Back in Time: Unshackling From Love (Mikayla Davidson)

Chapter 295

Chapter 295

Mikayla arrived at Mochuria’s airport around ten hours later.

Mike should have received the news from Wanda. When she walked out with her suitcase, he was there

waiting for her. Property © NôvelDrama.Org.

“Welcome here, Mrs. Miller.”

He said politely, “Mr. Miller isn’t feeling well and resting in the hotel. I was worried there was a change in your schedule, so I didn’t inform him you would be coming over.”

What schedule changes? He was just worried that she’d change her mind and not come.

Mikayla asked, “How is Jerome? Has he seen a doctor?”

“He has a little fever and cough. He’s taken some medicine, but he hasn’t seen a doctor.”

Mike said, “The main reason is that the weather here is cold, and Mr. Miller wore less clothes. When he got a cold, he didn’t rest and continued to work. Plus, he didn’t have a good meal, which is why it became

so serious.”

She couldn’t help but complain in her heart. Jerome was indeed a perfect model worker. He kept working even though he knew he wasn’t feeling good.

“Mr. Miller didn’t listen to me and refused to see a doctor. I was worried that his body wouldn’t be able to hold on. I had no choice but to call Mrs. Miller Senior,” Mike explained.

Mikayla smiled but said nothing. He knew that she and Jerome were divorcing. It would be inappropriate for him to ask for her help directly, so he approached Wanda.

Wanda, who felt sorry for her grandson, would naturally come to her. He was indeed Jerome’s right–hand man, capable of considering all aspects.

When the driver came to a halt in front of stem, Mike helped Mikayla load her small suitcase in the trunk.

while he sat in the passenger seat.

On the way, he took several work calls. It was most likely due to Jerome’s illness, which forced him to

take on some tasks.

At this moment, Mikayla finally understood his actions. He had to work while taking care of his troublesome boss. Taking on two roles at once proved tough for him.

Dozens of minutes later, they arrived at the hotel where Jerome was staying. Mike helped her carry her

suitcase, and they boarded the elevator together.

Opening Jerome’s door, he motioned for Mikayla to go in first. “Do go in, Mrs. Miller.”

She went inside. It was a business suite. Outside were couches and desks for guests, while inside was

the bedroom.

“Mr. Miller may have taken medicine and fallen asleep,” Mike said.

Due to the time difference, Mikayla set off during the day. It was still daytime when she got here.

Since Jerome was resting, she didn’t walk in Immediately.

“Mrs. Miller, are you hungry after such a long flight? Would you like me to order some food for you?” Mike

asked.

Mikayla shook her head. “Go ahead with your own business. I can take care of myself.”

He did have a lot of work to do, so he left the room without changing her mind.

She then washed herself. When she returned to the living room, Jerome happened to come out of the

bedroom.

He was in a crumpled shirt. She wondered if he hadn’t changed it last night or if he had simply slept in it. He frowned slightly and had dry lips. His attractive features appeared a little haggard.

He lost the usual alienation of being aloof and powerful and became more like an ordinary man.

When Jerome spotted Mikayla, his eyes brightened up.

“Why are you here?” He spoke with a hoarse voice and coughed.

She answered him truthfully, “Grandma was worried that no one would take care of you when you were ill, so she asked me to come over and see you. I’ve also come to you to sign the divorce agreement.”

His expression turned cold. “Mikayla, the latter must be your main goal to come here!”

She stared at him indifferently with her gorgeous eyes. “You can think so.

Jerome choked on his breath and coughed violently while leaning against the doorframe for support.
