Ignoring her protests, Winston glanced at Simon. His gaze was intense and sharp as a blade. Through gritted teeth, he said, “Mr. Harrison, my wife’s affairs are none of your concern.”

Millie froze in disbelief.

Winston’s features were almost contorted with tension. Mille wonderwhether his actions were it some strange form of male possessiveness.

“Put me down,” Millie demanded as she pushed against Winston’s chest. Frustration was evident in

her tone.

“Do you even know what you’re doing?” she asked through gritted teeth, her voice barely audible to anyone but him.

Winston lowered his eyes, his voice husky as he held her close. “Millie, if you’re serious about divorce, behave well.”

“What do you mean by that?” Millie was bewildered.

Placing Millie in the passenger seat, Winston’s gaze settled on her, his words plain and simple. “You heard me.”

Millie watched with confusion as Winston circled and climbed inside the car. She pondered if he was trying to intimidate her, and since when had she become the obstacle preventing their

divorce?

The situation was so absurd that it was laughable.

Simon, who was standing by the car, observed Winston with a puzzled expression. After a brief moment, he crossed his arms and leaned against the vehicle, letting out a resigned chuckle.

Was Winston truly in love with Millie, or was this some sort of game?

Recognizing that confronting Winston directly would lead nowhere, Millie opted for a softer approach.

She flashed a radiant smile and said sincerely, “Mr. Greer, I appreciate your concern. But since Simon is here, it wouldn’t be polite to let him leave on his own, would it?”

Winston fifted his gaze, locking eyes with Millie’s captivating ones. Her smile was as enchanting as a gentle breeze.

“Would you rather let me go alone?” Winston moved closer, his intense gaze fixed on Millie. His voice Howered to a soft murmur. “Would you?”

Caught off guard, Millie wondered what Winston’s intentions were. “Mr. Greer, aren’t you being a bit unreasonable? You already have a fiancée, ready for a new chapter. But what about me?

“I’ve finally found a potential match, and here you are, interfering with us. With you around, how will I

ever-”

As Millie spoke, her words were cut short by Winston’s proximity. He was so close that she could feel his breath on her lips.

His complexion wasn’t at its best, but it did nothing to diminish his handsome features. His striking eyes and strong features radiated undeniable charm.

Millie held her breath, anxious about Winston’s next move. The tension inside the car was palpable.

His warm breath against her face caused her cheeks to flush. Then, suddenly, she heard the distinct sound of a seatbelt being unfastened. NôvelDrama.Org holds © this.

Millie blinked in surprise.

Winston met her gaze once more. “Why are you blushing?”

Millie remained silent, her gaze drifting to the window as she resumed her thoughts. “You always interfere. How will lever-”

Winston gently lifted Millie’s chin with his fingertip, then cradled her face, compelling her to meet his eyes. His touch was scalding, as if it might burn her skin.

Millie’s breath hitched as she found herself lost in his close proximity.

“What do you want?” he pressed.

“Another chance at love,” Millie replied earnestly.

“With Simon?” Winston arched an eyebrow, his gaze slowly trailing down from her eyes.

Millie was wearing a glossy lip color, making them irresistibly tempting.

Winston’s throat tightened inexplicably. He prided himself on his restraint, but around Millie, he found himself on the brink of losing control. He despised feeling restrained.

Frustrated, Millie pulled away from Winston’s hold and leaned forward. She stated, “Mr. Greer, do I

need your blessing for my next marriage?”

Winston met her sparkling eyes once more, seeing his reflection mirrored within. “Sure.”

Hearing Winston’s audacious claim, Millie was exasperated.

“Who did he think he was?” she yelled inwardly.

“Winston, stop this!” Millie pushed him away and tried to open the car door, but it remained stubbornly

shut.

“Let me out!” Millie glared at him. “Now!”

Instead of acting, Winston’s gaze drifted to Simon, who was waiting outside.
