Shi Nuan egged him on. It seemed like she would not let Fu Chengyan off easy if he did not agree with her statement.

Fu Chengyan’s gaze darkened, “Are you going to keep up with this?”

“Yes, I am. And there’s nothing you can do about it!” Shi Nuan hugged Fu Chengyan’s arms and burrowed herself in them. Fu Chengyan did not make a move. In the end, Shi Nuan lost all interest and pushed him away. Then, she buried herself in the sheets. “You’re no fun, mister! Fu Chengyan, do you not love me anymore?!”

Shi Nuan pouted her lips and kept quiet. Fu Chengyan seemed quite helpless. He asked patiently, “Aren’t you running out of air while getting all cooped up in there?”

“Why do you care? You don’t seem like you care about how I feel anyway.”

“Okay, okay. It’s my fault. Why don’t we go out for a walk tomorrow, hmm?”

“Really?” Shi Nuan’s eyes lit up after hearing him. “Where are you bringing me tomorrow?”

“The office!” Fu Chengyan tapped lightly on her head. “Still going to be mad at me?”

Shi Nuan shook her head and wobbled out of the sheets. “No, no! I know Yan is the best!”

“Ah, what do I do with you?” Fu Chengyan could not help but pinch her nose. “You’re really behaving like a child!”

Shi Nuan grinned from ear to ear. After getting Fu Chengyan to promise her, she did not throw tantrums anymore. Getting up from bed, she took the towel from him. “Let me dry your hair!”

“No.” Fu Chengyan grabbed Shi Nuan’s hands. “It’s cold. The doctor mentioned that you shouldn’t touch these cold things!”

“How is this cold?” Shi Nuan protested but to no avail. Fu Chengyan pointed at one corner of the bed. “You’d better sit there. Watch me dry my hair if you’re bored, or you could read some magazines!”

Shi Nuan smiled as she retreated to a corner. Then, she picked up the phone and saw the abuzz discussion in the chat group. Shi Nuan narrowed her eyes. “Yan, guess what I’m seeing here.”

Fu Chengyan dried his hair as he gazed sideways at Shi Nuan. “What?” His gaze fell on the phone in her hands, and then to the phone on her side. He narrowed his eyes at her. “Hmm?”

Shi Nuan chuckled. “Yan, the things that you brought back today, did Mr. Zhou buy it all?”

The things that I brought back?

Then, Fu Chengyan recalled that he did bring a lot of things home in the afternoon. He had instructed the butler and servant to spare a room for all those stuff.

Fu Zhengyun also asked for the butler to decorate the room as the nursery room. “Did Zhou Zheng tell you this?”

Shi Nuan shook her head. “No, Mr. Zhou wouldn’t dare.”

“Hmm?”

Fu Chengyan titled her brows and edged closer to her. He took the phone from Shi Nuan’s hands and saw that his WeChat application was open.

He furrowed his brows, sensing that something might be wrong. Fu Chengyan scrolled further up and skimmed through it all. He zeroed in his attention on a video. Fu Chengyan clicked on the video, and his gaze darkened at the sight of it.

Shi Nuan was alarmed by his sudden move. However, when she managed to respond, it was already too late.

Fu Chengyan titled his brows slightly. The phone was clutched between his slender fingers. He clicked on the phone’s screen with his index finger and smiled at Shi Nuan. “Very funny, hmm?”

Shi Nuan pursed her lips and shook her head vigorously.

Fu Chengyan tapped on the phone and thought for a moment. “But darling, I think you look very happy!”

“Yes, I am. I just realized how much you love us!” Shi Nuan hurriedly crawled to Fu Chengyan’s side and circled his waist.

Fu Chengyan hurriedly steadied Shi Nuan as he saw that she was approaching him. Afraid that she might fall from the swift movements, he threw his anger to the back of his head. Shi Nuan’s head bumped right into Fu Chengyan’s chest.

With a thud, Fu Chengyan let out a growl. However, his first instinct was to steady Shi Nuan and asked, “Are you alright?”

Shi Nuan felt her nose going numb from the impact. Her eyes brimmed with tears but she shook her head stubbornly. She covered her nose and said, “I’m alright!”

“You’re going to be a mother soon. Why aren’t you more careful?” Fu Chengyan said as he tried to soothe her pain. Then, he sent a text: Shaoqing, it seems like you don’t want to recover?

Su Shaoqing immediately replied to his text: Hey Chengyan, I’m just joking. Besides, it’s rare to see you explicitly expressing care and concern toward Nuan. I suppose she’s very happy to see it, isn’t she?

Fu Chengyan narrowed his eyes. His text read: What if I let Ling experience the same joy?

Su Shaoqing: No, please! It’s all my fault. Zhou Zheng did all these! I’m only in charge of sending a video. You’ve gotta trust me!

Fu Chengyan snorted as he threw the phone to one side. He lifted his head to look at Shi Nuan, “I think Shaoqing and Ling are not a good match for each other!”

Shi Nuan was rendered speechless.

Then, she burst into a laugh.

Su Shaoqing is done for this time. Hahaha! How dare he piss Yan off!

“I have to thank him for this video though. Otherwise, I wouldn’t know that you care so much about the babies!”

Fu Chengyan tilted his brows. “What do you mean? Are you saying that I’ve somehow given you the impression that I do not care about them?”

Shi Nuan retracted a few steps back. She raised her hands up to surrender. “No, that’s not what I mean at all.” A mischievous look flashed across her face. With her arms akimbo she said, “Now I realize that you love the baby more than me. Fu Chengyan, do you only like the baby in my belly? Hmm?”

Noticing the mischievous look in her eyes, Fu Chengyan edged closer to Shi Nuan. Then, he caught her hands and lifted them above her head. Tilting his brows, he asked, “Do you think I’m only good to you because of the baby?”

Shi Nuan shook her head at first. Then, she nodded her head.

Fu Chengyan glared at her. Then, he hit her head with his own.

Shi Nuan let out a cry. She wanted to reach out to touch it. However, she realized both her hands were restrained by Fu Chengyan. Pouting, she put on a pitiful look. “Yan, I’m sorry!”

“Silly girl!” Fu Chengyan’s heart softened at her demeanor. In the end, he only scratched her nose lightly. “I’m treating the babies inside you nicely because you’re carrying them. You’re their mommy, and they’re our children. Okay?”

“Okay!” Shi Nuan nodded.

She was just joking previously. However, she still felt a warm feeling coursing through her heart at his words. “I know, Yan. Me too.”

The next day, Shi Nuan woke up early in the morning since Fu Chengyan had promised to take her to the office. She was afraid of Fu Chengyan going against his words. Hence, she sprung right out of bed early in the morning.

Fu Chengyan could not help but chuckle when he noticed her begrudgingly getting out of bed. He reached out to tap her head. “Why don’t you sleep some more? I’ll ask the chauffeur to come pick you up later, okay?”

“No!” Shi Nuan bumped her head gently against his head repeatedly. She was trying hard to keep her eyes open. “It’s so weird. I was never a sleepyhead!”

“Hmm, yeah. Not a sleepyhead!” Fu Chengyan was coaxing her like she was a child. Then, he reached out to scoop her into his arms and straightened out her nightgown. “Good girl, since we’re heading to the office, let’s go brush our teeth and change our clothes!”

“Okay!” Shi Nuan felt warm in his embrace. She circled her arms around his neck and wriggled herself to a relatively comfortable position. Her head was positioned on his shoulder as she rubbed herself against him. “Yan, your shoulder feels so nice!”

Fu Chengyan chuckled as he looked at her still in a daze. He tucked the stray hair covering her face behind her ear and then carried her into the bathroom.

Shi Nuan changed her position as she wrapped her legs around his waist and circled her hands around his neck. Her head was still leaning against her shoulders. She pouted, “Yan, I’m not gonna open my eyes!”

Fu Chengyan narrowed his eyes. “Okay, keep it closed then.” He supported her buttocks with one hand, and used the other to fumble with the toothbrush and toothpaste. It was quite a strain for him to squeeze the toothpaste out of the tube. After he was done, he handed it over to Shi Nuan. “Let’s brush our teeth first!”

Shi Nuan opened her eyes a little and saw the toothbrush. She grinned from ear to ear. “I’m so tired. Could you help me brush my teeth?”

“Lazy bum!” Fu Chengyan smiled. He took a towel and placed it beside the basin before letting Shi Nuan sit on it. Fu Chengyan gave her a cup of water. “You should gargle first.”
