Chapter 140_ The return 1
The door to Liam’s office flung wide opened as Allison forced her way in.
“Liam!”
“just do as I say” Liam mumbled to the person over the phone before he turned to her.
“You do know that I can punish you so badly for barging into my office that way and too with no appointment” Liam said with a serious tone.
Allison banged his table harshly as she glared at him. “Our wedding is coming up next month what are you doing about it? and what was that last night? you praised your mum instead of me?”
Liam buzzed the intercom, he had no time to spare on a crazy fellow like her.
“I’m talking to you Liam! are you still thinking about that b*tch?! the one who cheated on you with your half brother?”
Liam sprang up to his feet and caught hold of her neck “If you say one more word… I’ll send your corpse to your father, don’t try to test my patience and abilities”
Two guards entered his office, he released his grip on her and pushed her towards them.
“Take her away and if she steps into this building again you will have me to deal with”
Allison struggled with them as they pulled her out “Let go of me! argghh… you can’t do this to me Liam… leave me scoundrels!”
The door closed and peace returned to the office once more..
His gaze trailed off in one direction, he stared at the pink fluffy sofa in his office.
He changed it from its white design to a pink one after Amelia suggested it.
Everyday felt like a nightmare without her by his side, he had gotten so used to her around even though it was just few months they spent together.. but she betrayed his trust, no matter how hard he tried to erase her from his mind, he still failed at it..
.
Amelia had a smile on her lips when she woke up, she turned to her side but Aidan was nowhere to be found.
“Aidan” she called out only to receive silence in return…
She came out of his room and headed downstairs.. “Is Aidan downstairs?” she asked one of the servants that was passing by.
“Yes ma’am”
Amelia sighed in relief and went down, she could smell a mouth watering aroma coming from the kitchen..
“Hey mum!” Aidan waved as he pulled her to sit next to him.
“Hello Aidan’s mum” the kids greeted with a smile plastered on their faces.
Aidan leaned forward to Amelia’s ear “Your husband is making breakfast to impress me and my friends”
“Address him as your dad…”
Aidan paused his lips, that would be in his dreams, he hated it whenever he calls Jason his dad.
“Nah I will pass it this time”
Jason walked into the dining room and sat down while the maids did the serving.
“You made breakfast today, what’s so special about today?”
Jason’s grey orbs stared at her “I met you today!” he announced with a grin on his lips.
Amelia’s face fell, today was the exact date she left Liam and everyone else.
Jason noticed the change in her expression and sighed..”The kids are here at least you have to act happy, don’t ruin your mood this morning please”
Aidan shot jason a look “What did you say to make my mum sad?”
Jason smiled and ruffled Aidan’s hair, sometimes Aidan reminds him of someone he knows.
“Oh the cutie wants to fight me for his mum’s sake”
Amelia kissed Aidan’s cheeks and whispered some words into his ears which made him smile.
“We need to talk after breakfast Amelia” Jason announced which she nodded to..
.
Jason handed a white sheet of paper to Amelia, she collected it and began scanning through it.
“This is a transfer letter Jason why would your dad do that?”
Jason sighed “there’s a feud going on between my relatives and the only way to do resolve that is if I go back to our city permanently”
Amelia’s lips parted, she spranged up to her feet as she saw the city on the paper.. the city where she had left everything behind.
“I’m sure there must be some other way to resolve their issues without us going back there” Amelia worriedly stated.
Jason held her shoulder “I can promise you that all will go well… and it’s a good thing also I can get to expand my business over there… an investor recently called me for a one on one chat”
Amelia sighed in defeat, what other choice does she have?
“So when are we leaving?”
“This weekend” Jason announced and left the room.
Amelia crumpled the sheet of paper and threw it away in annoyance.
“I don’t want to see him anymore”
..
Brianna massaged Liam’s stiff shoulders gently, her poor son has been working endlessly to punish himself.
“Liam dear… the mayor called”
Liam closed his eyes, he was enjoying the feeling of her hands on his shoulder which worked like magic.
“I’m sure his daughter must have mentioned our bad encounter today” Liam murmured.
Brianna sighed “When will you get to move on with your life? at least pity me and give me some grandchildren”
Liam held her hands on his shoulder, he sat up and stared at her face.
“Mum… I’m really sorry that you won’t be able to hold or play with your grandchildren because I’ve decided not to have any or get married to any other lady”
Brianna placed her palm over his mouth “Stop saying such… don’t make me upset with you.. I already told you that you should forget about whatever happened between you and Amelia”
Hearing her name again seemed to pull a string in his heart.
“Mum you knew how much I loved Amelia.. we planned a future together… that day she left I was planning to propose to her… but what did she do?”
Brianna planted a kiss on his forehead “I know what it feels like… I really didn’t see her as that kind of lady, I guess we were wrong about her”
Liam closed his eyes and rested back on his seat, he thought his feelings for her would have been dead by now but.. darn! he was wrong.
He felt like ending it all, she came into his life like a cloud and left also the same way she came.
“She didn’t even say goodbye, or come to see me one last time… she could have given me a valid reason” he murmured.
Brianna stroked his hair slowly, she had tried to set him up on blind dates over the years but he blatantly declined them all.
The door to his office opened after a small knock, his assistant came in with a brown envelope.
“Good day ma’am, boss this came in for you just now”
Liam accepted the envelope and waved her off, “Liam who is it from?”
Liam pulled out several photos from it and his gaze darkened.
Brianna picked a photo and stared at it in disgust, in the photo was Amelia and Nicholas embracing each other in what seems like a hospital.
Liam noticed how happy she was in the photos with Nicholas which made him wonder how she hid such a big thing away from him.
Brianna gathered the photo and shredded it to small pieces, her son has gone through enough to be constantly reminded of her.
“Who sent it?” she turned the envelope upside down and a white note slipped out.
Liam picked up the note and stared at the words scribbled on it.
‘Today makes it five years in which you lost your
wife to me, that day was the best thing that has
ever happened to me’
Liam crumpled the sheet of paper in his palm, he didn’t need a genie to tell him who this note was from.
Even though Nicholas was in prison he still managed to send him this… maybe it was time he paid that scoundrel a visit.NôvelDrama.Org © content.
