A Successful Career After Divorce

Chapter 263 Kissing and Acting Like Thieves

“Thank you, Ranita!” Vincent smiled gently and shook hands with Ranita. “I wish you all the best in your future endeavors.”

The handshake was brief, but Brendon’s heart was pounding.

Why were their hands still clasped together? And why was that woman, Ranita, smiling so happily?

“Ranita… come with me!” Brendon slammed his coffee cup down and pulled Ranita back to the office, dragging her into the restroom.

Water splashed onto her hand as soap lathered up with a fragrant scent.

Brendon grabbed her hand and vigorously rubbed it until it turned red. Irritatedly, he said, “What are you doing shaking his hand? Who knows if there are any germs on him! Hurry up and wash your hands clean!”Copyright Nôv/el/Dra/ma.Org.

Ranita couldn’t help but chuckle at Brendon’s unreasonable words.

“What did Vincent do to offend you? It’s just a handshake as a form of courtesy,” she said while Brendon washed her hands clean for her before carefully drying them off with a towel.

Her fingers were slender and fair. Now they had been washed red by water.

Brendon leaned in close to trap Ranita against the sink. He placed one hand on her waist while narrowing his eyes dangerously at her, “Tell me, last time when you went out for dinner, was it Vincent?”

Ranita blinked innocently as she thought about denying it but then heard Brendon say, “I knew it! You’re not allowed to get too close to him from now on! Did you not see how he looked at you? Like a dog seeing bones!”

A dog seeing bones?

What an interesting metaphor!

Who was the dog here and who was the bone?

“Brendon, don’t be so unreasonable! I told you we just went out for dinner. There’s nothing special between me and Vincent. Besides he isn’t a dog. He is our prideful student of Kurima Foreign Studies University! And I’m not some bone either!”

Ranita pushed against his chest feeling angry that she had even tried reasoning with this barbarian man who only became more forceful.

“You’re still defending him?” Brendon became unhappy.

“You’re being completely unreasonable right now! I already told you that I didn’t…” Before she could finish speaking though, Brenden kissed her red lips.

How rude can someone be?

Whether or not Vincent was like a dog remained unclear to Ranita but one thing for sure – Brendon definitely behaved like one.

Ranita’s back was pressed against the sink, her spine aching from being squeezed. She was both embarrassed and angry, wishing she could kick him to death.

“Brendon! You’re going too far!”

“Hmm?” Brendon still had his eyes fixed on her with a smug expression.

Ranita was furious. “Brendon, can’t you just talk to me instead of… kissing me out of nowhere?”

What was the point in talking to women? If they could be reasoned with, pigs would fly!

Brendon asked, “Are you still daring enough?”

Why did he keep asking that? Was this guy out of words or something? Ranita gritted her teeth in frustration. “I told you I’m just friends with Vincent!”

But Brendon continued to kiss her forcefully.

“Are you still daring enough?” Brendon persisted in his rude and relentless manner. Ranita had no choice but to surrender, “No more! No more!”

“I really have nothing going on with Vincent! Can’t we talk about this like adults?” Ranita gave up trying to resist him as Brendon kept kissing her.

The atmosphere became ambiguous.

“Knock knock!” Suddenly there came a knocking at the door from outside. “Mr. Stuart, Mrs. Stuart is here.”

Mrs. Stuart? Amiya?

Ranita patted Brendon’s arm and whispered urgently, “Your mom is here!”

Like two thieves sneaking around together, Brenden chuckled as he stole one last kiss before adjusting Ranita’s collar and taking hold of her hand. “Come with me.”
