“What did you say?” she asked since she heard him saying something but sadly he wasn’t loud enough.

“Nah! Nothing” Jaxton said.

“Go on” he urged her to go on he still wasn’t satisfied with the apology from her end.

Or maybe he just wanted her to keep talking as he loved hearing her voice.

As she continued talking he wanted to interject but she wouldn’t give him the chance to.

And then well her phone just had to choose the worse of all times to begin ringing.

“Excuse Babe” she apologized as she took the call.

“Right now?” she said into the phone giving him the side eye as if she was scared of what had been said on the phone.

“Okay, I would get done with what I am doing right away so I can show up” she finally said.

“What’s up?” Jaxton asked her looking at her skeptically.

Sydney looked at him with a side eye as if she was scared.

“If it is work related you can go we can always have another time” he said but Sydney was not satisfied that he was saying such to her, she knew Jaxton, he was super petty and if he had the choice or chance to hold this over her head he was going to do so.

“Will this al be sorted out babe?” she asked as she carried her bag to leave.

“Of course there is nothing for us to keep holding anger unto right? Go attend to work we would have this date again” he said and she bent and gave him a kiss on the cheek.

“Thank you babe, I’ll call you later and please pick-up” she said as she made for the door and he watched her curvy figure go through the door and she smiled with the door man, maybe a little too much for Jaxton’s liking but there was absolutely no need to make things go out of proportion.

When Sydney got back to work, the prospective client was seated and as she entered she apologized.

“No need to be sorry sexy lady” the client said and she decided to play it off because he was being cocky and somewhat making her uncomfortable because he was trying to flirt with her.

“Mr. Zhang, can we focus on the papers rather than the lady?” Paxton said in an irritated tone and Sydney gave him a silent ‘thank you’ with her eyes.

“Oh pardon me, I just couldn’t get my eyes off your beautiful colleague” he explained but Paxton’s eyes where not joking as he shoved the document before Mr. Zhang and he read and signed the document.

“It was nice doing business with you” Paxton said as he rose from the seat and extended his hand to Mr. Zhang.

He kind of stayed for long on Sydney’s hands and she had to pull it off and he kind of winked to her.

“Pervert” Sydney said slowly and Paxton only laughed.

“I am starving” Sydney exclaimed after their client left and she dug into the snacks which had been brought by the company chef.

She choked due to keeping a lot of food into her mouth and trying to talk at the same time.

“You shouldn’t eat and talk at the same time you know” Paton said.

“I am sorry, I just wanted to explain the taste of the food” she said and downed even more water.

“Oh I see” Paxton responded and instead of digging into the food he was looking intently at her, she looked up and noticed he was looking at her.

“What? Is something on my face or lip?” she asked.

“No nothing is on your face” he responded and then went to take a sandwich from the desk.

“I will have to go now, it’s kind of getting late and I have to see your brother” she said and got up holding a sandwich in hand and rushing out of the building.

“Wait Sydney I will drop you off” He called but she stood and thought of the possibility of having Jaxton see them together with him having the thoughts he had been having for the past days.

“No Paxton I came with my car and I don’t think it would advisable if Jaxton saw us together” she said and then gave him a small smile before she left and went towards her car at the parking lot.

As she was going towards her car she saw Jaxton at his car watching her and he beckoned on her and she walked towards she was sure she was not guilty of being seen with Paxton but she felt guilty for standing him up on so many occasions because of work.

“Hey babe, what are you still doing here I thought you would have gone home already” she said giving him a kiss on his cheek.

“I came down to wait and to pick my woman from work is that a bad thing?” he asked while opening the car door for her.

“What about my car?” she asked him.

“Well I would have someone bring it home for you” he said as he kissed her on the lips.

While doing all of these, Jaxton had seen Paxton watching form the side of his car mirror and he was subtly trying to pass across a message to him stating Sydney was his woman.

“What an asshole” Paxton exclaimed in his car as he watched the exchange of saliva and numerous hugs.

Tonight was going to be super long for him he thought.
