BEN'S POV

I had never seen a girl so beautiful until I met Anita. She checked all the boxes of the checklist that I have ever wanted in a woman.

Not only was she beautiful, but she had a big heart too. I knew that her kind of beauty would soon be noticeable to everyone and that is why I decided to shoot my shot at her. Of course she rejected me but that was not enough to make me want to give up. I was going to keep on trying until she decided to be mine.

I had not seen her for a while hence I decided to go check on her in her room. I was giving her time to miss me and want to reach out to me but she never reached out. I guess I will be the one doing most of the reaching out since I wanted to

I went to the school canteen and bought a chocolate bar before heading to her room. I knocked on her door gently and hoped that she was going to get it for me.

She took a while to open the door but she eventually did.

Seeing me gracing the doorway did not make her happy. I could see her smile fading.

"Were you expecting someone else?" I had to ask her. I needed to understand why she was not happy to see me.

"No, of course not," She said and gestured to me to get in.

"Thank you, for letting him in," I said as I sat at the empty chair beside her bed. She proceeded to sit on her bed and waited for me to disclose what I wanted to disclose with her.

The nerves, damn, I have never been on the spot. Her eyes pierced through me, making me lose all the confidence that I had carried with me.

"What brings you here?" She asked because I had remained silent.

"I am here to give you company. I really want to hang out with you, I have missed you so much," I told her.

"I don't think that now is the right time for that," She said and I could feel my heart become heavy in my chest.

I felt rejected. I couldn't help but wonder, what was it about me that she did not like? She did not even think through her answer. She was sure that she wanted nothing to do with me. What had I done to be treated like this by her. We were friends, friends don't reject each other like this.

She shook her head in disagreement as she played with her fingers. She seemed to be lost in thoughts, probably thinking of a nice way to tell me to get the fuck out of her room.

"What do you take me for, Ben?" She asked with a sharp voice and I could feel adrenaline being released at the bottom of my belly. This is not going to end up well. What did I do to her? I wish that I had a clue which was actually going to help me to defend myself.

"What are you talking about?" After a brief moment of thinking what this could be all about, nothing came to mind, I therefore asked her to be honest with me and tell me the truth on what had been bugging her. What is it that I said that made her feel a type of way about me?

"Why did you lie to me?" She asked once again, giving me a chance to explain myself but still I could not understand what she was actually talking about.

"Anita darling, you really have to tell me what this is all about. I am not understanding you plus I cannot think of an instance when I lied to you," I told her.

"You lie so much to the extent that you cannot put up with your lies, huh?" She asked and I remained silent. She was really tearing me apart with her words and since I didn't know what she was talking about, I could not defend myself. "You lied about Alpha Robin's condition," She finally said it when I remained silent, unable to figure her out.

"No I didn't," I told her. From where I was standing, I knew that I had given her the right information.

"You did, the Alpha doesn't have the condition that you alleged him to have. He can pretty much fuck the girl that he desires," She said with so much conviction that I couldn't deny what she was saying even though I didn't believe her. "I am sure about what I told you," I repeated. I trusted my sources, they could never lie about such a thing.

"I know the Alpha fucks the women that he likes." She said and I could hear the pain in her voice.

"He is going to break your heart. I cannot believe you. How can you fall for a cold and arrogant man?" I asked. It didn't make any sense to me. I thought that she was different. Why was she becoming like every other girl in the school who had fallen for the Alpha yet he didn't have anything to offer at night.
