Chapter 294
Chapter 294
“Russel, are you okay?” I really didn’t know how to describe the two of them.
Russel smiled, lying on the ground with his eyes closed.
Chloe squatted down, trying to wipe the blood off his face, but he suddenly opened his eyes and pushed her hand away.
Chloe stared at him dumbfounded, unable to react for a moment.
“Neil, get up!” I urgently pulled Neil’s hand, trying to make him stand up
Neil stood up but gave me a cold look and left.
His look startled me, and I didn’t know what had happened.
Fortunately, Mitch followed him. Maybe I can learn what happened from him later.
“Ms. Reynolds, I’ll leave the rest to you. Sorry, I didn’t expect this to happen.” I said to Chloe.
“I see.” Chloe’s expression was complicated, but she nodded in understanding.
I knew I couldn’t stay here any longer. Now, everyone was buzzing with talk, either about Malinda or speculating about what Neil and Bonnie had done in the room.
People were also looking at me from time to time. Their curious gaze made me very uncomfortable.
After leaving the Orchid Hotel, I was stopped by Kitty.
She didn’t look well, and there was a slap mark on her face. It looked like she had been hit. Her eyes were red, but she didn’t cry, obviously holding back..
“What happened?” I asked in surprise.
‘Nothing. I got slapped by my dad.” Kitty touched her face, forcing out a smile, “Irene, Neil seems to have deep feelings for you. Was it a bit presumptuous of me to compete with you?”
My mind was a mess at this point. Seeing Kitty’s downcast expression, I couldn’t help but comfort her, “No. You are special to Neil. His feelings for me are just resentment. The reason I agreed to live with him again was to make him tired of me and see his true heart.”
This reason was convincing. Kitty thought for a while and then nodded, “Okay, I believe you.”
I felt a bit guilty. I made up this reason on the spot, but it did not contradict my real intention.
“Why did your dad hit you?” I asked again.
“Neil and Bonnie have been entangled until now. Everyone has seen it,” Kitty pouted, “My dad thinks I shouldn’t give up my dignity to pursue Neil, so he slapped me. What right does he have to control me? He never took good care of me. He’s just an irresponsible father.”
I told her calmly, “Kitty, your father’s worries are not unreasonable. Look at Neil’s past scandals and his relationship with Bonnie now. These are things you need to consider. Even if he is with you, you may not be able to adapt to that kind of life.” Kitty thought for a moment seriously, then showed a grateful smile as she said, “I understand, but I’ve always been a stubborn person. When that day comes, I won’t blame anyone but myself.” ConTEent bel0ngs to Nôv(e)lD/rama(.)Org .
“Alright. Good luck.” I smiled and said goodbye to Kitty.
I wasn’t sure if Neil had returned to Sterling Estates, so I needed to go back and check. I needed to know what he meant by what he said today.
When I got back to Sterling Estates, Hannah told me that Neil hadn’t come back.
It was almost eleven o’clock at night.
I wasn’t worried that Neil would be in danger. What I was worried about was that some things might affect the deal between him and me.
“Ms. Finch, are you okay?” Hannah suddenly asked me.
I’m fine. What’s up?” I replied.
She handed me her phone. It turned out that someone had posted Neil and Bonnie’s scandal online. The video content was very explicit; the first half was Malinda making love in public, and the second half was Neil and Bonnie walking out of the room in disarray.
The most liked comment was ‘A love story between a domineering CEO and a pure beauty! It seemed that everything in the past was just a seasoning for their love!’
Hannah saw these and was worried that I would be hit.
I returned the phone to her, then answered casually. “I’m fine. I’m used to it.”
She looked worried but didn’t say anything more. It seemed that I needed to be alone for a while.
The servants had already gone to bed. I went upstairs alone to the master bedroom,
I felt uneasy.
In the quiet room, the phone rang suddenly. Although I was a little scared, I quickly answered the call. It was Stella.
She relayed what she had learned from Mitch and explained the meaning of Neil’s words. The truth was very surprising.
“Could Russel be that kind of person?” Stella’s tone was full of disbelief.
“How could this happen?” I was also in shock and couldn’t recover for a while.
I had visited Russel not long ago when he showed me the screenshots of his conversation with Neil. Unexpectedly. someone took a photo of our meeting and sent it to Neil this morning.
This directly led to Neil’s suspicion of me, so he refused to go to the engagement banquet with me.
And it was because of jealousy that he ignored me deliberately at the hotel, giving Bonnie the opportunity to be alone with
him.
However, the person who sent him the photos was Russel. Even Bonnie used Russel’s name to successfully deceive Neil into entering the room with her.
No wonder Neil was so angry with Russel.
“Where is Neil now?” I recovered from my shock and asked nervously.
He must think that I met Russel that day because there were still feelings between me and Russel. I have to explain it to
him.
Otherwise, both my dad’s and Oscar’s affairs will be delayed.
Stella gave me the address of a nightclub and told me that Mitch and Cooper were also there.
Without a word, I immediately drove to the nightclub. They didn’t book a private room today but sat in a booth on one side. The round table in the middle was full of drinks, and under the glasses, there were stacks of cash.
Two ladies who were playing drinking games were with Neil, their legs suggestively draped over his.
Seeing me approach, Mitch heaved a sigh of relief as he said, “Took you long enough. Get Neil home, will ya? I gotta go care of the kids.”
“I gotta crash early tonight too,” Cooper chimed in uncharacteristically.
take
Neil glanced at me, his eyes void of warmth. He grabbed some bills from the table and stuffed them into the bosom of one of the ladies,
Mitch and Cooper exchanged a look before making a swift exit.
“Neil, lay off the booze,” I said, taking a seat and trying to keep cool. “When we get home, I can explain everything to you.”
“And after your explanation, you’ll just use me again, right?” Neil sneered. “I tossed the ring he gave you, but you still went to see him yourself. I never realized how smitten you are with him.”
