New friends
Lynn’s POV
I slumped onto the couch, wishing I’d let Alec come with me. My family and I had just got back from James’ funeral. James was my cousin, who’d lost his life in a car accident while driving home from work. It was a very tragic accident as he was so young and had graduated with a masters degree in Psychotherapy two months back. After many years of studying, he’d not lived long enough to enjoy the fruits of his hard work.
Alex had wanted to come with me but I had insisted that Alec shouldn’t go with me because I didn’t want my family asking questions and lecturing to her about how I needed to first focus on my education. And considering who Alec was, I was sure my family wouldn’t be excited about a union with him. Most people usually thought he was minutes away from cheating on me, something that bad boys were used to.
MY mother occupied the space next to me as my sisters, Dana and Mindy sat on the couch opposite ours. I wished Alec was there to hold my hand and tell me everything would be okay.
“I miss James already,” I said, tears welling up in my eyes. I rose and went to my bedroom. Sitting on the tall stool near the window, I looked at the flowers I planted with James and Dani in the backyard. It made me sadder and I decided to go back to my apartment. I couldn’t bear staying in a place where everything reminded me about James.
James had helped me pin the posters on my wall and I remembered the time when he’d sneaked in to my room to be with Julia who was my best friend at the time. He’d been so in love with Julia that he sometimes came even when I told him Julia and I had to study. After a year, Julia had gone back to her country as she’d been an exchange student. James had always complained about how much he missed her.
With one last glance, I picked up my cross bag and walked out of the room, feeling depressed. I wiped my eyes with the back of my hand, entering the living room.
“I’m leaving,” I told my mother and sisters.
“Why don’t you stay the night and go tomorrow?” My mother asked.
“I can’t do it,” I went towards my sisters who stood up and hugged me. I, then embraced my mother who encouraged me to stay strong.
“Bye guys,” I said and left.
An hour later, I was outside her apartment building. I wished my friends were still on good terms with me.
Kari and Jen had been my best friends but they’d broken up when I chose to be with Alec. I was still angry at them for putting me in a position where I had to choose between my boyfriend and best friends. I missed them but I wasn’t ready to invite the drama back into my life.
I was just entering the building when I saw two girls getting out. One of them was a tall brunette with straight hair. The other was petite and her black hair was curly.
“Hey,” The tall girl stopped in front of me. “I’m Jessie. I’ve been seeing around. Can we be friends?”
I noticed the difference between me and Jessie but I needed a friend. I was so desperate for a friend that I didn’t even think twice. Why would two hot girls want to be my friend out of nowhere?
“Okay,” I smiled. “I’m Lynn. Lynn Harris.”
“I was just going out with my roommate,” Jessie pointed at the girl who’d gone further. “Guess I’ll say you later. I’m in 10B.”
“Alright,” I said. Frowning, I went up the stairs, feeling warm at the prospect of seeing Alec again. Ever since we started dating, we hadn’t spent that much time apart.
I spent a few minutes at the landing, trying to regain my breath. Breathing so hard from the short climb made me realize how unfit I was beginning. Dating Alec had made my life so much easier. It made me lazy and that would not be good in the long run.
I had to create some boundaries. We lived together, like a married couple. Chris had said it wasn’t a good idea, since I was skipping a stage where I should be alone. I had dismissed it as jealous at first but was beginning to think about his words. Sometimes, I felt a bit suffocated although I loved Alec very much.
After some minutes, I went and opened the door.
“Is that you, sweetheart?” Alec called out from his bedroom. Smiling, I locked the door and headed to his bedroom.
“No,” I said, opening the door. Alec pulled me inside.
Before the door clicked shut behind us, he and I were already tearing at each other’s clothes. We fell onto the couch in a tangled heap, our lips locked in a passionate kiss. I finally felt alive after having a very stressful and sad day.
My hands roamed over Alec’s chest, pulling at his shirt until it was off and discarded on the floor. His hands did the same to mine, tugging at the hem of my dress until it was bunched around my waist. My heart was beating fast and my whole body felt electrified.NôvelDrama.Org: text © owner.
Breathless, we paused for a moment to take in the sight of our naked bodies. My eyes roamed hungrily over Alec’s lean muscled chest and abs, heat spreading across my cheeks. He looked back at me, a hint of a smile playing at the corners of his lips. He had never looked so damn good.
Without saying anything, we both know it was time to get down to it. I straddled Alec’s hips, leaning down to capture his plump lips in a deep, ravenous kiss. He responded eagerly, his hands roaming over my back and buttocks as I grinded my hips against him.
As our passion grew, we rolled over so that Alec was on top, his body pressed against mine as we moved together in a frenzied dance of pleasure. I could feel my insides burning and threatening to explode. When he started to move faster, every feeling multiplied.
We come together in a climax of sweet sensations, he collapsed on top of me as my hands lazily lay on his back. I could never get enough of the man. Thinking that I was always going to have him by my side, I smiled. I thought we had all the time in the world to enjoy ourselves but i was completely wrong.
