Chapter 122
The wolf still managed to jump to the other side and we stopped running.
"Are you coming with me to dinner?" Rita asked casually. She sounded like what had happened just now did not happen.
I stared back at her in confusion. "What about..." My voice trailed off and I looked back at the fence he had jumped, wondering if I was missing something.
"Don't worry about him." She laughed. "He will crawl back to me in days."
"Why?" I had to ask. I was curious to know what she had in mind.
"The knife is poisoned. One of the perks of having an Aunt who has perfected the art of medicine."
"Poisoned?"
She nodded.
"He won't find the antidote anywhere. He or she has to come to me to get an antidote and we know what we will do by then. So, are you joining me in dinner or not?"
"I wonder if you heard what I said before -"
"I did. It's sad, but it's not your fault. I can't say it is Atlas's fault either, because to an extent, I can relate to how much guilt he is feeling, so I understand where he is coming from. As much as I wish you could be my daughter in law, I also understand where you are coming from too. It's hard to be with someone who acts like he doesn't love you. And, to be sincere, if you get into something with Atlas before he finds Athena, you might be getting only a part of his attention. He can spend nights outside his home as long as it has to do with finding Athena. He has done it before and maybe he knows he will do it again if there is a need to even if he gets married to you. I am sorry you have to pass through this."
She reached out to my hands and smiled. "Plus, you don't have to get married to my son to be a daughter of mine. I already consider you one."
I smiled at her and she smiled back. I leaned close to her and embraced her.
"So where are you having dinner?" She asked after we hugged. "Your room or the dining room."
"The dining room," I replied and she beamed.
"Good! Now we will be complete."
She led the way to the dining room and like she had promised, she pulled out a chair far away from where Atlas was seated and at an angle that made avoiding Atlas easy. "Thank you," I said in appreciation.
She went to sit beside her husband and she talked about our encounter at the garden.
Atlas got paranoid. He almost gathered warriors to go after the wolf, but Rita stopped him and told him that she had taken care of it.
From how Alpha Atlas had stopped to talk about going after the wolf afterward, I could tell that he was not her first time handling a situation like this and the respect I had for her increased greatly.

During the course of the dinner, Alpha Atlas kept on asking if I was okay with the food. I was trying to avoid him, but he kept on trying to engage in small talks with me, despite how every single person was present.
Unable to bear it any longer, I left the table. I wondered if he was doing this on purpose or if he was doing this because he felt
for what he did the last time we saw.
sorry
Whatever it was, I was no longer interested and just wished he could leave me alone.
"Did I do something wrong?" I heard Atlas ask immediately I left.
"Just eat your food and behave yourself," His mother said to him sternly. "I will talk to her."
I hastened my footsteps to my room and locked the door behind me.

9:30 AM
I took out my phone and immediately I switched it on, I got a text message. The message was from an unknown number, but I opened it up regardless.
There were photos attached to the message and when I saw the images, I flung the phone away.
There were images of Rita. The problem was that they were not just any image of Rita, but nude images.
I took a deep breath and then picked up my phone to see what the person had texted me.
'As you can see, these are nude images of your mother figure, Rita. I know she poisoned me and I have her nudes. If you don't want me to release them, get me the antidote. Be warned, if you show this message to anyone, including Rita herself, I will definitely release these images to the internet. Yours truthfully.
An old rival of Rita.'
There was a knock on the door. "Elaina, please open up."
It was Rita talking. I am still wondering if I could tell her what I was sent or if I should heed to the instructions of whoever sent me this.
I opened up the door and when she came in, I quickly locked the door behind her.
Before she opened her mouth to say anything, I showed her the message.
Her eyes widened in alarm. "It was Sebastian."
"Who is Sebastian?"
"A crazy ex. He is someone I thought was dead. Turns out he is still alive and it's back to cause trouble." She took my phone from me, looked at the message and scoffed. "He is still playing this game. How pathetic. When will he grow up?" "What will you do now?" I asked. This was not the reaction I was expecting from her, but I think I loved this reaction of hers.
"Sebastian has to die. He did not die before, he is dying now."
She gave me back my phone. "Text him. Tell him to meet you up at the warehouse down the street."
She turned away and headed for the door.
"What if he uploads the images?"
"I don't care. He can't try it. He knows he will face the wrath of my son and of my mate, so I know he won't dare to, else he would have messaged me directly." She scoffed. "He pulled this same trick on me some years back and was able to scare me "Thank you for with it. I am all grown now and I refuse to be as stupid as I was." She smiled and looked at me. Her eyes showing me his childish message and not being as foolish when I was as young as you are."
I smiled back at her. "You're welcome," I said and she pushed the door.
"I have to arrange a few things now. Whatever his response is, just forward them to my phone."This content © Nôv/elDr(a)m/a.Org.

RITA'S POV
I had suspected that he was one of the prisoners that was able to escape punishment through that prison guard.
I smirked. It was funny. He waited all this time to pull off a trick as stupid as the one he just did.
I went to the garage to get fuel and I got a matchbox from the kitchen. I also took a rope with me. This was all I needed. I walked up to my car, got in and awaited Rita's message.
In about an hour, she sent me the message I was waiting for and my engine roared to life. I texted her to send me warriors after thirty minutes and not to tell anybody about my whereabouts until then.
In less than thirty minutes, I got to the location where Sebastian was supposed to meet up with Elaina.
I took out a black hat with a veil and wore it. Then, I took out my red lipstick and used it on my lips, because red and black was the color of the day,
9:30 AM
I took out my binoculars and looked through it at the warehouse.
Sebastian was here with two bodyguards and I scoffed at how much of a coward he was,
I took out a portion Aunt Freya had made. According to her, it slows down the effects of silver bullets for as long as a month. 1 gulped it down, hoping that what she said was right.
It had to be right anyways. Her skills had increased to god level over the years and I loved it.
I got out of my car after taking out two guns. One was loaded with silver bullets and the other was loaded with sedative darts.
I took out the fuel, the rope and the matchbox I brought with me and marched to the warehouse.
"No guns allowed," One of Sebastian's bodyguards said and I rolled my eyes. 'How would I protect myself then?"
"If you don't-
He fell down flat to the ground dead and before his colleague could take out his gun to shoot me like I just did, I shot him
Two down, one to go."
Sebastian, attracted by the noise of gunshots, ran out of the warehouse to see what was going on. I shot him with the gun that had darts and like expected, he fell asleep immediately.
I tied him up immediately with my rope. After I was done with tying him up, I got as many tires I could find in the warehouse and piled it up on him till his neck level.
Then, I sat on a chair opposite him and waited for him to wake up.
One hour later, he woke up and the look of terror on his face was one of the best things I have seen in a long time.
I grinned. "Old friend, howdy."
"R-Rita?"
"Surprise!" I laughed. "Why are you so shocked to see me? You paid me a visit earlier today, didn't you? Of course, I would have to return the favor."
"Bitch," He spat. "What are you doing?"
I gritted my teeth, lunged at him quickly and struck him across the face.
"Mind how you talk to me,' I warned. "If you think that the Rita you are looking at now is the same as the Rita you once rejected, then you are greatly mistaken."
He looked down at the tires I had piled up on him and his face turned red immediately. Tears were beginning to well up on the one eye I had left him. Seeing this, I took out an empty small bottle from my pocket. I used the bottle to collect his teary and the more he tried to stop himself from crying, the more his tears flowed,
"Kita, please have mercy. He pleaded.
"I don't show mercy on stupid wolves. You had a chance to start a new life away from this place, but you chose to come bank. What is more annoying is the fact that you think that a stupid trick will work again on me. You think you're sman, Schatian, but you're the most stupid wolf I have ever seen"
I emptied the contents of the keg of fuel I brought on him and the tires.
He wept like a baby and muttered words of regret
I almost held back, but then my mind began to travel back. It traveled back to the day he rejected me. To the day he raped me. To the day he struck my face. To the day be made a foot out of me.
Then. I remembered Atlas's story of how he almost got poisoned. Then, it dawned on me that it was Sebastian
