CHAPTER XC

THE BATHROOM DOOR opened, and Sophia walked out of it, dressed in a white, silky, strapped night dress with its robe hung over her shoulders, both stopping below her knees, that Chase made her wear.
Her hands that were using a towel to dry her hair stopped when her eyes fell on the suddenly changed room. The room was decorated with candles. There were rose petals laid on the bed and a table for two was set in the middle of the room.
Before she could move any further into the room, a strong, warm, and muscular pair of arms were wrapped around her waist from behind and her hands fell limp at her sides along with the towel. The moment the scent of sandalwood hit her nostrils, she knows who it was.
Her body tingled, and goose bumps erupted all over her skin when he buried his face in the crook of her neck, making her breath hitch in her throat.
His voice came out husky against her skin. “Tell me you like it,”
A small smile slipped into her face, and she placed her hands on his arms that were wrapped around her waist before she leaned further into his touch. “I love it,”
“Really?” He grazed her skin with his warm lips. “You love it?”
“Hmmm,” She said.
Chase spun her around so she could face him. “Say it again,” He wrapped her arms around his neck, staring into her eyes. “Say you love it again,”
“I love it,” She whispered

“You look breath taking.” He placed both of his palms on her waist gently. “I could fuck you all night,”
She fake-glared at him, a blush creeping up her cheeks again. “What was all the decoration about?”
He lifted a brow. “How were you expecting our wedding night to be?”
She blushed. “I don’t know,” She replied softly. “I just wanted something special,”
“Well then, expect this night to be a special one because everything will happen the way you want it,” He caressed her cheeks with his knuckles.
“Thank you,” She whispered.
“Do I get a thank you kiss instead?” He asked. “You owe me one, though. We didn’t seal our marriage with a kiss,”
She looked up at him, a deep red color coating her already flustered cheeks. “It’s not compulsory. And I don’t think a marriage needs to be sealed with a kiss, Chase,”
He puckered out his lips into a pout. “Too bad I know nothing about all that,” He gripped her chin and pursed his lips into a thin line. “All I want is to kiss you right now,”
She smacked his chest with her fist, not hard enough to hurt. “You’re such a big baby!”
He lifted one of his perfectly arched brows. “Am I?”
“Yes,” She whined. “Why would you do that?”
“Do what?”
“What you did with your lips,” She said. “Why would you pout your lips,”
He shrugged. “I still want my kiss,”
Sophia shook her head. “You won’t give up, will you?”
“Nope,” He let out, stressing on the “p.”
Sophia gently placed her palms on his shoulders and stood on her toes as he tightened his hold on her waist. She angled her face closer to his, and just when she brushed their lips, the doorbell rang.
She jumped a little and moved backwards. Chase groaned, letting out strings of curses.
She blushed again and tucked a strand of her hair behind her ear. “I’ll go and get the door,”
“No!” Chase was quick to hold her arm. When she frowned, he smiled. “No one gets to see what’s mine. Not when you’re dressed like this,” Without letting her say a word, Chase walked past her and went to open the door.
After exchanging greetings with them, their room attendant walked in with a waiter into their ensuite. They were both dressed in their specific uniforms, and the waiter was pushing a food trolley with different types of food arranged neatly on it, well covered.
The waiter arranged the dishes and drinks on the table in the room as well as plates and other necessary things they would both need.
Once they were done and the table was perfect enough, Chase nodded at them, indicating that they should leave.
“Why are there so many dishes here?” Sophia asked once the room attendant and the waiter left.
“Because I want you to be able to eat anyone you wish to have,” He placed his hand on her shoulders and made her sit on the chair he pulled out for her before pushing it back. “And you didn’t eat much before leaving home,”
“How could I have eaten? I lost my appetite the moment I heard you were marrying her,” She replied.
Chase sat down on the chair opposite her. “Remind me to fire the maids that go around gossiping,”
She playfully raised a brow, terribly failing at it. “So you’re going to fire those innocent ladies because they talked about your wedding with Saige?” She asked, leaning on her seat. “Obvious enough, you didn’t want me to find out,”
“That way? No,” He uncovered the lid of the platter and began to dish out the rice in both of their plates. “I’d have rather told you myself,”
“When would you have done that, then?” She tilted her head to the side. “I’m sure you wouldn’t have done that today, or else we won’t be here right now,” She pursed her lips. “It’s a good thing I found out that way,”
“Either way, I’m firing those maids,” He said, serving her chicken. “Because of them, you missed your lunch, and you found about my marriage date in a hurtful way. I never intended for you to find out like that,” He pushed her plate to her front. “Eat up,”
