Chapter 51 He Is Too Cruel
Chapter 51 He Is Too Cruel
There is a popular saying that the higher they are, the harder they fall, just like Rosie.
“Rosie is so arrogant that I really don’t like her. I never thought that she did something illegal!”
“This is unbelievable. She took bribes! An employee like her is a disgrace to our company.”
“Oh, come on. I don't want to go to her dinner party at all!”
After Rosie was picked up by police, her “friends” said a lot of terrible things about her.
It didn't take too long before the news about Tracy’s promotion had spread all over Cona. When the
news reached the Perry family, they were shocked!
Not too long ago, a mysterious figure hosted all big-name people in Cona at Starry Garden Hotel and
called for cooperation with Samho Group. It was the night that led Samho to a greater prosperity. And
now Tracy was the manager, Samho would grow stronger under her leadership.
The news caused discussion among the Perry family.
“Son of a bitch! How is that possible? She becomes the manager?”
“I bet she won the position by her beauty more than ability.” Content © provided by NôvelDrama.Org.
“I suddenly understood what made her so cocky in Perry Group the other day!”
The members of the Perry family sat together in Perry Courtyard, waiting for Henry.
Phillip’s arm was still in a sling. He sat there in silence, staring at his injured arm.
Henry finally showed up, supported by Zoey. After being seated, Henry scanned everyone present and
said, “have you all heard the news? Just a moment ago, Tracy has become the manager of Samho.”
They all nodded.
“Phillip, what do you think about it?” Henry asked Phillip.
Phillip seemed thinking of other things and didn't raise his head until Henry called him. “Granddad,
since Samho broke away from the Perry family, our family’s employees were all kicked out of Samho.
But Tracy entered Samho easily. And now, she got the position unexpectedly. All things considered; I
see two possibilities.”
“Go on!” Henry nodded.
“She got the post in a short amount of time. Let’s guess the reason. By ability or by beauty? I think the
latter is the most likely,” Phillip said.
“From what I understand, in fact since she worked in Samho, she got bullied by Rosie, the head of the
business department. Even weirder, she was given a slap on the face today, just before her promotion.
That doesn't make sense,” he continued.
“You still remember that? Before Tracy was kicked out of our family, on behalf of the Brone company,
Camel brought a contract to us. But amazingly enough, he withdrew the cooperation only because it
was me, not Tracy, to take over the work! Right? It's so weird. So, I'm guessing that someone important
of Brone Group fell hopelessly in love with Tracy, but she rebuffed his advances. The guy was so
impatient with her arrogance that he withdrew the cooperation and took away Samho. But about a
month ago, Brone said they would cooperate actively with Samho. Why? So, having said all of that, I
think it is clear enough,” Phillip said without pausing.
When he was done, Henry nodded with satisfaction. He acknowledged that Phillip had made some
very good points here.
“I see. Tracy rebuffed the big guy’s advances, so she was bullied since she worked in Samho. Until one
day, she finally couldn’t take it anymore, so she threw herself at that guy! That is why she got the
position.” Zoey acted like she had known everything.
After hearing this, others chorused Phillip’s agreement. Immediately the whole Perry Courtyard was
buzzing.
They didn’t get quiet until Henry tapped on the table. “Anyway, Tracy was a member of the Perry family.
And now she is the manager of Samho. In any case, she has an obligation to help the Perry family,” he
said grimly.
It was Henry that kicked Tracy out of the Perry family! But now he admitted Tracy was a member of the
Perry family only because she got the position which was quite helpful for them. How ridiculous it
sounded!
“Phillip, I will give you a job! Go to the Perry Manor right now and try to form a partnership with Tracy
and her Samho,” Henry commanded. (Edit: I used to use Perry Courtyard for both where Tracy lived
and where the rest of the Perry family lived, but it's a mistake since Tracy was kicked out of the family
already and she moved somewhere else and thus from now on I will call the place where Tracy lived as
the Perry Manor. Sorry for the confusion.)
Phillip was taken by surprise. “Granddad, I think I might not be a good person for the task. Tracy hates
me! You’d better get someone else.”
Frowning, Henry said reprovingly, “Tracy has been the manager of Samho. Not to mention the big guy
of Brone Group who love her. We can't afford to offend them. Especially, I kicked her out only for the
sake of you! So, it has to be you. This is how to make her forgive us! Do you understand?”
Until that moment, Phillip completely understood the full meaning of Henry’s words. His granddad
planned to send him to apology instead of negotiating. He was a scapegoat for Tracy being kicked out!
He got so mad at his granddad. A few days ago, he gave Tracy such a hard time while she came to
Perry Group, and therefore his arm was broken by Baron.
It was so humiliating to beg Tracy for her forgiveness. Especially if Tracy came back, he had no place
here anymore.
“Granddad, I just can't,” said Phillip grimly.
“You’re a jerk!” Henry slammed his hand down on the table. “Enough! You have no choice. You are the
one who got us into trouble! You'd better remember that!” Henry roared and stormed out of the room.
Everyone knew in their heart that Phillip would lose his position if Tracy returned to the family. They
encouraged him with feigned concerns.
“Phillip, nobody dares to contradict Mr. Perry. Sorry, I could do nothing to help you.”
“Phillip, you are the legitimate heir to the Perry family. We're relying on you!
“I really do believe you can do it! Good luck!”
With those words, they started to leave, only Phillip and his mom Shirly were left alone.
“Dear, don't worry. If you are reluctant to do it, I'll beg the bitch for you!” Shirly said.
Phillip shook his head with a bitter smile. “Mom, did you catch Granddad’s point? He chooses Tracy
over me! He is too cruel!”
“Dear, do you remember what your dad said to you when he was alive?” Shirly said earnestly, “he said,
a little neglect may breed great mischief. I know you feel so ashamed to beg that bitch! But this is a
price we must pay and a price worth paying. You are the legitimate heir to the Perry family. You need to
get the position!”
“Henry just uses Tracy’s ties to Brone Group to get more benefits. And even if she returned, she can
never take the place of you!” Shirly continued.
Phillip suddenly understood, a hint of a smile playing on his lips. “Mom, I see. And you must know I
won't disappoint you.”
