The CEO’S Unplanned Heir novel (Aurelia and Leopold)

Chapter 1229

Chapter 1229

"It should be fine for now. They've got her isolated, and there's definitely some other scheme brewing,"

Aurelia mused with a hint of thoughtfulness.

"What else could they possibly want?" Lisbeth asked.

Aurelia's lips curled into a sneer, "As long as Geoffrey remains at large, they won't stop stirring the pot."

Lisbeth frowned slightly, well aware of how relentless AK Group could be. They were like cockroaches,

creeping into every nook and cranny, and with just one person left, they could spawn a whole network

of underlings.

"Agent A is still useful. Have him keep digging."

"Okay," Aurelia nodded.

Lisbeth placed a hand on her slightly swollen belly, "Do you think I should tell Raines about the

pregnancy?"

That was something Aurelia couldn't advise on, and it was for Lisbeth to decide.

"That's up to you. If you want to tell him, go ahead. Consider it a New Year's gift."

Lisbeth nodded in agreement.

Aurelia headed inside the house, where Leopold greeted her and settled beside her on the sofa,

"Worried about Lisbeth and Raines?"

Aurelia shrugged, "Raines has amnesia, but it's odd. He remembers everyone else but not Lisbeth.

What's that all about?"

Leopold took a sip of his tea and said gravely, "Maybe the truth was too much for him, and he's chosen

to forget selectively."

Aurelia sighed, unsure whether it would be better for Raines to regain his memory or continue with his

amnesia.

"What should Lisbeth do if Raines can't forgive her?"

Leopold sipped his tea delicately, "We can't meddle in their emotional affairs. They'll have to work it out

themselves."

As midnight approached, everyone gathered by the lakeside, awaiting the New Year's fireworks.

Aurelia noticed Harriet sitting next to Charles in silence as if they'd had a falling out.

It seemed Harriet still harbored some resentment over Charles' dalliance with a young starlet.

Beverley took a seat beside Aurelia, looking less than cheerful herself.

"Beverley, not enjoying New Year's Eve? Want some holiday cash later?" In the Stirling family, all the

unmarried members received holiday money, regardless of age.

Beverley pouted, "It's so annoying."

"What's up? Don't tell me you've got a new boyfriend?" Aurelia teased with a chuckle.

"No way," Beverley whispered, "Didn't you notice my parents haven't spoken all day?"

Aurelia had noticed, "Your mom seems upset. She and Uncle Charles had a fight?"

Beverley replied, "That starlet is pregnant. My mom wants her to get rid of the baby. She can tolerate

my dad's flings, but she won't stand for him having an illegitimate child."

Aurelia understood that Harriet's tolerance had its limits, and Charles had crossed the line this time.

"And what's Uncle Charles' stance?"

"Dad hasn't taken a position," Beverley said, pursing her lips, "Probably doesn't want to, I guess."

Aurelia was speechless, "Is Uncle Charles really smitten with that starlet?"

"Who knows? He's lost his mind," Beverley said indignantly. She couldn't accept Charles having an Original from NôvelDrama.Org.

illegitimate child either.

Charles said Leopold had come to terms with Aurelia having Arnold's child, and if Harriet objected, she

was just being narrow-minded. But Beverley couldn't mention this to Aurelia because it would upset

her.

Aurelia sighed softly, "Is there anything I can do?"

Beverley shrugged, "Not much you can do right now unless my parents' quarrel blows up."

"What do you think? If you're against Uncle Charles having an illegitimate child, put some pressure on

him to think twice," Aurelia suggested.

Beverley looked down, "I usually stay out of their business."

"You're their child, part of the family. You should mediate your parents' relationship. I think Aunt Harriet

could use your support," Aurelia said.
