The Cursed Wolf’s Love

A romantic relationship

Iris blinked several times and inquired of Adolphus, “What have I done wrong?” She continued, “I was merely fulfilling my duty by covering you with the blanket.” Her gaze briefly met his before she lowered her eyes.

Adolphus explained, a hint of desire in his voice, “It’s those caring gestures that awaken the primal instincts within me. You’re well aware of how much my body yearns to claim you.”

Iris offered a sincere apology and promised to exercise greater caution in the future.

“How?” Adolphus demanded answer.

Iris again peered into his orbs shimmering greenish. “I won’t do what I’m not told to,” she replied, stressing upon her words.

“Tsk.” Adolphus ended up chuckling. His hand went to the back of her head and he pulled her up. Iris’s eyes grew bigger, her eyes started fluttering in anticipation.

“Master,” Iris whispered, her plea evident in her voice, urging him to release her. Simultaneously, her eyes conveyed the message that such thoughts were inappropriate.

Adolphus brought his other hand to tenderly cradle her neck, leaning down to whisper in her ear. “Iris, I’ve mentioned before how I can’t detect my mate’s scent, but your presence affects me like no other. I’m beginning to believe that you might be my mate,” he confessed, his words tinged with uncertainty.

“Master shouldn’t think that. How can I be” her words were shut off as Adolphus’s index finger rested on the top of her lips.

His intense gaze bore into hers. “Iris, why don’t you let me confirm it? A kiss is the answer. We already have kissed a few times, but not like the real one,” he suggested to Iris before dropping his hand to her lower waist.

“That’s my fault to forget my position as a servant. I cannot involve with the Crown Prince in such kind of relationship. I know I’m again rude to him, but he can find some other woman to satisfy his primal desires,” Iris opined without fearing him once again.

“I want a romantic relationship with you, Iris. A serious romantic relationship,” Adolphus’s declaration filled the room, accompanied only by the sound of rain pattering on the roof.

Iris looked at him, her expression one of bewilderment. However, she couldn’t ignore her own reservations and ended up shaking her head, declining his offer.

“But I am a slave, a servant or a maid who doesn’t even equal Master Adolphus,” she reasoned while furrowing her brows together.

“Yes, you are a slave and a maid. But for me, you are not only that person. You also know what a slave can do for his master, but I never allowed you to do something against your will. I do feel some strong emotions toward you,” Adolphus asserted and his grip slowly loosened from her waist.

Adolphus quietly instructed, “You may move away,” as he averted his gaze from her.

Iris sensed that her words had upset Adolphus, so she quietly retreated to the bed and continued to watch him, even though his gaze was averted.

“It’s not right, Iris,” Adolphus finally spoke and caught her off guard as he turned to look at her. “You’re still gazing at me. How can I not think about you when you do that?” he questioned.Text © owned by NôvelDrama.Org.

“Pardon me?” Iris exclaimed, clearly taken aback, struggling to find the right words to respond.

“I’ve gone crazy,” Adolphus mumbled and he got down from the bed. Wearing his boots, he left the room in a fury, leaving Iris all alone there.

“I didn’t mean to upset him,” Iris murmured.

With more than fifteen minutes passing and no sign of Adolphus, fear began to gnaw at Iris. She made the decision to search for him outside. Stepping off the bed, she quickly put on her sandals and ventured out in search of him.

In the corridor, the lanterns flickered due to the wind, casting eerie shadows. Iris scanned her surroundings, noticing an open window at the far end, allowing the wind to rush in.

Determined to close it, she hurried toward it, stretching out her hand. In the process, she got drenched from the front as rain poured in. Nonetheless, she managed to successfully shut the window, blocking the rain from entering further.

As Iris turned around, she was met with the unsettling sight of two drunken men whose lecherous gazes made her feel vulnerable.

Her hands dropped to her sides, and she became acutely aware that her dress was entirely soaked from the rain, accentuating her curves. She instinctively crossed her arms protectively over her chest and made a swift decision to retreat to her room.

As she passed the two men, one of them seized her wrist, causing her to let out a whimper of pain. “Let go of me!” Iris shouted, her voice laced with fear and frustration.

“How can I let go of such a beautiful girl? You’re going to give us some pleasure tonight,” the man leered, his lustful gaze fixed on Iris.

However, Adolphus’ commanding voice shattered the tense atmosphere in the corridor. “Leave her hand!” His deep, authoritative tone sent shivers down their spines as they locked eyes with him, instantly releasing Iris’s wrist.

Adolphus moved with lightning speed, appearing in front of the man who had grasped Iris’s wrist. His powerful grip closed around the man’s neck, and the other man, too close to escape, found himself trapped by Adolphus.

Iris urgently pleaded with him to stop, but Adolphus, his pupils now a striking red with a hint of green, didn’t relent. “I will end their lives for their filthy acts,” he declared, tightening his hold on their necks. In a matter of seconds, the two men lost consciousness, their souls departing from their lifeless bodies.

Adolphus released his grip, allowing the two to crumple to the wooden floor with a heavy thud.

Iris, still in shock, covered her mouth with her hands and stared at Adolphus in bewilderment.

Adolphus swiftly took her hand and pulled her inside the room. With a forceful motion, he slammed the door against the wall and then drew Iris close to him, their bodies pressing together.

Adolphus’s anger was palpable as he questioned her, “Who told you to go out?”

Iris stammered, unable to provide an immediate response, but then found the courage to explain herself. “I-I was worried about my master, wondering where he went in such bad weather.”

Surprisingly, Adolphus’s anger dissipated completely, and he embraced her tightly, leaving Iris utterly astonished by his sudden change in demeanor.
