Chapter 188 The Cyberbully
Ranita was used to solving things herself. “It is not that difficult, I will call a lawyer to deal with it!”
As soon as she finished talking, Dylan also called her phone. “Dylan…”
“Don’t go online,” Dylan paused and added, “Eve has contacted a reliable PR team to handle it. Just stay off the internet.”
“These netizens have nothing better to do! And with so many paid commenters, I bet Shannon’s behind it…”This text is © NôvelDrama/.Org.
Mentioning Shannon, Ranita glanced at Brendon and lowered her voice, “I’ve seen it already. Don’t worry! You and Eve don’t need to do anything. I can handle it myself.”
Ranita sat upright with confidence, wearing her genuine blue velvet dress. She wasn’t afraid of the online comments.
Suddenly, the buzz on social media decreased as commenters and marketing accounts smelled blood in the water. They assumed Ranita was guilty and demanded an apology from her.
Unfortunately for Ranita, Shannon posted a vague message, “She’s just a friend; please don’t speculate too much.”
If she hadn’t posted anything at all, fans wouldn’t have been as upset. Now they condemned Ranita for imitating her as a friend.
More people went to ES’ official website to complain.
Ranita didn’t understand the power of social media yet; she looked at Brendon calmly and said, “It’s not a big deal; don’t worry about it.”
Brendon was still unhappy with a cold look in his eyes.
“If I need help later on, I’ll let you know.”
Back at their hotel room, Brendon went into his study room but couldn’t focus on work. He hesitated for several seconds before calling Caleb.
“Caleb, you take care of this matter regarding Ranita online.” He paused again before adding, “There is another blue velvet dress by ES in Steland. I want you to contact them immediately if we can get their information or use our connections there if necessary. We need that dress back ASAP.”
There were only two blue velvet dresses by ES in the country. Shannon had one, and there was another in Steland. If they could retrieve the dress in Steland, this problem would be solved easily. The truth didn’t matter. What mattered was results.
“Mr. Stuart… actually… shouldn’t we ask Miss Bowman?” Knowing how well Caleb knew Ranita, it seemed unlikely that she would wear an imitation gown specifically for an auction. Maybe hers was real?
As his subordinate, Caleb decided not to say more than necessary.
“It’s okay. I’ll take care of everything right away!”
Ranita had just finished giving Brendon some vitamins and was peeling a lemon candy when her phone rang from an unknown number.
As soon as she answered, she heard someone cursing at her, “Ranita Bowman, you ugly freak! Look in the mirror before you try to copy Shannon’s style with your fake designer clothes! If you’re broke, don’t pretend to be something you’re not…”
Ranita immediately hung up the phone and blocked the number. However, there were continuous calls from unfamiliar numbers, filled with a variety of insults and even some threatening remarks, claiming they would come to her house to witness how ugly she, the “monster,” looked.
There were also hateful text messages. Ranita belatedly realized that her phone number had been leaked. She filtered out the unfamiliar numbers, bringing some peace to her world, but the text messages couldn’t be filtered, and they kept coming, all filled with insults. Ranita pretended not to see them, but the frustration weighed heavily on her.
