Chapter 56
RITA'S POV
I had visited Ivy in her room earlier. She got us drinks and when we consumed everything, she left the room to get more drinks and that was the last thing I remember.
I fell into a deep sleep afterwards, but Dakota woke me up and when I got up. Ivy was not in the room. I decided to go back to my room and what I saw was something I had least expected Ivy was in my room and on top of my male,
This drove Dakota crazy. My eyes turned red and I growled, my blood boiling hot to see another she-wolf in an inappropriate position with my mate.
"Simon. We should have gone to another hotel. I told you the staff of this hotel do not respect people's privacy," Ivy said. slurring her words. It was like she was drunk.
Immediately. Alpha Leo pushed Ivy away from him and she fell to the ground, but it did nothing to make me feel better. My veins were popping and my nails began to elongate with me slowly shifting to Dakota. "Rita? Is that you?" My mate looked genuinely confused. He frowned and then looked at Ivy who was wincing in pain. "You deceived me," he spat, visibly pissed.
"Enough!" I growled.
1 cocked my head at Ivy and Dakota grunted.
'She has to die."
Dakota was dead serious and I knew fully well that if I shifted to her completely, Ivy was dead meat.
With Dakota slowly taking control, I launched toward Ivy, but before I could get to her, two guards grabbed me from behind.
"Let go," I snarled, annoyed at how they had grabbed me like I was the one at fault.
"Luna Rita, we're so sorry," One of the guards said and they slowly let go of me.
I turned to Ivy and Dakota growled.
"Rita, please calm down," Ivy pleaded. She was on her knees now, but at that moment, Alpha Leo staggered over to her, struck her across the face and she fell face flat to the ground.
"Calm down? What the hell are you doing in my room?" Alpha Leo snarled.
"S-Simon? You booked me, Ivy slurred. "You told me you have no experience of being with a woman and wanted me to give you the experience."
One of the guards walked to the side of the bed and picked up Alpha Leo's drink.
"Moonwine? Alpha, you're both under the influence of moonwine. The guard walked up to me and handed the drink over "Luna Rita, they are both under the influence of moonwine. Moonwine's effect on werewolves is similar to the effect of ordinary alcoholic drinks on humans. We are not immune to its intoxications."
"Lies, Dakota growled. "Don't believe what they say. Just give me the chance to shred the bitch that dared go mate into a thousand pieces
close to our
"Take her to her room, ordered. The guards went over to Ivy quickly and roughly pulled her up before dragging her out of the room. "R-Rita. I-
I held my hand up at Leo, signaling him to stop talking and he did.
I climbed the bed and turned to the wall, away from the side of his bed. I heard sounds of him joining me in the bed, but I refused to spare him at least a glance.
"I could not see her face and I was feeling dizzy."
"Can we please talk about this later?" My mate was probably not a fault, but even Dakota was in no mood to talk to him. I
your have felt weird and was definitely not in the state of mind to talk to Alpha Leo. "You're drunk now, We would talk when fully gotten yourself.
I could barely sleep throughout that night. The thought of my mate and Ivy faking their drunken state bugged me.
"You should avoid that she-wolf. I don't like the aura emanating from her, Dakota said. She kept-on pacing up and down my mind, contributing to my sleeplessness.
Morning came and I had not closed my eyes for up to a minute yet. Frustrated, I left the room to the garden and I met Ivy
there.
Dakota grunted and I turned my back to leave.
Friend, Ivy called out. She had seen me already, so I turned back to her and feigned a smile.
"You're finally sober, I pointed out and she nodded with a small smile on her face.
"Immediately I recalled what I did yesterday, I rushed to the garden to clear my head. I'm so sorry for yesterday night. I was so drunk that I thought I was at-" She hesitated, but after a while, she completed her sentence anyways. "I thought I was at work and that your mate was one of my clients."
I just nodded at her, not knowing how to respond.
"I came here to clear my head, because since I woke up, something has been bugging my mind."
"And what will that be?"
"I want to leave. Things will definitely be awkward with me around and I don't want that."
"Yes, she should leave," Dakota said, agreeing with Ivy for the first time.
"Do you have a place to go from here?" I asked.
Ivy shrugged casually, "I'm thinking of going back to my previous apartment. My rent is not due yet. It will be in about a month. Hopefully, before then I will be able to raise the next rem. I just have to work hard. She winked at me.
My heart sank. From my interactions with Ivy, she made me know that she was not a whore by choice. It was something she had to do to survive and get money.
"It's difficult to keep the image of what I saw last night off my head, but since you both were drunk, then it is not anybody's fault. I'm just glad I came in on time to stop anything from happening. And, what if I am able to get you another job? Will you stop your current job?".
Ivy laughed. "You're too kind. It will take a lot from me to stop. Being a whore is my way of life. Even in my drunken state, still thought of my job and mistook your mate for a client of mine." Chapter 56
Dakota was fuming. She had Ivy.
I, on the other hand, said nothing in reply to her.
We both looked around the garden quietly, saying nothing to each other.
"It's natural to have doubts and not trust the after what you saw last night, Ivy broke the silence. "But, you should know that I will never do anything to hurt you. Even if you don't trust me that much, you should trust your mate and if you want to be sure, you can ask the moon goddess yourself when next Alpha Leo and you go to her sanctum."
I raised an eyebrow. "Sanctum?"
"Yes. The room with the green door. Alpha Leo must have taken you to the room already. The room is a sanctum with the statue of the moon goddess in it.
"I have never been to the room. Beta Darius told me that the room has something to do with Ama's death and that I could die if I went in."
"Yes, it has something to do with Ama's death, but how would you die if you go in. The only thing in that room is the statue of the moon goddess. How would that kill you?"
"Are you implying that Beta Darius lied to me?"
"Beta Darius told you what the Alpha told him
"So, you're saying that my mate is the one who is telling the lies,
"He believes he is right, because he has not gotten over Ama yetNôvelDrama.Org owns this text.
I flinched, surprised at what Ivy said. "I don't understand."
She heaved a sigh and looked around to be sure that nobody was looking. "I did not want to tell you this, because it is too heartbreaking. The truth is bitter, but it is still better than a lie, plus friends should not keep things from each other." Just say what you want to say."
"Last night. When I walked into the room in my drunken state, the Alpha called Ama's name. Even when I was near him, he kept on saying her name. He thought I was Ama and if I remember correctly, he was very happy at the thought of Ama. getting close to him. Not once did he mention your name." My heart sank. "I have never experienced such."
have never been with him when he is drunk and disoriented. When you walked into the room and switched on "Because you the lights, he got himself back partially. If he did not, you would have heard hirm call her name. We can't keep things to ourselves when we are completely drunk you know. That is when we are our true selves"
1 immediately recalled how I acted around Alpha Leo when I was drunk. "Are you trying to say that he doesn't love me?" My voice quivered.
