Chapter 154
It's been thirty minutes since we returned from my father's place after having dinner and I haven't seen Dominic in the bedroom again since the moment he removed his jacket and necktie. The butler tells me that he's in the study and I choose not to bother him.
I can't think of anything else on his mind other than what happened with Patrick and that must have gotten to him, the same way it got to me. It still comes as a shock that he knows the truth and I don't trust him anymore. Even if he doesn't tell the whole world, I don't care about that, but what if he opens his mouth to my father? That's the last thing I want as he will begin his treatment in a few days and that's all that should matter. Too stuck on all the possibilities, I sit down on the bed, still in my long dress from earlier, including my heels as I endlessly try to figure out how Patrick knew about this.Property belongs to Nôvel(D)r/ama.Org.
What suddenly catches my attention is the sound of the door opening. I look over and see that Dominic is coming in while moving backwards and I know it's him because he's the only one who can walk into the bedroom without having to knock on the door. His back comes into view first and I'm in for a pleasant surprise when I see the rest of his body. In his hands is a small tray with a full glass of freshly made fruit juice.
He finally turns to face me and smiles a little and it makes my heart melt as I place a hand on my chest.
"You didn't have to do this," I say to him, rising to my feet.
"No, sit down." He stops me.
I sit back down on the bed, waiting until he approaches me. He sets the glass on the bedside table, then crouches down in front of me.
"There's a lot of shit going on right now, but that's not going to stop me from taking care of you," he says.
My heart flutters and I can't help but smile again as I look down at him.
"You really don't have to do this," I say to him. "I know this isn't easy for you."
"It's not, but that doesn't mean I'll forget that I promised you I was going to do this."
"Wait, are you only doing this because you promised me?" My breath hitches a little when he holds onto my calf under my dress.
"No. I'm doing it because I want to."
Watching him as he tightens his grip on my calf and looks up at me, I can tell that his time alone in the study made him loosen up a little. Could it be that he thought of something? I might be curious, but I don't want to ruin this moment, not when he's touching me. Lately, he's been more affectionate with me.
Silently, he takes off my heel while he glances up at me and I reach for my glass, my lips curving into a smile at how he's been making these drinks every evening for me.
Just as I take my first sip, his fingertips brush against the bottom of my bare foot and I flinch a little, making a mess on my dress and the front part of his hair. He pauses with his movements and I cover my mouth.
"Shit! I'm sorry," I say to him.
"It's okay." He chuckles.
"You might want to wash this out," I say to him as I push back his wet hair strands back.
Putting my legs on his shoulders after pulling up my dress all the way to my knees, he says, "I'll definitely wash it out, but later. For now, put that down."
The dominance in his voice makes me instantly put down my glass, pleasantly surprised that he wants this despite everything that's happened today.
Even though I'm already on the edge of the bed, he pulls me even closer towards him, his face now resting right between my thighs as he looks up at me.
I anticipate what is to come and as I'm eager for it, I lay down on my back and close my eyes, feeling him pull down my underwear.

Dominic
Out of breath and covered in sweat, it takes me a few seconds to get off of Vanessa and she doesn't let go either, heavily breathing against my ear with her hands on my back.
I finally pull out, rolling over to the side and resting my head on the pillow.
She instantly moves closer and rests her sweaty cheek right on my chest.
"I guess you really needed that," she says to me, still trying to catch her breath.
"I guess I did." I smile a little, watching her face for a while
as
think about how I couldn't touc
how I truly felt about her.
As soon as she notices I'm just staring at her, she raises her eyebrows. "What are you thinking about?"
"It's nothing." I look away with a small smile.
"I don't believe that, but I'll let it go. Have you spoken to Carmella since you last saw her?"
Her question makes me clench my jaw as it ruins my mood. Why would she mention Carmella now of all times? "No and I want to keep it that way," I say to her.
"So, I was wondering..." She trails off.
"About what?"
"Does she get to keep the bodyguards?
I sigh. "I was actually thinking about that earlier. I still haven't decided. To be honest, she doesn't deserve anything."
"Hey, that reminds me, you still haven't told me what you did to make sure that this never gets out."
She curiously turns, resting her chin on my chest, her eyes going round and filled with curiosity.
I push her sweat-drenched hair away from her face and raise my eyebrows with a smirk as I prepare to blow her mind.
"I basically just-"
Suddenly, the phone on my bedside
table rings with a message
notification. I look over as I'm able to see what's on my screen and it's Patrick, making me instantly sit up.
"What's going on?" she asks.
"It's Patrick." I furrow my eyebrows as I read the message. "He wants to see me tomorrow."
"Wow, that was so quick."
"I know. I'm glad he wants to see me."
"So you can get answers?"
"Yes and I can give him my own."
"What?" She furrows her eyebrows.
"Never mind."
I lie back down, holding her close and resting her head on my chest again and I can't help but smile as I'm certain of this. When I see Patrick tomorrow, I'll have a clear answer for him.
