Chapter 130 The Birthday
Ethan eagerly looked forward to meeting Avery day and night, stumbling towards her.
Avery smiled and reached out her hand to him. "Good boy, do you want to leave with me?"
Ethan didn't know what she meant, but since she reached out her hand to him, he just grabbed it.
Without hesitation, he placed his chubby hand in Avery's palm and let her pick him up, wrapping his
arms around her neck.
He rubbed against her like a little puppy and affectionately called out, "Mommy."
Avery looked at him tenderly. "Silly sweetheart, I'm not your mommy."
At this time, everyone gathered at the bow of the cruise ship to watch the fireworks on the water, and
she held the child unhindered.
Avery carried him back to her room, where there was a small cake. She put a birthday hat on the child,
lit the candles, and gently sang him a happy birthday song.
Ethan didn't know what she was doing, but he smiled when she smiled.
Avery took out an emerald lock from a small box. It had a unique and cute shape, with a translucent
emerald and a small carved word for "Ethan" on it.
"This is what I prepared for my baby. Since you are called by his name, I will give it to you."
The little guy reached out to grab the lock, and his smiling face resembled Jacob's.
Avery hung the lock around his neck and kissed Ethan on the face. "Baby, happy birthday."
She affectionately looked at Ethan, thinking that if her own child hadn't died, today would have been
like this.
Avery cut two pieces of cake and even picked out the cream and fruits for Ethan. He held the spoon but
didn't know how to eat, so he waved his chubby hands around helplessly.
Otherwise, he would lower his head and lick the plate, getting a little bit of cream on his small nose.
Avery gently looked at him. "Look at you, making a mess everywhere."
She laughed while eating the cake, but tears couldn't stop flowing from her eyes.
Seeing her shedding tears, Ethan tried to comfort her by babbling, "Waa wa... "
Avery wiped away her tears randomly. She held Ethan's body gently and said, "Baby, I used to have a
baby too."
Ethan didn't understand what she was saying, so he reached out and wiped the tears off Avery's face.
"But he went to a faraway place. I miss him every day. Ethan, why are you Layla's child?"
Avery sat down with him and didn't care whether he understood or not. She spoke incessantly, "I was Text property © Nôvel(D)ra/ma.Org.
also a little princess when I was your age. I had parents who loved me, but one day, my mother left. I
chased after the car, running until I fell, but I couldn't catch up to my mother. My father treated me well
and raised me. Then I fell in love with a man and had a baby with him. Later, my father got sick, our
family fell apart, the baby was gone, and even my loved one became an enemy. Am I such a failure?"
The child hugged Avery tightly, and her tears rolled down onto Ethan's neck.
Ethan didn't know why she had so many tears, but he knew that he didn't want this woman in front of
him to cry.
"Mommy, no, no," he struggled to pronounce, unable to say more.
Avery wiped away her tears and, according to the original plan, carried Ethan to the deck on the
second floor.
