Chapter 672
Without a glance at the box, Drake handed it to Debra. "Take it."
"I won't," she blurted out.
Drake frowned. "You're sick. Do you want to end up in the hospital?"
"Who's sick? Who takes birth control pills randomly?" Debra countered.
Drake froze. "Birth control pills?"
Kale was just as confused.
Debra held up the box. "These are birth control pills. Don't tell me you don't know."Property belongs to Nôvel(D)r/ama.Org.
Drake stared at the box. The label didn't mention anything about contraception.
"It's norgestrel," he read aloud. "Where does it say birth control?"
Debra was speechless. It was almost unbelievable that a man like Drake, with all his power, had no idea what birth control pills looked like. "If they're not birth control pills, why are you making me take them?" she asked.
"You said your belly hurt. I asked the staff, and they recommended this for pain relief. Don't be ungrateful," Drake huffed.
The waitress came up to explain, "Mr. Lowe said you had a tummy ache. I take this for my period cramps, so I thought it would help."
Debra's eyes widened in realization. She had indeed mentioned her tummy ache to Drake earlier, after eating at the restaurant. This morning, the pain had worsened due to the stress of the previous night's events, and she'd complained about it. To her surprise, Drake had taken it to heart.
She said awkwardly, "I think there was a little misunderstanding. I had diarrhea, not that."
"Oh, I'm

She grabbed the box of pills and ran out of the room, afraid Drake would punish her there and then.
Debra felt a mix of relief and embarrassment.
Drake nodded toward the glass of red wine beside her. "Still think I'd drug you?"
"You're used to gourmet food and the finer things in life. Of course, you wouldn't bother with someone like me," she said, downing her wine.
Suddenly, the door burst open, and a bodyguard stumbled in, gasping. "Sir, it's Marion..." Before he could finish, he was hit from behind by an electric baton and fell to the ground.
A flood of footsteps followed. Kale immediately stepped in front of Drake.
"Sir, it's an attack."
A large group of men stormed into the room, surrounding them.
Drake had expected Juan to show up, but instead, standing in the doorway was Marion.
Marion was dressed in full military gear, with a dark overcoat draping over his shoulders. His boots clicked ominously against the floor. He looked a bit haggard, but his presence radiated authority and menace.
"Marion Houston," Drake hummed with a smirk.
The tension between them was palpable.
They seemed to know each other, and Debra was surprised.
