The Wolf’s Bride

Chapter 1262

“Wolf King, Captain Black.”

The Arctic Fox seemed to notice the two’s suspicions and explained, “The Sauro Church is usually only open during the day because that’s when people usually come to pray. Once the sun sets, a curfew is imposed, prohibiting anyone from approaching.”

The Arctic Fox pointed to a notice on the wall as he spoke.

Andrius and Noir looked over. There were many languages on the notice explaining the curfew.

After reading it, Andrius could not help but sneer, “Aren’t churches supposed to be dignified and brightly lit places that uphold justice and purify all evil? Why does this church give off an eerie feeling, as if it has something to hide?”

In the face of Andrius‘ disdain, the Arctic Fox laughed and explained, “Wolf King, you may not know, but there’s a legend in Obaro.

“It’s said that there is a group of people here who, due to being contaminated by the blood of the progenitor, gradually evolved into undead vampires.”

Vampires?

Andrius and Noir exchanged a glance, both somewhat surprised.

“Vampires aren’t that different from humans during the day, except that they dislike sunlight.

“However, at night, they become extremely active, and their strength increases significantly. They’re able to move like the wind, swift and fierce.

“Every once in a while, they must feed on human blood, or they’ll become weak and even die. Therefore, they generally act at night. Their favorite is the blood of virgin girls in the church.

“The Sauro Church took this into consideration, so they don’t open at night.”

At those words, Andrius and Noir could not help but laugh.

“A church is supposed to ward evil away, but they’re afraid of vampires…” Andrius could not help but shake his head in disdain.

If he were in charge, he would just drive off any vampires that dared to invade. Why make things so complicated and let others look down on them? It was simply ridiculous.

They continued walking as they spoke and arrived at the church area. NôvelDrama.Org © 2024.

“This…” The Arctic Fox pointed to the large door ahead. “Is the main entrance of the Sauro Church.”

Then, he walked up and knocked on the door.

Creak-

Soon, the heavy wooden door opened. The sharp sound was particularly piercing in the silent night.

The person who opened the door was a nun dressed in black and white, a member of the church. She looked at the three, her eyes flickering. “It’s already night. The church isn’t open to the public. Do you need something? If you don’t, then please leave quickly.”

It was as the Arctic Fox said.

Andrius said gently, “We’re from Florence and can’t find our way back because we’re unfamiliar with this place. It’s said that the church offers shelter to believers, and my friend here is the most devout believer. Can you let us stay here overnight?”

Andrius pointed to the Arctic Fox behind him as he spoke.

The Arctic Fox understood and immediately made the praying gesture of the Sauro Church.

The nun assessed the three and agreed. “Please follow me.”

Soon, Andrius and the others were brought inside the church and assigned accommodation.

The nun reminded them, “It’s forbidden to run around in the church, especially at night. Otherwise, it is a great disrespect to God. Not only will it anger the

Father, but you’ll also be nailed to the cross and burned to death. Do you understand?”

Andrius and the others answered in unison, “Yes.”

“Good.”

The nun responded and then left.

After she walked away, Noir closed the door and asked, “Andy, did you notice? There was a sense of gloom and bizarreness everywhere on our way here. Is this how a church should be?”

Andrius already realized that something was off a long time ago. There was

probably also something going on with the nun from earlier.

He glanced outside the window. The cold moon hung high, creating an indescribable sense of desolation.

“Let’s rest for a while. I’m sure that tonight we’ll get answers about what this church is all about.”
