Resign’s Letter
Fahira’s worries turned out to be unfounded. Yasmin welcomed her with open arms and even encouraged Darian and Fahira to get married.
“Fahira, please forgive Mommy, okay? We may not know each other well yet, but I believe Darian’s choice is the best,” Yasmin said gently. She reached for Fahira’s fingers and looked into Fahira’s deep black eyes tenderly.
“Mrs. Yasmin, you don’t need to apologize. I completely understand your feelings,” Fahira replied politely. Yasmin’s gentle gaze instantly reminded Fahira of her own mother, and it sent shivers down her spine.
It had been three years since Fahira’s parents passed away, and during that time, she never visited their graves. Not because she couldn’t afford the transportation from Jakarta to Surabaya, but because a letter had instructed her to stay with Ariel in Jakarta for an unspecified period for their safety. Fahira was afraid that something might happen if she dared to leave, especially for Ariel’s safety.
“Call me Mommy, soon we will be family,” Yasmin said, smiling.
Currently, Yasmin and Fahira were sitting together in the backyard garden, enjoying the serene atmosphere with the sound of the fish pond as the natural music. The swimming pool was surrounded by palm trees. Darian had excused himself to freshen up since he was still wearing his formal office attire. After dropping Fahira off at home, he went to his own house to change.Exclusive content from NôvelDrama.Org.
“Fahira, I hope you don’t mind living with Mama here. I’ve been feeling lonely ever since Darian moved to the apartment,” Yasmin said with a hoarse voice. Fahira responded by gently holding the frail hand of the middle-aged woman. Fahira had misjudged the perfect life of Darian Mahesa Putra. Both Darian and Yasmin carried their own deep wounds. Fahira didn’t know the details, but she could sense it.
“Of course, whatever Mommy wishes, Fahira will follow. May I hug you, Mommy?” Fahira’s voice trembled. Both pairs of dark eyes looked misty and filled with hope.
“Of course.” Yasmin pulled Fahira into her embrace. Both of them cried silently, lost in their own thoughts.
“Ahem… It seems like I’m forgotten,” Darian’s voice interrupted the emotional moment between Fahira and Yasmin.
Fahira and Yasmin let go of each other’s embrace and wiped the remaining tears from their cheeks. Darian just smiled, feeling grateful in his heart to see his two beloved women getting along so well.
“It’s getting late, Darian should take Fahira home now. It’s not good for Ariel to be alone at home,” Yasmin suggested, looking at Darian with affection.
“Yes, let’s go home,” Fahira added.
“Sure, I’ll take you home,” Darian replied, standing up. He was happy to see his mother and Fahira getting along so well.
“Visit us again sometime, Fahira,” Yasmin said, hugging Fahira again before they parted.
“Mom, I hope you’re ready to have a lively house soon with grandchildren,” Darian teased, causing Fahira to blush.
Fahira glared at Darian when he was about to say something else.
“I’m also looking forward to having a house filled with grandchildren,” Yasmin chimed in with a teasing smile, enjoying the interaction between Darian and Fahira. She could see the love shining in their eyes.
Fahira bid farewell and kissed the back of Yasmin’s hand before the conversation could get any more teasing. She felt a little embarrassed by the playful banter between mother and son.

The next morning, David was already waiting for Darian in his office. There was something important that Darian needed to know about Alea. Maybe it wasn’t important to Darian, but it was crucial for David. He was worried that Alea might attempt something drastic and hurt herself again.
“Where have you been all this time? You’ve been disturbing my life. You were nowhere to be found, not at home, not at the office! If you weren’t my friend, I would have fired you!” Darian grumbled as he took off his jacket and placed it on the back of his chair before sitting comfortably in his chair.
Darian’s forehead creased when he saw David’s strange expression. His friend seemed anxious and puzzled.
“Yesterday, when you left Alea like that and went off with Fahira, I accidentally followed Alea. Do you know what she did?” David explained seriously, while Darian seemed indifferent to the information.
“Alea tried to commit suicide. She drowned herself in the sea.” Darian immediately stood up from his seat, looking at David in disbelief.
“Thank goodness I followed her. I panicked when her heart stopped beating. I’m grateful, my first aid skills worked,” David continued, responding to Darian’s shocked gaze.
“You should meet her and talk to her, apologize at least, as the fault is not entirely on her, right?” David sighed before getting up from his seat.
“I’ll accompany you if you’re hesitant, her mental condition is not stable right now,” David said, patting Darian’s shoulder as he walked out of the room, leaving Darian feeling guilty.
“Shit!” Darian cursed as his concentration shattered. The files in front of him couldn’t convince him to focus. He had planned to take Fahira somewhere after work, but now he had another urgent matter to attend to.
Darian’s heart was in turmoil after David’s words. He couldn’t pretend not to care about Alea if she was attempting suicide. The thought of Alea hurting herself again haunted him, and the guilt would stay with him for a lifetime. Darian contemplated whether he should tell Fahira about Alea or not.
“No,” Darian whispered, massaging his nose bridge with closed eyes. He knew Fahira well enough; she would probably choose to leave him rather than see someone else getting hurt, and Darian didn’t want that to happen.
In the end, he decided to follow David’s advice and meet with Alea, accompanied by David. He didn’t want anything undesirable to occur. He was worried that Alea might do something reckless, and Darian didn’t want to be trapped in an unwanted situation.
From a distance, David observed Darian and Alea engaged in a serious conversation. Alea’s eyes were filled with hatred as she stared at Darian. After a while, she stood up from her seat and grabbed a glass of drink, pouring it over Darian’s face. David quickly stood and rushed over when he saw Darian’s hand about to retaliate towards Alea.
“Stop, man. We’re in public!” David warned, holding Darian’s hand mid-air.
With a sharp look and a tense jaw, Darian lowered his hand and adjusted his jacket before leaving abruptly. Before David caught up to Darian, he looked at Alea with an unreadable expression and said, “I’ll come to your apartment later in the afternoon.”
Alea watched Darian’s strong back as he walked away, tears streaming down her face uncontrollably. Her heart and mind were in a fierce battle now. Should she seek revenge for the pain and humiliation Darian had caused her, or should she listen to David’s advice and move on without expecting Darian’s love again?

Fahira’s face turned crimson as she listened to Darian’s suggestive words. She couldn’t believe what she just heard. The audacity and boldness of his statement left her stunned and flustered. Her mind was racing, trying to process the implications of Darian’s proposition.
“Darian, you can’t just say something like that!” Fahira stammered, feeling a mix of embarrassment, anger, and confusion.
Darian only smirked, clearly enjoying Fahira’s reaction. “Why not? We both know there’s something between us. And let’s be honest, you enjoy teasing me too,” he replied with a mischievous glint in his eyes.
Fahira clenched her fists, trying to regain her composure. “This is highly inappropriate, Darian. I’m your employee, and you’re my boss. We can’t cross that line,” she stated firmly.
Darian’s expression turned serious, and he took a step closer to her. “Who said anything about crossing lines? We can keep this strictly professional. You’ll be my personal secretary, assisting me with everything, both at work and at home,” he explained, trying to sound reasonable.
Fahira shook her head, feeling overwhelmed by the situation. “I can’t do this, Darian. It’s not right,” she said, trying to maintain her resolve.
Darian sighed, realizing that he might have gone too far with his proposition. “Look, Fahira, I didn’t mean to pressure you. Take your time to think about it. I won’t force you into anything,” he said, his tone softening.
Fahira nodded, still feeling uneasy. “I need some space right now. Can we talk about this later?” she requested.
Darian nodded in agreement. “Of course. Take all the time you need. And remember, I value your work, not just any personal arrangement,” he reassured her.
Fahira forced a small smile, grateful for his understanding. “Thank you, Darian. I’ll get back to you when I’m ready to discuss this further,” she replied.
With that, Fahira quickly left Darian’s office, needing some fresh air and time to collect her thoughts. She knew she needed to figure out what she truly wanted and whether she could handle such a unique and complicated arrangement with her boss.
As Fahira walked through the office corridors, she couldn’t help but feel a whirlwind of emotions inside her. The professional boundaries had been blurred, and she was faced with a decision that could impact her career and personal life in ways she never imagined. It was a delicate balance between her heart and her mind, and she knew she needed to tread carefully to protect herself from any potential regrets or complications.
In the days that followed, Fahira took some time off to clear her mind and think things through. She sought advice from her close friends and family, trying to weigh the pros and cons of accepting such an unusual position as Darian’s personal secretary.
Ultimately, Fahira decided to have an open and honest conversation with Darian. She wanted to express her concerns and boundaries clearly while also acknowledging the chemistry and connection between them. It was essential for them to establish clear ground rules if they were to proceed with this arrangement.
When the time came, Fahira met Darian again in his office, ready to discuss the matter candidly. They both knew that whatever they decided would have a significant impact on their lives, both personally and professionally.
As they sat face to face, the tension in the room was palpable. Fahira took a deep breath and began to express her thoughts and feelings, hoping that they could find a path that would respect both their emotions and professional responsibilities.
And so, their journey into a unique and complex relationship began, with Fahira stepping into the role of Darian’s personal secretary, navigating the boundaries between work and intimacy, love and professionalism. They both knew that this would be an unconventional path, filled with challenges and uncertainties, but they were determined to make it work and build something meaningful together.
Fahira’s face turned red instantly. “You pervert!” she pushed Darian’s large body away from hers and hurriedly left his office, clutching her agenda tightly.
