Chapter 315
"There's no rush to get back to Oak Falls. Actually... I know who messed with the car that caused the accident." She could probably guess who it was, but there was no proof.
"Who is it?" Caroline's brow furrowed slightly. She had her suspicions, wondering if they matched Eliza's.
Their eyes met, and almost in unison, they said,
"Aaron."
"Aaron."
Caroline's back stiffened, nearly losing her balance as she steadied herself against the edge of the conference table. "So it really was him." Eliza thought about confronting Aaron.
"Keep an eye on Brock for me. I need to step out."
"Eliza, don't..."
Caroline's words were cut short. Eliza had already handed her son over to Caroline and swiftly exited the conference room.
The news of Casper's accident was everywhere. At that moment, Aaron was leisurely in his office, watering his nearly withered zinnia.
Seeing Eliza come for him didn't surprise him. He looked relaxed, "I knew you'd come looking for me."Content © copyrighted by NôvelDrama.Org.
"You tampered with the car, didn't you?" Eliza stepped forward to confront him.
Aaron was candid, with no attempt to hide it. His face even bore a trace of regret. "Yeah, t was me. But, unfortunately, it wasn't you who died, but him."
"So, you wanted me dead?" Her eyes trembled, her fingertips clenched tightly as she yelled, "What have I ever done to wrong you so badly?"
"Because you were Casper's wife." He laughed as if he had no choice.
"How could you do this? Your fiancée's suicide was due to your infidelity, not because of Casper. You brainwash yourself daily, thinking this will absolve your sins?"
"You don't understand at all." His
eyes reddened, and he glared at
Eliza fiercely. "There must have been
something between them; I just
didn't know. Casper seduced her,
and it's all his fault."
Eliza shook her head. Aaron was delusional. Did he think that after the vile acts he had committed, his fiancée could still live with him?
Women desire absolute loyalty, and Aaron was not such a man.
"Now that Casper is dead, are you happy?"
"No, I'm not happy, not at all."
With Casper dead, it was all over. He desired a slow torture, a gradual demise, but Casper's death was too swift, which he disliked.
"His death has robbed me of the pleasure of revenge, and I'm not pleased."
Aaron suddenly grabbed Eliza by the throat, pulling out her phone from her pocket, and glanced at it.
He wasn't surprised and smiled, "Recording me is useless. Without proof of tampering with Casper's car, can't be charged with murder. The law can't touch me." belongs to
"Aren't you afraid of karma?" Eliza struggled to breathe, her face turning purple.
"Only the wicked face karma. Am I wicked?" He pinned her against the wall, his voice low. "Casper was the wicked one, and you know it. So, the karma is his. Didn't you always wish for his death? Well, wish granted."
"Aaron, you're a psychopath. You'll get what's coming to you." She kicked him between the legs.
Caught off guard, Aaron let go of her neck from the pain. "Eliza, how dare..."
Eliza seized the opportunity to grab her phone back. Thankfully, he hadn't managed to delete the recording yet.
Regardless of the usefulness of this evidence, she intended to turn it over to the authorities. She believed that justice would eventually prevail.
...
Dillon was still out there on the endless sea, steadfast and persistently searching.
The car had long sunk into the abyss, swallowed by darkness, as if it would never see the light of day again.
