Chapter 263
Chapter 263 This Is for You
They were in such an aggressive fight that Maia did not give a second thought as she rushed toward them, trying to break them up!
When Cedric noticed her dashing headfirst into their fight, he immediately cradled her in his arms and turned, shielding her from Nigel's attack.
The force of Nigel’s attack hit Cedric fully as he frowned and hugged Maia tighter. The only thing in Cedric’s mind was Maia’s safety as he asked, “Are you okay?”
Maia was momentarily stunned before she heard him ask. She lifted her gaze to meet his and shook her head in response.
When Nigel was finally able to notice what was going on, she was already in Cedric’s arms. He quickly asked apologetically, “Are you hurt? By the time | saw you, it was already too late for me to stop my attack.”
Maia pushed herself away from Cedric’s embrace and replied, “I’m fine.”
That attack did not reach her at all as she was instantly protected by Cedric. She did not even see what exactly had happened. Maia drew her lips together as she looked around her. Her gaze rested on a familiar guy dressed in a suit among the crowd.
It was Baz. The famous personal assistant of Cedric, who she was not able to reach last night.
The moment their eyes met, Baz could not help but looked away awkwardly as he proceeded to dissipate the crowd. “Alright, there’s nothing much to see now. You should all leave the scene. If any of this gets online, HL Corporation will retain its right to act against the perpetrator.”
The crowd had no choice but to leave and act like nothing had happened. No one dared say otherwise in fear of HL Corporation and the power it represented.
Maia started to accuse Cedric the moment she noticed that the crowd had left. “I knew it! You were waiting for Nigel downstairs even though you acted like you had complied with my request.
“You already knew that Nigel was no match for you, yet you still wanted to win him in a brawl. You should be ashamed of yourself.”
Cedric’s face fell as he heard her accusations. Baz turned toward the couple when he heard this as well, he tried to signal Maia that Cedric had nothing to do with him by shaking his head and hands furiously. However, Maia was too angry to notice him.
“You really think that I'd do something like this?” “Wouldn't you?”

Cedric just smiled. He knew that she did not trust him from the tone of her voice. He did not continue to explain himself. He just went straight to her, grabbed her wrist, and dragged her to the direction of his car.
“Cedric, what do you think you’re doing? Let Maia go!” Nigel yelled and ran forward to try to stop them. Baz instinctively stood in front of him, blocking his path.
Baz smiled brightly to Nigel as he asked, “Mr. Nigel, where do you think you’re going?”
“Get out of my way!” Nigel demanded.
“I'm sorry. I've had a huge breakfast. | can’t seem to be able to move very well!”
Maia was no match for Cedric in terms of strength. She could only watch herself being
dragged to his car as she tried to struggle from his grip.
He finally released her when they got to his car. Maia was surprised with his sudden action, she retreated a few steps in caution. Cedric noticed her reaction and asked sadly, “You're that afraid of me?”
Maia was slightly surprised at how sad and lonely he sounded. A few seconds later, she saw him grabbing something from the passenger seat of his car and shoved it into her arms.
“This is for you. You should have breakfast regularly to take care of your stomach.” After he finished, Cedric hopped into the driver's seat, started the engine, and drove off. Maia was left rooted to the spot with a bag of food in hand. She did not realize that a tear had
formed and dropped onto the paper bag.
Baz eventually moved out of Nigel’s way when he saw that his boss had left.Published by Nôv'elD/rama.Org.
Nigel rushed toward Maia and asked worriedly, “Are you okay? What did he give you?” Maia just shook her head. The paper bag in her hands was still warm. “It’s just food.’ y
“It might be drugged. Who knows what's inside it.” Nigel suspiciously \tried to pry the bag out of Maia’s hands. Maia did not relent as she hugged the bag tighter.
“Didn’t you say there was something you needed to attend to at the office? You should go.”
Nigel was momentarily taken aback before nodding, “Yeah, | almost forgot about it. You should go home too. Let me order some delivery for you, I'll take care of this bag of food too.”
“There’s no need for that. I’m going to the office later. You should get back to work. Your work is more important.“ “Okay, if you need any help feel free to call me.”
“Sure, | will. Bye.” Maia tried to compose herself as she replied. She looked at the bag in her
Baz immediately ran up to her, “Ms Maia, wait!”
