Chapter 11
Chapter 11
The red wine trickled down from Olivia’s long hair as she screamed in disbelief. However, Jessica did
not intend to stop there and grabbed Olivia’s wrist. Yet when Jessica was about to make a move, Lucas
suddenly grabbed her hand.
“That’s enough, Jessica!”
“I don’t think so.” Jessica sneered and tore off Olivia‘s bracelet. She threw a check in Olivia’s face and
said, “It’s just a 100,000-dollar bracelet. Here it is 200,000 dollars. You can get two.”
With that, Jessica left with Hannah. When Olivia finally came back to her senses, she nearly blew up.
Olivia wanted to catch up with Jessica, but Lucas stopped her.
“Haven’t you had enough?” Lucas said coldly
Jessica seemed to be wearing the earrings from the Moon and the Sun‘ series,” said a guest.
“So she did. Her bracelet and her earrings come in a set. The series is limited. Each set is worth no
less than 3 million dollars.”
After that many people looked over at Jessica Soon, another guest said, “Jessica seems to be wearing
Tomie’s design. The dress must be bespoke. That costs at least 300,000 dollars.”
“That’s interesting. The total value of Miss Hall‘s outfit is no less than 5 million dollars, but Miss Thomas
accused Miss Hall of stealing her bracelet.”
The guests kept gossiping. Olivia had thought about defending herself, but when she heard their
disdainful comments, she felt too ashamed to speak up.
With her teeth gritted, Olivia looked in the direction Jessica had left.
The Thomas family had always been renowned in Los Angeles. But Olivia, the daughter of the Thomas
family, lost all her dignity today
Olivia ran to the lounge, crying all the way along.
Jessica left the banquet hall and called her driver. She then headed for the bathroom.
Jessica touched up her makeup and walked out. She was a little absent–minded when she thought of
what had just happened.
“What are you thinking about? You can’t regret drenching Olivia with the wine, right?” Hannah couldn’t
help but ask when she saw Jessica in a daze.
“I regret giving her the money,” said Jessica after she came back to her senses. “I’m not hard up, but
my money doesn’t grow on trees.”
As they were talking, a man suddenly chimed in coldly, “You can have your money back, but you have
to apologize to Olivia.”
Lucas spoke as he handed Jessica her check.
Jessica took the check over and put it away. She looked up at Lucas and smiled. “Thank you, but I
won’t apologize. I know Olivia too well. She will take revenge on me sooner or later. I’m looking forward
to that.”
“You’re such an ungrateful woman!” Seeing Jessica not taking his reminder seriously, Lucas somehow
felt annoyed. He then went back to the banquet hall.
If it weren’t for their three-year marriage, Lucas wouldn’t have come over to give her the kind reminder.
Lucas
believed that Jessica would later turn to him for help.
The banquet was over, yet what happened at the banquet was spread over Twitter:
After all, Jessica was once involved in the falling–into–water
incident at the Thomas villa. The influencers sensed a chance to gain fame, so they all hurriedly
retweeted the posts and left comments.
That offended Olivia.
Twitter was full of harsh comments on Olivia. People accused her of being stupid and unreasonable.
Olivia read the comments and then cried hard.
The more
Olivia thought about it, the angrier she got. Suddenly, Olivia recalled something and then called Lia.
Jessica didn’t learn about what Olivia had done until her meeting was over.
Jessica couldn‘t help but laugh as Hannah told her about it. It turned out that Olivia made up some
news about Jessica and posted it online.
“From time to time, I couldn‘t help wondering if Olivia is really Lucas‘ sister. There‘s a huge gap betwee ConTEent bel0ngs to Nôv(e)lD/rama(.)Org .
n their IQs.”
Jessica hung up the phone. Then, there was a knock on her door. Jessica responded, “Please come
in.”
Wendy
walked in with some documents in her arms. “Miss Hall, just now, Mr. Bell‘s secretary said that Mr. Bell
won‘t be going to the dinner with the Borka Group tonight. He wants you to be there on his behalf.”
“Who will attend the dinner for the Borka Group?” Jessica asked.
“Watson.”
The Hall Group and the Borka Group had been working together all the time. But the contract was
about to expire. The Borka Group would like to talk about the renewal tonight.
Jessica knew that Megan and Watson got along. If Megan attended the dinner tonight, they could
probably sign the contract tomorrow. But for some reason, Megan asked Jessica to attend the dinner
instead.
Jessica wondered what tricks Megan and Watson were playing.
