Chapter 631 He Was With Me Last Night
Skylar wondered how she managed to sleep so comfortably when Tobias did not return for the whole
night. It was already bright when she woke up, and she groggily grabbed her phone from below her
pillow to check what time it was.
There were two unread messages attached with photos. She found it bizarre that there were people
who would still use text messaging to send photos.
Both messages were from an unknown number. When Skylar opened them, she saw that the photos
were blurry and pixelated, possibly because the camera lens was not clean or of a low resolution. From
the angular lines of the man's face and his upright silhouette, she could immediately tell who the man
standing beside a young lady at the entrance of a bar was.
Skylar called back the unknown number. She thought the voice of the recipient sounded a little familiar,
and his identity was made known when he divulged his name.
Her voice was so ethereal that no one could tell if she was happy or angry. “Why are you sending me
those photos, Marcus? Is that supposed to be a kind reminder?”
“I didn't secretly capture those on purpose. I just happened to see that. It seems like your man is
having a good time with a hot girl at the bar entrance,” Marcus explained.
Skylar let out a cold chuckle and placidly muttered, “Thanks, but there's no need to send these to me in
the future. He was with me at home last night. I'm pretty sure you saw the wrong person.”
Before she allowed Marcus to say anything, she hung up the phone. She then took a shower to clear
her mind.
She believed there was no way Tobias' preferences would drop so low that he would be interested in a
woman dressed in fishnet stockings.
Besides, the two did not appear to be engaged in any intimate acts. She merely could not wrap her
head around why he did not come home the whole night.
She figured he would probably be at the office or the Ford residence since he did not come to her.
Could it be that he was back at the Ford residence to look for someone?
Skylar persuaded herself to exercise some self-control. I can't stoop so low and do something so
embarrassing. This content is © NôvelDrama.Org.
About half an hour later, she arrived outside the Ford residence. Coincidentally, she ran into Pete, who
was cleaning the car.
Instead of heading into the residence, Skylar turned to Pete and asked, “Is Tobias at home?”
What a bold young lady. Mr. Ford only sent a girl home last night, and she's here to confront him this
early in the morning. Pete thought to himself.
He replied, “I sent Mr. Ford back last night. Since it was very late when he returned and still so early
now, I guess he's still asleep.”
Skylar was beyond relieved to hear those words. She was glad that she did not impulsively rush down
to interrogate Tobias as soon as she saw those photos last night.
She heaved a deep breath and intended to leave. It was lucky she had only met Pete while visiting the
Ford residence so abruptly. Otherwise, if Claudia saw her, the former might incessantly question her
about her health check.
It was even to the extent that Claudia had got someone to call her a few days ago to probe about when
she would head to the hospital to do a check-up. In truth, the former was running out of patience.
A wealthy woman like her always acted all high and mighty even when making a call. Instead of calling
and checking, she still needed someone to convey her message.
How contradicting it was that she was so eager about having grandchildren while her son was so
pressed about birth control!
Sometimes, even Skylar could not figure out if Tobias purely did not want kids or if he did not want to
have babies with her.
“Why are you so eager to leave since you're here? Are you here to see me?” A deep voice sounded.
She turned around to see Tobias within her line of vision.
Gazing at his distinct facial features, Skylar grew rooted to the ground. She was stunned that Tobias
had caught her in the act.
Skylar looked up to the sky and lifted the corners of her lips into a bright smile. “It just so happens that
I'm here.”
She randomly gave an excuse that even she could not believe. Tobias saw through her at once and
said, “I was afraid I'd disturb you from resting since it was late. So I didn't go back.”
Meanwhile, Pete could not help but take a few more glances at Skylar. It was at that point he finally
understood why Tobias was unmoved no matter how many signals the lady from last night sent.
The lady before his eyes was young, beautiful, and had such a supple and delicate complexion it
almost looked like water could come flowing out with a gentle squeeze. Even the breathtaking florals in
the yard could not compare to Skylar's appearance. It was no wonder most men would want her after
seeing her.
