Chapter 5
Chapter 005 Coming to a club with her son The auction had begun when Annette arrived with Wancy.
It was easy to spot the location of Vianne - the most outstanding part of the club.
Wancy kept exclaiming at everything around since this was the first time he'd visited such a place.
"Annette! It is superb here! Whoa!"
He just hadn’t seen much of this world.
Vianne got carried away at the sight of cute little Wancy who was wearing a black peaked cap, a black jean jacket, black trousers to go with black boots, and particularly, with his little face of fine features.
She couldn't help screaming, "Gosh! Annette! This little boy of yours is so cute! Now I want to have my own baby!"
Annette didn’t answer Vianne who was making too big a fuss about nothing.
Seated herself on the sofa, she tossed a carton of milk to Wancy.
"Don't you expect to touch alcohol tonight."
Her remarks were slow but powerful.
Wancy twitched his mouth and thrust a straw into the carton, while his sister selected a bottle of beer and knocked it at a smart angle to the table corner, having the bottle cap flipping high, precisely captured in the air and casually tossed onto the table.
Annette was so cool! "When will it be the jade’s turn?"
Annette asked after taking a drink.
"The auction has just begun.
They won't turn to the last piece until one hour later."
Pointing at a booth on the second floor with her jaw, Vianne said with a smirk, "That's Waynett."
Annette looked over there slowly as she drank her beer, which showed the attractive curve of her neck and her fair skin.
Then man idly leaned on the sofa, resting his arms at the back.
He had the black sleeves tucked up his well-knit arms, and was holding the cigarette between his long and clean fingers.
As the light swept through, his stunning side face stood out in the smoke.
"Oh."
Annette snapped her gaze back quietly.
"Only an ‘oh’?"
Vianne's eyes dilated.
"Hey Annette, you can’t turn your nose up at Waynett because of your matchless beauty!"
"Not my cup of tea."
Annette’s answer was dry enough, leaving Vianne speechless.
The second floor. NôvelDrama.Org © 2024.
Waynett had actually noticed Annette as soon as she entered the club.
Not because he had too much time and too few things to do.
But because of the fuss at the gate when Annette was stopped and questioned by the club bouncer as she tried to bring in a kid here.
They weren't let go until Annette said something.
Quite a turmoil downstairs there was when this woman tried to bring her son into here.Especially when Annette happened to be such a beauty that many men’s eyes locked on her blatantly.
It was along the direction of his sight that his companions noticed that scene.
"This is the first time I saw such an interesting combo visiting a club."
Ray clicked his tongue.
That little boy was just like a mini-sized replica of that woman, both in full black.
Mother and son did resemble each other.
Shaking his goblet leisurely, Kellen looked downstairs — he could catch the sight of Wancy right in the front from where he sat - and he nearly got his glasses sliding down.
"Look, the kid is drinking milk."
"Damn it! Drinking milk in a pub? That's something new!"
Ray stretched his neck ahead.
"Both girls are quite good-looking."
Kellen added.
Both were good-looking, but these two ladies had each own style.
The one wearing no makeup had such remarkable facial features that they were unbelievably delicate, so was the kid.
Ray nodded.
Waynett didn’t utter anything.
For these dandies, the curiosity on nothing could last for more than half a minute.
They soon lost interests in these three new faces.
Ray brought forward the serious matter, "Waynett, you haven't located that legendary doctor, have you?"
Kellen raised his head to listen.
Waynett took a puff with slight anxiety in the eyes.
"No.
That guy has got at least two hackers to cover the traces."
"No one has ever seen what the doctor is like? We don’t even know the gender.
But it really doesn’t make sense that the doctor never left any trace as long as he or she does exist in this world."
Kellen couldn't understand.
"Can't blame Waynet's for losing the track.
The places that doctor visited are all weird, like schools or pubs, far from anything a real doctor would have been!"
Ray added.
And those venues were always full of too many people for them to locate a single target.
Kellen agreed, "No worries, Waynet, your Lancaster family has that many excellent doctors.
Your grandma will be OK."
Waynett snuffed out the cigarette.
"That piece of jade is really that magical? More effective than any sleeping pill?"
"It's hearsay as we've never set eyes on it or tried it out.
But the reputation of Crystal Eyes is the endorsement for their items up for bidding."
Old Mrs Lancaster had been so badly ill that she couldn't even fall asleep now.
Might grasp at a straw as well.
Waynett gave the auction deck a glance.
That jade was coming soon.
