was wrong and they

might have made a mistake. This thought eased some of the fear she felt.

"Cut the crap and come with us."NôvelDrama.Org copyrighted © content.

As they spoke, each of the Underworld Reapers pulled out an iron chain with a hook in the front.

Swish!

The two iron chains flew in unison and hooked into the Rule Soul Avatar's and Donovan's collarbones.

Jenifer's eyes widened with shock and horror. Regardless of the risk to her, she rushed forward, ready

to fight.

It was then that she realized that she couldn't fly and that the god's power in her body had disappeared.

Now, she was just an ordinary person.
