Chapter 248 Time, Slow Down a Bit
“I heard that you’re kind-hearted and easy-going, so you won’t get angry over such a small matter, right?” Eve paused before continuing with a pout.
“They were just two couples going out to have fun. I thought they looked so sweet and happy together that I wanted to share it with my other good friends. It was just an accident.”
Finally, Eve sighed and said, “Of course, if you insist on thinking that I did it on purpose, there’s nothing I can do about it.”
Shannon’s face turned red with anger as she clenched her fists and spoke in a coquettish voice.
“Eve, I didn’t mean anything by it. I just didn’t expect you to suddenly send Ranita and Brendon’s photos. You know… my relationship with Brendon…”
“Wait a minute! That sounds really strange. If you say it like that, people will misunderstand you. You grew up together with Brendon. He has been married to Ranita for several years now. Their marriage certificate is real! Luckily for me, I’m in the know about this situation. If someone else heard what you said, they would think you were trying to interfere in someone else’s marriage!”
“In the entertainment industry, this would be big news! Miss Murphy, please don’t jump into the fire pit yourself!” Eve advised sincerely while choking back tears.
Shannon was so angry she trembled all over; she wished she could rip Eve’s mouth apart but her public image had always been one of an innocent princess so instead gritted her teeth and pretended not to understand what was being said, “Thank you for caring about me like this, Eve.”
“Then tell me honestly – did Ranita ask you to send the photo?”
Shannon really made people sick – how could poor Ranita put up with her until now?
Eve smiled wryly before saying, “I already told you it was an accident! Oh dear my hand hurts… my doctor is coming soon to change my bandages, sorry!”
Eve hung up the phone feeling refreshed.
However, not long after that call ended, Eve’s agent called her angrily, “Have you recently provoked Shannon? Several of their teams have bought dirt on us readying themselves against us. You are doing well at the hospital why bother taking care of others? You don’t have any business dealings or much interaction with Shannon. How did things escalate?”Content protected by Nôv/el(D)rama.Org.
As an actress, Eve had very little contact with Shannon at all.
“Oh my, do I have any dirt on me? I don’t know. Besides, aren’t we promoting a new drama recently? Let her spread rumors and help me with some publicity.” Eve said this and the agent also thought it was pretty smart. “You’re such a little clever fox,” she said.
The sun was shining.
Ranita had eaten enough and was dozing off in the car.
“Ranita!” Suddenly, her face was pressed against Brendon’s palm. She opened her eyes groggily to see Brendon holding up her head with his hand.
“Be careful not to bump your head!” Brendon moved her head slightly. “If you’re tired, go back to sleep. I’ll wake you up when we get there.”
The afternoon sun was dazzling but it made Brendon look so gentle.
Ranita thought that this kind of Brendon was really good.
She reached out and grabbed his hand, rubbing her cheek against it as she yawned and watched him drive.
Time spent with Brendon was truly wonderful; she wished time could stop or at least make this road longer so that they could take their time.
“Ding Ling Ling!” The phone rang suddenly breaking the silence.
Ranita glanced at the screen seeing Shannon’s name displayed on it; instantly becoming more alert.
Here came trouble!
Brendon turned on navigation for his phone while leaving the call on speakerphone. Shannon’s pitiful yet coquettish voice filled the car, “Brendon…”
