His name was Eli, a warlock with a reputation for powerful and dangerous magic. At first, she was hesitant to trust in the use of magic, knowing it was forbidden by the Alpha King and the royal pack. She didn't want to risk her life any further, but as desperation took hold, she pushed those thoughts aside and put her faith in Eli's abilities. All for the chance that Ezra would choose her, instead of the orphan girl who was believed to be the key to the prophecy.

More than just wanting a happily ever after with her destined mate, she yearned to be a respected and influential Luna, trusted and listened to by all. In her mind, no one else was worthy of such a position except herself. "Luna! There's another injured warrior returning from the border!"

As Rose's panicked voice echoed through the pack house, Miranda winced and massaged her temple before reluctantly making her way downstairs to see the injured warrior. Since her mate Ezra and his parents were off managing the damage at the main factory, she was left in the pack house to deal with the reports that would come pouring in. As soon as she stepped outside of the pack house, Miranda's stomach churned at the sight of two warriors in their wolf form, limping towards her with blood dripping from their fur and wounds marring their bodies. The stench of blood and dirt filled the air, making her head spin and her heart race with fear and worry. warriors surrounding the pack house.

"Take them to the pack physician's clinic" Her voice carried a commanding tone as she barked out orders, to thwingen her nails in anxious worry. The fear of being discovered clawed at her mind, sending shivers down her spine. She had always brushed off the prophecy Once the warriors had taken t them away, she hurried inside the pack house and sank onto the plush sofa, gnawing on

as mere superstition, nothing to be concerned about. But now, after witnessing this tragedy unfold before her eyes, she realized that she had made a grave mistake. It wouldn't be long until questions arose from within the park about why they were facing such misfortune instead of the wealth and power they had been waiting for. If these unfortunate events continued, it would become increasingly difficult for her to maintain her carefully crafted reputation and conceal her true identity. "Are you okay?" Lorena asked as she approached Miranda, who was visibly distressed by the sudden turn of events. She had been watching her closely ever since news of the rogue attack broke out, and it was clear that there was more to her worry and unease than just the current problem at hand. It was almost as if Miranda was battling with some inner demons, struggling against an unseen threat that only she knew of. Lorena couldn't help but wonder what could be causing their new Luna to act so anxiously. Rogue attacks were not uncommon; even the Silver Pack where Miranda came from had surely experienced them before... But the way she was acting right now it seemed it wasn't the rogue attacks that were affecting her emotions rather, something else had brought her to this state "Luna Miranda," she called out to her again when she didn't respond to her question. When she received no response to her call, Lorena placed a hand on her shoulder, squeezing gently, giving her an indication that she wanted to know whatever was 12:29 Fri, Oct 18

Miranda was jolted from her thoughts as Lorena shook her shoulder. Her g kly snapped towards her face, and she realized she had been staring off into space. She then looked down at her own brands, realizing that she had been holding them in a tight grip due to her stress. As soon as she noticed, she released them and let out a heavy sigh, trying to relax. "What's the matter?" she rubbed her temple once more, and just as Loren was about to respond, Ezra returned and Miranda hummed over to her mate, noticing the furrowed brow on his face Deal, how's-

"Just give me a moment, I need to check on the wounded warriors." Ezra cut her off sharply, striding past her without even acknowledging her presence. Her heart stung at the harshness of his words, and she couldn't hold back a small whimper. Lorena, who had been observing their interaction unsympathetically, couldn't help but notice that there was something different about their relationship lately. Ezra seemned colder towards his mate now, ever since Helga and the Alpha King had stayed at their pack house. Suddenly, something clicked in her mind-something she had pondered before but dismissed until now. until now.

"Are you really the key to the prophecy?" Lorena muttered, but Miranda's senses were so sensitive right now that she caught her words and whirled around to glare at her. "What did did you say?" she asked, trying to hide the panic that was starting to set in. "I'm asking if you're really the key to the prophecy?" Lorena repeated her question, this time out loud with determination in her voice and fire in her eyes. Just thinking about Miranda being fake and Helga being the key to the prophecy made Lorena shudder as the realization of the truth slowly dawned on her. The sudden string of spoke, her voice quivering despite her attempt to keep it steady.

"Are you seriously asking me that? After all this time?" Miranda unfortunate events, following closely after Ezra and Miranda's marriage, couldn't be mere coincidence.

"Yes. You

Lorena pondered, and everyone who had the maids who were slowly losing their admiration for Miranda after she and Ezra were humiliated by the Queen and King not too long ago.

Anger bubbled up inside her chest, and she fought to contain the outburst threatening to break free. The fear that someone would question her identity or accuse her "So, what t are you implying? That I That I am a a fake?" Miranda seethed, of being a fake caused her heart to hammer violently in her chest like a frantic bird trapped in a cage. She felt like her wolf was rising to the surface, and the urge to silence Lorena with a snap of her fingers was growing stronger. If not, why is is this misfortune happening in our pack?" Lorena continued to ask, despite knowing it would only cause Miranda to get angrier and frustrated. Worst of all, she might even be sent to the dungeon for going against their pack's Luna. However, that was the least of her concerns right now as the guilt of believing that Helga was fake and turning her back against her like everyone else weighed heavily on her shoulders. If Miranda was just deceiving them, Lorena wanted to at least do something about it. Though it might sound hypocritical, she still wanted to to make up for everything she had done to Helga.

"I don't know! Rogue attacks weren't that uncommon. Why are you acting like-

"What's going on?" Alpha Ezra's voice made everyone silent in a split second, his sharp tone cutting straight through any argument Miranda may have attempted to raise against Lorena. And just like what she used to do, she began shedding tears and ran towards her husband, causing Lorena to sigh at the sight

"Lorena's accusing me of being fake because of everything that was happening." Miranda whined, tears streaming down her checks like a broken river stream.

"Are you not?" The question caused Miranda's breath to hitch slightly, and she stared at him wide-eyed for several long

Miranda cried, her heart beating like crazy in her chest as she struggled to understand what he was insinuating. Without thinking as panic began clouding her brain, she ran outside and transformed into her wolf before running to the woods, leaving everyone shocked. "Miranda!" Ezra's voice echoed through the pack house as he ran his fingers frantically through his disheveled hair. The weight of his stress had finally reached its boiling point, causing him to lose control. With a tight fist, he used his mind link and sent a message to his beta, urging him to handle the urgent matters inside the pack house. Without hesitation, Ezra burst through the doors and chased after his wife, leaving the others gaping in shock at the chaotic scene before them. 12:29 Fr.
