The Revenge of My Alluring Wife

Chapter 25

Chapter 25

Chapter 25 Car Accident

“Henry, be careful!”

With a loud ‘bang, the world fell silent.

Evelyn lay in a pool of crimson blood, her breath growing weaker. The figure not far away became

blurry, and Evelyn struggled to open her eyes, only to be engulfed by darkness in the

next moment.

In a daze, it seemed like a large net was closing in on her, binding her tightly, making it

impossible for her to escape or even breathe freely.

Until a pair of hands gripped her.

She woke up abruptly, her eyes wide open.

White walls, and the scent of disinfectant lingered in the air.

She was in the hospital

“Awake?” Alexander stood at the foot of the bed, seeing her awake without a hint of surprise,

but rather impatience. “Get up and get out. I don’t have the money to let you stay here forever,” he

said.

Evelyn stared at him. “Where’s Henry?”

Her eyes were red, but she stubbornly held back her tears.

“Henry said he doesn’t want to see you, and he won’t see you again.” With those words, anger flashed

on Alexander’s face.

If it weren’t for that fool Henry who covered in blood, but still holding onto his collar to make sure this

woman’s matters were settled, he wouldn’t have personally taken care of her.

“Why didn’t he come to tell me himself?”

Even if he couldn’t come, where is David? If David was unavailable, there was the other assistant.

Evelyn dared not imagine how serious the situation was for Henry to involve Alexander.

She remembered being shielded by Henry when the car came crashing.

“I want to see him and explain things to him in person.”

Enduring the pain in her body, Evelyn limped out of the ward, wandering through the corridor, searching

room by room for Henry.

If he wasn’t on this floor, she would go up to the next.

Finally, when climbing to the top floor, she saw a group of familiar figures.

David, Old Mr. Wilson, Old Mrs. Wilson, her mother–in–law Ava Miller, and Angela.

When the letters ICU caught her eye, Evelyn’s head exploded with a loud bang, and everything faded

to a dull gray.

“Why is she here?” Henry’s grandpa, Old Mr. Wilson saw her and was so angry that he coughed

violently, his frail body uncontrollably swaying.

Old Mrs. Wilson quickly comforted him. “Don’t worry; we’ll make her leave.”

“David, what are you still standing there for? Get her out.”

“Yes.” David reluctantly nodded and walked up to Evelyn.

Before he could speak, Evelyn refused him.

“He’s here, and I’m not leaving.”

Her voice was calm, her eyes fixed on the ICU door.

Despite her seemingly relaxed demeanor, David felt as if there was a mountain weighing down on

Evelyn. This frail body seemed to be holding up against an invisible force, ready to collapse

with the slightest breeze.

Old Mr. Wilson continued to glare at her.

Angela seized the opportunity to speak, “Evelyn, Henry lost half his life, it’s all because of you.

I believe the last person he wants to see right now is you.”

But Ava, Henry’s mother, interrupted her.

“Henry isn’t dead yet. Can you make decisions for him?” Ava glanced coldly at Angela.

She felt indifferent towards this suddenly emerged daughter–in–law, and even more disdain for Angela,

who always sought to please Old Mr. and Old Mrs. Wilson.

“Aunt, I’m sorry. I couldn’t help but feel indignant for Henry. His leg had just successfully undergone

rehabilitation,” Angela said, her eyes were red as she glanced at Old Mrs. Wilson. Old

Mrs. Wilson pretended not to see Angela’s plea.

Evelyn had no strength to argue with Angela now. She approached the ward, gazing at the bed where

Henry lay covered in bandages, only his face remaining intact. Her heart felt as if it had been slashed

with a knife, every nerve pulsating in pain.

“Where is he injured?”

“His leg, and…” David’s voice struggled, “head.”

“The doctor said that after the impact, a blood clot formed in the boss’s head, putting pressure on the

blood vessels and some nerves. If it doesn’t disperse, the boss might never wake up.”

“Never!”

Evelyn trembled all over. “Is there any way, any surgery? Can it be done?”

“Brain surgery is too delicate. The hospital director is already contacting the most authoritative expert,

but that expert has retired and is currently traveling the world.”

Evelyn thought of Gavin. He must know something.

“Where’s my phone, David? Where is it?” Evelyn urgently asked. Content © NôvelDrama.Org.

David shook his head. In the chaos at the scene, he was focused on saving lives and didn’t pay

attention to anything else.

Evelyn added, “No phone, then how about a computer?”

“Your phone is with me.” Old Mrs. Wilson, took out a new phone with a cracked screen from her pocket.

She thought it was her grandson’s and had kept it carefully.

Evelyn was surprised, silently walked up, and whispered, “Thank you.”
