Alpha Loren

Chapter 12 The Envelope

Chapter 12 The Envelope

October 12th

I woke later that night. The earlier storm had passed leaving the moon beaming in through the undrawn

curtains. All I could hear was the gentle breathing of the still sleeping Leo, who lay with his arm gently

wrapped around my waist. His lips were slightly parted and the light of the moon lit up his face

revealing his beautiful features. He looked pure and innocent, the complete contrast to earlier that

night. I lay gazing at him for a few minutes, yearning for him to be this kind and gentle when he was

awake.

But only in the innocence of sleep, when his mind drifted unconsciously through dreams, could he be

like this.

When he was awake, he destroyed lives. Thousands of them.

And he was stubborn to change. But like I told Rosa, when I see wrong, I fight it until its right. It was a

challenge but I felt it was my duty. I was the only person that stood a chance of putting his evil to an

end and that placed a heavy burden on my shoulders.

But for now, I'd let him sleep. The room was peaceful and I let myself lie awake just thinking for a while.

But the more I thought about it, the more I couldn't bear to look at him.

I turned my head to the wall and floor instead, trying to ignore his hand which still rested on my waist.

That was when I noticed a glint of gold from his jeans that were draped over the chair in the corner of

the room

The key to the nightstand drawer. Where Logan's envelope was kept.

I took a deep breath and slipped out of his arms and crept over praying that there weren't any creaky

floorboards. I reached the key without a sound but then my dumb ass dropped the it and it landed with

a light chime on the floor.

Leo began to stir and I quickly grabbed the key and shoved it in my pocket.

"What are you doing?" I heard him grumble in a tired voice, slightly muffled by a pillow.

"ummm...well..." I stuttered,

He sat up slightly looked at me and rolled his eyes, "Actually I don't care. It's the middle of the night, go Content © NôvelDrama.Org.

to sleep."

I nodded and lay back down next to him with key still in my pocket.

Not a total fail I suppose.

When I woke the second time around, the moon had been swapped with the blazing sun and the

silence had been interrupted by twittering birds.

As I opened my eyes, Leo's face came into focus. His hands were on my shoulders and by the looks of

things he had been shaking me awake.

"Get up. I'm taking you out today," He said.

"What time is it?" I groaned.

"It's 7:30 am," he answered.

"Why so early? I don't do mornings," I grumbled snuggling further into the soft duvet covers.

"You don't say," he replied before I heard the shower turn on. I lay in the bed for a few minutes before I

decided it was time to get up. I swung my feet around and I looked down at the floor rubbing my eyes.

As I finished yawning and stretching, I noticed there was another set of clothes at the end of the bed.

I changed and was just about to start rooting around for the hairbrush when I saw the nightstand

drawer again. I quickly unlocked it with the stolen key and shoved the envelope into my jeans pocket

just before I heard the shower turn off and Leo walked out the bathroom.

My eyes widened when I saw him yet again standing in just a towel dangerously close to slipping off.

He laughed at my embarrassment as I turned to face away from him. My wolf wanted me to turn

around and take another look at his gorgeous abs but no. No. Absolutely not.

"Are you still on hunger strike or are you gonna eat this morning?" he asked me as he opened his

drawer.

My stomach felt like a bottomless chasm as it practically digested itself.

"I'm going to eat," I said.

"Good," he replied, "Go downstairs. There's pancakes in this fridge. I'll be there in a moment."

I hurried down the stairs and slipped into the corner in the kitchen. I got the letter out my pocket and

tore open the golden envelope. Inside was a white piece of paper with golden fancy writing on it. It

read:

Dear Ella Jones,

As you may know, I, Logan Wilson, am turning 17 on Monday 13th October. This means I shall inherit

the role of Alpha from my father and therefore obtain full charge of the pack, Including who lives in pack

territory. And that is what brings me to you. It is to my deepest regret to inform you that, unlike my

father, I take no pity upon rogues and will not have any living on my land. However, I am willing to allow

you and your brother to stay under one condition- you become my wife and Luna. Connor will also join

the pack. The marriage ceremony will take place on Wednesday the 15th October and if you chose not

to accept my offer you and your brother have no right to live or walk upon Cerridwen pack land as of

Tuesday 14th October. If you do, I will kill you both.

Best wishes,

Soon to be Alpha Logan Wilson

I stood still staring at the paper, unable to believe what I had just read. I could almost see the smirk on

his face through the paper.

Best wishes? Soon to be Alpha?

What an arrogant asshole.

This is just his next attempt to make my life a living misery. But this wasn't even an option I could

consider anymore. Not with Leo.

So what would happen to Connor? He can't afford to move house and he needs to stay at Kellington

High to graduate this year.

Logan is a dick and incredibly unreasonable but if I explained the situation to him, maybe he'd change

his mind? If he knew who my mate was?

I heard footsteps come down the stairs and I only had time to shove it back in my pocket before Leo

came into the room.

"Are you not having breakfast?" He asked examining me suspiciously.

"Um-hm," I said with a nod and smile as innocent as possible.

"What were you doing?" he asked.

"Thinking," I said quickly, "I was thinking about why you keep pancakes in the fridge."

His eyes finally shifted away and I breathed a sigh of relief as he headed towards the fridge to find the

pancakes.

Telling him about the contents of this letter would start a war...literally. Leonardo Loren wasn't averse to

attacking pack for no reason. I dread to think what he would do to Cerridwen for this.

I then found some plates and syrup before we sat in silence eating. Every now and then he still looked

up at me and eyed me to which I had to keep responding with a forced smile.

But for the most part, he seemed too interested by eating the pancakes. He was a huge man with a lot

of muscle but no size could explain how much he eats. His stomach was lean and his abs defined, not

an ounce of fat in sight. Where all these calories went really was a mystery to me.

"So where are we going today?" I asked.

"The mall. You can't wear the clothes I stole from my sisters and my boxers for the rest of your life," he

said.

I nodded, "But I have clothes at home."

He looked up at me, "Anything you want I can have one of my men go and retrieve but I want to treat

you to some new things, Ella. I know you haven't had money to spend on yourself for a long time."

I couldn't help but smile, "Okay."

He smiled back for a brief moment before his face completely straightened again.

"But if any boy comes anywhere near you or even looks at you the wrong way I swear to God I will

slowly and painfully rip every single one of their organs out whilst they and their families watch."

"You really are charming," I muttered.
