Chapter 1277 An Original Creature

Chapter 1277 An Original Creature

There was no concept of time in the cave. Regardless of how long Darren stayed inside, the time

outside would not change.

He continued with his cultivation. Because his soul and talent were very powerful, his physical strength

soon reached the level of the Primary God Realm.

'Good. This body is not as weak as it used to be, ' he thought.

Darren released his soul completely. His body could carry it now.

'My new body has reached its limit, ' he mused. 'After all, I have only relied on the god's power to

improve my physical strength. It still needs to be honed through fights in order to get stronger.'

Even if Darren continued to nourish his body with the god's power, his physical strength would remain

at the same level. It could not increase any further.

Moreover, within his new body, there was no Sword God Character or Blade God Character or other

things in his elixir field, which he could use to develop powerful skills.

He knew that if he wanted to break through the stone walls of the cave, his physical strength needed to

surpass the Celestial God Realm. Darren frowned, deep in thought. It would be very difficult to achieve

that.

'I have no choice, ' he thought. 'I must go to Supreme God Sheffield's tomb.'

He decided that his best course of action was to go to the tomb and look around. With luck, he would

be able to find and kill some ferocious creatures. With his Evolution Force, he would then be able to

greatly increase his physical strength over a short period of time.

Darren began walking along the path towards the entrance of the cave.

It took a while to reach the entrance.

He concealed all his auras and paused at the mouth of the cave. Cautiously, he stepped out, gazing

around for his target.

Although he possessed a body now, his physical strength was only equivalent to the Primary God

Realm. He was still far too weak. At this level, it felt like even a strong wind would tear him apart.

'This might be too difficult after all, ' he thought, shaking his head.

Now that he was outside the cave, he couldn't help realizing how hard it would be to catch other

creatures. The odds were definitely against him.

He stopped only a short distance from the cave entrance. He didn't dare to venture too far. He

reasoned that the best course of action would be to wait here.

After some time, his patience was rewarded. A fiend approached the area where Darren stood waiting.

Its body was entirely covered with scales.

'This creature must be above the Celestial God Realm!' he thought. He was silent and unmoving,

worried that any motion would alert the fiend to his hiding place. He did not want to risk provoking it.

His uneasiness grew as another creature drew nearer. This one looked like a fierce dog with three

heads. It released an astonishingly powerful aura.

'This creature is even more powerful than the other one. It must be at the top level of the Celestial God

Realm, ' he thought.

Darren was so still that he could feel dust settling over his motionless body, as though he were a stone.

Something howled in the distance.

There was an answering howl.

These two new voices immediately attracted Darren's attention.

He squinted, looking into the distance, and saw two enormous creatures colliding with each other. They

were gigantic, almost as large as mountains. Their bodies were covered with horrible wounds.

Darren saw his opportunity. He held his breath, watching the battle intently.

He had been hoping that powerful creatures would fight with each other in his proximity.

The two enormous creatures fought with increasing ferocity, causing severe injuries to each other.

Finally, one of them collapsed and stopped moving. The other teetered, then fell over as well. They

were dead.

Darren was exhilarated.

He felt as though he had been waiting for this moment for a very long time.

Instantly, he flew away from his hiding place, activating his God Character.

He simultaneously released the power of the Assimilating Force and the Evolution Force, shooting

them into the two huge corpses that lay motionless on the ground.

With a boom, the energy entered the corpses.

Two rays of light surged in his mind like a river. One of them turned into a talent, while the other flowed

through his meridians.

Darren could feel his physical strength increasing by leaps and bounds.

His meridians broke and reformed repeatedly. Within seconds, Darren's strength had grown

exponentially. His body now was comparable to that of a warrior at the top level of the Star God Realm.

This exceeded all his expectations. "What the hell!" he exclaimed aloud.

The Evolution Force was simply amazing. His physical strength had reached the top level of the Star

God Realm. He flexed his muscles, testing and marveling at his own strength.

However, as he considered the astounding increase in his strength, he realized that the Evolution

Force probably wasn't the main factor. After all, the two creatures he had absorbed were incredibly

powerful—both of them were at the upper-level of the Celestial God Realm Property belongs to Nôvel(D)r/ama.Org.

'Not bad, ' he thought with a faint grin. 'At least now I can move around, as long as I don't call attention

to my presence.'

Darren walked forward, shaking off the dust that still clung to his body.

He kept a sharp eye out for any sign of another fight. Conflict among the various creatures in this tomb

was not uncommon. As long as he was patient, he would no doubt stumble upon the scene of another

battle.

Eventually, Darren came across a group of creatures fighting each other.

The strength of each beast seemed to be equivalent to that of warriors at the low-level of the Celestial

God Realm. The fight was brutal, and many of the creatures already lay dead on the ground.

Unfortunately for Darren, too much time had elapsed since the creatures died, so by now their talent

and Evolution Force had already dissipated. He could only absorb those if he acted as soon as

possible after the moment of death. He lingered on the periphery of the battle, waiting for other

creatures to get killed. He would try to grab the chance to assimilate their talent and Evolution Force.

Finally, the battle died down, and Darren swooped in to increase his own strength level. Without

wasting any time, he set off again to resume his search for other creatures he could assimilate.

He persisted in his efforts, until one day, his hard work paid off. After so much struggle, he had

achieved his goal—his physical strength had reached the Celestial God Realm!

If the time that had passed was compared against the outside world, it would be measured in

thousands of years. "I've succeeded at last," Darren said, reveling in his accomplishment. He was

relieved.

Now he needed to break through that stone wall.

He headed back in the direction of the cave. It was some distance away, for his journey had taken him

far away.

Several hundred kilometers from the edge of the cave, Darren caught sight of a short creature standing

in his way. The creature resembled a monkey, except his body was covered with feathers.

The feathered monkey saw Darren and laughed coldly. "You have intruded into my territory! Are you

going to try to escape?"

Darren's heart sank. This creature might be at the low-level of the Celestial God Realm.

There was no Sword God Character or Blade God Character in Darren's new body. He also did not

have the black pyramid. His new body no longer had many of the skills he had previously possessed.

Thus, in a fight with an opponent of the same realm as himself, he knew he would lose.

He decided to try convincing the creature to let him go. "What can I do for you to let me pass?" he

asked.

The creature snorted. "Don't be naive. This is the eighty-first day since my birth. I just want to have a

taste of delicious blood. You are the one who ventured into my turf, so I cannot let you live," sneered

the feathered monkey. The black feathers on his body gleamed.

Darren's eyes narrowed at the creature's words. So the feathered monkey had only been born eighty-

one days ago?

And he claimed to possess the strength of the Celestial God Realm already? It was unbelievable.

"You're a good liar, but your story is impossible," Darren said coolly. "If it's true that you've only existed

for eighty-one days, you should be crawling on the ground. How could you have achieved such a high

level of strength at this point?" Darren was deliberately goading the monkey, and it worked.

"How dare you doubt me?" the monkey demanded, sounding outraged. "I am an Original Creature

formed by a new law, born between heaven and earth. You should feel blessed to have met me." The

monkey glared menacingly at Darren.

Darren laughed. "Fine, keep lying! I have never heard of any Original Creature in my life. That's a good

story," he said in a scornful tone.

The monkey flared up. "You're really pissing me off," the creature growled.

"I am an Original Creature, capable of merging the strength of others. Once I have killed any creature, I

can inherit and merge all of their strength with mine. It's definitely a useful power to have! At this rate, it

won't be long before I rule the world and take control of everything.

I will even kill the arrogant chief gods and replace them! To me, you are like an ignorant ant, yet you

dare to mock me!"

Darren was stunned. "Merging?" he repeated, gazing warily at the monkey. Was there really such a

powerful law in the world? Was the monkey really transformed from the Original Law?

Darren looked at the furious monkey. "I don't think you should kill me if you really have that ability," he

said calmly. He watched as the monkey frowned, trying to understand what he had said. It was to

Darren's advantage that the monkey did not seem to be very intelligent. Otherwise the creature would

have killed him already.

"Why not?" snapped the monkey at last, evidently deciding that Darren was bluffing. "Do you think I'm

an idiot?"

Darren said, "What good will it do to you if you kill me? My strength is much lower than yours. Wouldn't

your strength become weaker if you merge with mine?" It was flawed logic, but he hoped it would

confuse the monkey.

"You think too much," the monkey snorted. "Even without my merging ability, I'd kill you just because I

want to eat your flesh and blood." The monkey moved forward, licking his lips.
