Bailey's pov

My heart thrums in my chest painfully as I glowered at the bracelet in his hand, hoping that I was imagining things. But as time passed, I realize that the hand was still there and the bracelet was very well there too.

How did he even know I was here?!

My mouth suddenly goes dry when he speaks again, his voice holding so much amusement. " Are you going to stay under my bed the entire night Bailey?"

He playfully waggle the bracelet, as if taunting me.

I knew I couldn't stay hidden under his bed forever, and I also needed to come up with an explanation for being in his room and looking for the bracelet. Panic set in as I realized I couldn't just stay silent.

With a deep breath, I squeezed my way out from under his bed, standing up and dusting myself off while I looked at the floor, now finding it more fascinating than conversing with him.

" You need to sweep under your bed, it's dusty." I grumble, trying to play it cool and coy despite knowing how I was caught red handed. This is so embarrassing. There was really no explanation that can save me from this kind of mortifcation.

Kaleb chuckled, clearly enjoying the situation. I squirmed, feeling the weight of his eyes on me. Little goosebumps raise on my skin as he took a step forward, leading him directly in front of me, just a couple inches apart.

" Are you really trying to change the subject, Bailey?" His voice loaded with amusement. " Have you come all the way here for this?" He dangled the bracelet in my face, teasing me.

I ignored his taunt and lied. " It's dark, I can't see what you're showing me here." I tried to side step him but he gripped my arm, preventing me from moving away from him.

He let out a heavy sigh, almost like he was frustrated with me. " This is getting fucking ridiculous Bailey. I know this bracelet belongs to you."

I wrenched my hand out of his hold, glaring at him and rubbing the skin where he touched, trying to rub off the feeling of his fingers on me. " Many bracelets look the same. It's not mine."

Kaleb let out an irritated grunt and moved away from me as if angered. He stormed away and I take that as my chance to escape but his gruff voice stops me. " If you leave, I'll call the cops."

I froze.

He wouldn't......

The light suddenly is switched on and I pinched my eyes at the abrupt assault.

" You trespassed," He chuckled supposedly already knowing he had me in the palm of his hand. Not liking the feeling, I whipped around and glared at him.

His smirk is wide on his face, the slight dimple on his cheek showing. His eyes peer at me across the room and he chuckled. " You'd look hot in handcuffs, flower."

I pressed my teeth together, grinding as I sneered at him. I cross my arms and kept my glare on my face.

Kaleb's playful attitude didn't waver, even as I stood there, fuming with embarrassment and frustration. He continued to taunt me with that infuriating smirk on his face, making me boil with anger silently.

He struts over to me, his gaze never leaving mine and I couldn't help but feel a strange mingle of annoyance and want. He stops before me, his faint cologne reaching my nose once more and making my mouth water.

"You know, Bailey, this is quite a predicament you've put yourself in. Sneaking into a guy's room in the middle of the night and refusing to admit it's your bracelet... It's almost like you wanted to get caught." He teased, dangling the bracelet in my vision.

My heart sped, knowing that there was no way I can deny that this was not my bracelet any longer. I looked away from him, my cheeks burning as I tried to defend myself.

" I wasn't looking for the bracelet. I came here to finish the prank me and Mira were supposed to do earlier."

Kaleb snorted, clearly not convinced by my weak attempt at lying. " If that's the truth, shall I call Mira to ask her if her friend is here to prank me?"

He made a move to step away and my instincts had me grabbing his hand. My fingers wrap around his bigger wrist, and I'm silently perplexed by how I couldn't wrap my fingers all the way.

" Wait, okay, Mira doesn't know I am here," I let my hand fall to my side as I felt embarrassed and backed into a corner. Dammit, I should've never come here.

" Look, when Mira and I were getting ready for the party last night, I came to your room to get the blow dryer you took from her. My bracelet must've slipped from my wrist without me knowing. I realized it was gone and came here to retrieve it before you got the wrong idea." Content held by NôvelDrama.Org.

I didn't technically lie, Mira did send me to take her blow dryer in his room. I just hope he bought it.

The pregnant pause in the room is stifling until Kaleb chuckled, shaking his head as if he found the whole situation absurd. "You expect me to believe that? The bracelet was in my sheets, peeking just

under one of the pillows. How did it get there Bailey? How did it slip in my bed?"

Feeling caught, the blood drains from my face. Oh no, what lie can get me out of this, this time? I am running out of them.

Frustrated, I moved away from him and glared into his eyes. I had to crane my neck and always hated that he was taller than me.

" Look," I spat, suddenly feeling naked under his eyes as he had that strange gleam in his eyes that made me feel hot all over. " I don't have to explain myself to you! Keep the damn bracelet if you want, just let me leave."

His brow arched, amusement swirling in his gaze. " You're really defensive there flower."

I huffed, throwing my hands up in frustration. " I'm leaving." I turn around to do just that when his voice stopped me again.

" Unless you want to walk out of here with handcuffs then I'd suggest you to stay."

My heart pounds. Why can't he let me leave!

I whirled around angrily and marched toward him. I poked his chest. "What the hell is wrong with you Sam?"

He grab my hand, his fingers around the bone of my wrist. His head deep, making me realized just how close we were.

Great Bailey, you walked into that one your damn self.

He lowered his voice to a seductive whisper. "Well, since you're already here, and you don't want me to call the cops, how about you give me a little something in return? You know, to make up for

trespassing and lying?"

I narrowed my eyes, feeling the warmth of his breath on my lips. "What the hell do you want Sam?"

His eyes bore into mine deeply when he uttered. " You."
