A Successful Career After Divorce

Chapter 264 One Billion Dollars

Ranita didn’t really want to see Amiya. Every time they met, she would make snide remarks and she didn’t want to make things difficult for Brendon.

“… Brendon, why don’t I hide here for a bit?”

“No need. I want to clear things up with my mom,” Brendon paused and looked back at her, “If you don’t want to live in Boulderland Mansion anymore, you can stay in the apartment.”

Ranita’s heart was instantly touched.

Amiya sat in her wheelchair with a man wearing a white suit standing beside her. Ranita had seen him before. It was Elliot Adams who used to work for Wyatt before he passed away.

She greeted them both, “Mrs. Stuart, Mr. Adams.”

Amiya saw her and her face immediately turned dark.Content © copyrighted by NôvelDrama.Org.

“Why is she still here?” Amiya sneered at Brendon, “I have important matters to discuss with you that shouldn’t be heard by outsiders. Ask her to leave.”

Elliot smiled faintly showing wrinkles on his face, “Mrs. Stuart, Ms. Bowman is also involved in this matter so she has the right to stay.”

Amiya’s face grew even darker.

“Mr. Adams, don’t forget who pays your salary. You better not be ungrateful!”

Elliot had always been Wyatt’s lawyer but because Wyatt wasn’t close with Amiya, she held some resentment towards Elliot as well.

“I have always worked under Mr. Wyatt Stuart’s employment so naturally I am working for him. And as a lawyer, I will fulfill my duties,” replied Elliot nonchalantly.

This made Amiya even more frustrated.

“Wyatt is part of the Stuarts. But what does that have anything do with Ranita…”

“I say it does. Three of you should sit down and talk about this,” said Elliot calmly but imposingly since he was an elder. Brendon respected him greatly and said, “Mom, let’s sit down and listen what Mr. Adam has got to say.”

After everyone sat down, Elliot took out two documents from his bag, “Mr. Stuart, I sent you letters earlier, you should know why I’m here today. This is another will left behind by your grandfather. He asked me open it three months after he passed away.”

“Mr. Adams, what will?” Amiya furrowed her brow and questioned, “Mr. Adams, didn’t they already read Wyatt’s will?”

“Mrs. Stuart, please calm down,” Elliot said as he looked at Amiya. “This is a letter of commission from Mr. Stuart to me. You can take a look.” He handed the letter to Amiya and then turned to Ranita.

“Ms. Bowman, you are the key beneficiary in this will,” he said with a serious expression on his face.

“Mr. Stuart deposited some money in a Swiss bank account before he passed away and left it all to you.”

What? All of it was left to her?

Ranita was shocked as she looked at Elliot with disbelief.

After the death of Wyatt, Elliot had already publicly distributed most of his assets under his name. Most of the company’s shares went to Brendon while everyone else received something except for Ranita.

“Not possible!” Amiya also thought she heard wrong. “Mr. Adams, you must be confused. Ranita isn’t even part of the Stuart family. Why should she receive any inheritance?”

Ignoring Amiya’s words completely, Elliot handed over documents regarding inheritance directly in front of Ranita. “Ms. Bowman, Mr. Stuart has left you one billion dollars.”

“All you have to do is sign here, and all this wealth belongs solely to you.”
