Chapter 640
Chapter 640
Master Gould did exactly what he said and went to Bob right after that, leaving Kayson and Vivian.
Vivian spoke up softly. “Mr. Yarde...”
“Just call me by my name.”
Vivian beamed and said gently, “Kayson, you‘ve saved me twice. I‘ll buy you a meal.”
Kayson agreed with a nod and the two of them went out.
The Soul–silencing Curse had affected Vivian for about two years, so she was semi–unfamiliar with how much society had changed. Kayson had also always lived in the village, and it had only been a little over a month since he had come to the city, so the two of them were actually pretty similar.
They casually picked a restaurant and took a seat after ordering food.
Vivian sighed. “I feel like I was in a long dream...”
Kayson understood what she meant and told her, “Stop thinking about the past. Since the danger has been resolved, it‘s more important to keep looking forward.”
Vivian beamed radiantly. “You‘re right. I just feel rather emotional. It‘s like losing two years of your life, don‘t you think?”
“Don‘t be too sad about it. Those people will pay for it. Grandpa Zidane won‘t let them off the hook.”
“My grandpa treats me the best.” Vivian nodded.
The two of them chatted while they waited for the food to be served. Vivian was actually an optimistic girl. She was 21 years old and she was supposed to be in university, but she had wasted two years because of the Soul–silencing Curse.
It was fortunate that Zidane had applied for a break on her behalf, so she could still go back to school once the semester started
Kayson asked, “Where are you studying?”
“I‘m studying history at Skyspring University. My friends from freshman year are probably preparing for an internship now,” Vivian replied.
Kayson felt quite envious as he commented, “You get to go to school, though. Forget about university, I haven’t even been to pre–school.”
Vivian was shocked. “For real? But you‘re so skilled!”
Kayson winced. “I have lived in the mountains since I was a kid. All my knowledge comes from my mentor.”
“Then your mentor must be amazing!” Vivian grinned. “If you‘re interested, I can take you around Skyspring University when classes start.”
“Can you do that?”
“Of course. Universities everywhere are open to outsiders, so everyone can visit.”
Kayson replied, “I didn‘t know that. Do give me a tour then.”
“Sure thing!” Then, Kayson espied a familiar silhouette hurrying outside through the glass. The person saw him as well and looked delighted, changing direction to enter the restaurant hastily before
approaching Kayson.
The person seemed thrilled . “Mr. Yarde! It‘s wonderful to see you here!”
Kayson was surprised. “Silvan? Why are you here?”
The guy was the police captain, Evan‘s mentee, and a distant Killick, Silvan.
Back when Kayson had saved Evan and discovered the crystallized energy underneath the pool, Silvan had been there as well. Contentt bel0ngs to N0ve/lDrâ/ma.O(r)g!
Silvan‘s eyes were red as he moved to get on his knees with gritted teeth.
Kayson stopped him and asked, “What are you doing?”
“Mr. Yarde, I‘m begging you to help me!” Silvan pleaded in a shaky voice.
