Chapter 57 (Clare)
Chapter 57 (Clare)
She was crooning the little male bundle, having had him for the past twenty minutes. Kalbreal bent down to her knees and sat flat on the ground. She could feel his eyes on her as she played with the baby's chin, murmuring “You’re so handsome little one, you’ll break many hearts, yes you will.”
Kalbreal laughed, “I’m sure he will, it’s close now.”
“What is?”
“The naming, when he receives his name, he also receives his seraph energy, his Gazool, it what makes him half Angel.”
She lifted her chin, her eyes still fixed on the baby who lay cradled in her arms, her nephew. “Is that why all the people are here.”
“Yes.”
She appreciated the opportunity, it was good to see a new life after that which she lost. She brushed the thought of her mother and stared deeper into the baby’s eyes, “When do his parents name him?”
Kalbreal leaned in, his voice loud and clear so she could hear it in the crowd of noise, “His name is given by Adonai, when it’s written on the Akashic it’ll show visible on his skin, there is only one name.”
Clare smiled and played with the baby, hearing the people as they talked and laughed amongst each other. Whilst she tickled the baby’s cheeks she lifted the infant boy and laid butterfly kisses on his rosy cheeks, and inhaled the scent of a newborn.
Kalbreal still focused on her as the minutes passed, she smiled at the thought of how long he sat there watching her with a disbelieving look, she asked, “Do you wanna carry him?”
“When he gets his name yeah, of course, it’s the only reason I’m here.”
“Did you ever have one, a baby?”
He scowled, and tensed up, “No.”
“Then you should, I want three someday. So do tell, what’s the Akashic?”
He rubbed his chin with his index and thumb, “Something you shouldn’t know about.”
“Well, I can’t argue there, you are the Angel, obviously.”
Clare caught two girls around about her age, squealing, as they gossiped about Kalbreal, making it so obvious by standing at his back and gawking at him. They both wore brown Armor like hers, she was surprised that Kalbreal didn’t even turn around to look at them.
She focused back on her bundle and watched with a huge smile as the little one tiny hand crept its way out of the blanket. Clare touched the little fingers carefully, having never touched a newborn baby before now, it was an all too new experience for her, especially when she stared into the baby’s eyes as he smiled, the forehead of the baby’s started to lighten up,
“KALBREAL, something’s happening.”
“What?” Property of Nô)(velDr(a)ma.Org.
Kalbreal got up and moved over to her, the child’s entire face had a light under the flesh, making him glow like a pink crystal lamp.
Clare’s protective instincts rose, tenfold, as she held the baby tight, “Call his mother.”
“It's too late for that, the baby's receiving his name, open your hands and remove the blanket.”
The people gathered around her as the mother rushed through the crowd of people, with tears brimming in her eyes, it wasn’t happy ones, but those that Clare had been all too familiar within the
recent past, those shed from loss and sorrow, anger and heartache. She averted her gaze from mother to baby, which squirmed in her arms. Her heart pounded as she decided to follow Kalbreal’s instructions. Luela didn’t seem in any state to handle it, and nobody stepped forward to assist, so it was now up to her.
Unwrapping him from the blanket, slowly, she kept him tucked to her chest. The baby now naked, she lifted him, the blanket falling to the floor at the same time she stood up.
The baby’s body was alive with a glow penetrating through his flesh. Brightening with every minute passed, his heart pulsing, as crimson vines illuminated through his untainted flesh. The site breathtaking, pure, so Angelic, astounded her speechless. To think, she thought that nothing could amaze her after she had glimpsed the beauty of this realm,
But…
This energy, because that’s what it looked like, felt like, beneath the skins’ surface of the baby, was celestial, unearthed, inhuman. Keeping her emerald eyes on the boy, fascination clear on her face, she watched his vibrant water blue eyes change completely to green. This she thought is a heavens miracle.
The infant’s weight got lighter in her arms and started to rise from her hands, until he was in the air, floating on an invisible cloud. He didn’t cry or moan, instead, he kicked his tiny little legs, eyes wide open and sucked on his hand.
It was extraordinary, as the innocence of the baby flourished through the Gazool that now flowed through his body, Clare’s mouth parted in amazement.
The other’s stood further back, Kalbreal now next to her, amused by her astonishment, “You should stand back Clarebella.”
She listened dubiously and took a few steps back as Kalbreal moved under the baby who drifted further into the air. Instinctively she turned her head and watched as Luela cried bitterly in silence, held tightly against her father.
Clare could only wonder what was so horrifying when this spectacular occurrence was happening. What could make this young mother so mortal? She searched around, moving her head slowly from left to right for the father of the baby, but there was none, nobody who seemed enthralled enough to be anyway.
Kalbreal still stood closest to the baby, as the others and herself positioned at least four meters away. The emanating light grew brighter until it was so bright that Clare while struggling to keep her eyes open, could still see the light through her eyelids. When the brightness beyond her eyelids finally dimmed a good few minutes later, Clare opened them and saw Kalbreal as he held the baby. His free hand on top of the babies face, releasing sparks of fire. Directly over the child’s naked body, his mouth whispering something, but a slight smile hadn’t moved from his mouth. Angel-boy really likes babies she thought, maybe William likes them too.
Kalbreal faced them, and lifted the baby above his head, “Arsheal.”
The crowd gathered in, some bumped her, but she didn’t move, as her eyes wandered back to Luela, who smiled, but with haunting sadness. Behind her, Clare caught sight of another figure, another female.
Clare tried to make her out properly by straining her eyes, taking in the girls light blue gaze, just like her mother’s, that focused right on her. The female walked closer to Luela, who started moving toward the baby. Clare bumped and pushed, keeping the mysterious girl in her vision, she spun when she bumped into a big chest, taking seconds to get her bearing, but the girl was gone, just like that. She looked a few feet in every direction around Luela, nothing.
Facing Luela again, she watched as the mother stopped walking. Her mind made up, she moved forward to talk to her cousin, to find out what was so wrong.
A female hand gripped her wrist, a soft voice whispered into her ear as the person reeled her in, “You aren’t safe here, leave now, GO.” American, she must know Nathan.
Clare spun around but the figure was gone, she hadn’t known who it was, where it came from, but part of her believed it, and got her feet moving through the crowd, with determination.
She got his attention easily, when she yelled, “Kalbreal”, he wasn’t holding the baby anymore, instead, he just stood there, looking at Arsheal when she called out to him.
She gestured with her chin to follow her, which he did. They passed through the crowd and slipped out the door, he didn’t seem irritated, which was a good sign, “What is it?”
“We need to leave, it isn’t safe, ACTUALLY a woman told me that, about yay high, big blue eyes.”
She was puzzled by his response, or lack of, “What are you doing, why you closing your eyes?”
“I’m seeing what’s the danger, probably Jullie who spoke to you but I don’t sense her unless…” he trailed off,
“Unless what?”
“Nothing, Listen Luela isn’t happy, her husband ascended an hour ago, but he’s chosen to be a maker, she won’t be able to stay with him.”
Clare raised her voice, “Why not, she just had a baby? That’s ridiculous; he’ll obviously choose his baby.” She shrugged, but looked up at Kalbreal’s face, and knew that there wasn’t anything at all obvious about the situation, “Why can’t she stay with him if he’s a maker? What does it mean to ascend?”
“Let’s go I won’t risk your safety, we’ll talk somewhere else, come on.”
She didn’t know why or what it was which convinced her, but she listened to him and followed closely as he took long strides down the passage, purposely trying to get out of there quickly, she, had to run partially just to keep up.
