After the Divorce: From Heartbreak to Heiress Boss

Chapter 71

Chapter 71 Making a Fool of Herself

He chuckled, "How can I be sure about that? When the right time comes, and I find the right person, you'll be the first to know."

She replied, "Alright, I'll be waiting then."

Leah then followed Ethan to the center of the hall.

She glanced over to the buffet area and spotted plenty of delicious food. She couldn't help but feel a bit peckish.

Leah said, "Ethan, I want to go over there and grab something to eat."

"You little foodie," Ethan affectionately teased as he brushed her nose, "Let's go together then."

Looking around, Leah noticed quite a few people holding wine glasses, seemingly wanting to approach Ethan to initiate a conversation. She furrowed her delicate brows and whispered, "Ethan, it seems many people want to chat with you. Are you sure it's okay to accompany me to eat?"

Ethan glanced sideways at them briefly before quickly turning his gaze back at her.

"It's fine. They're just some unimportant folks," he reassured her.

Leah smiled gratefully, "Ethan, you're the best."

Leah then led Ethan to the buffet area and tried several delicious dishes. She contentedly narrowed her eyes and commented, "The food tastes so good. Is this the chef your company hired? We should go to the restaurant where the chef works to try his other dishes."

"If you like it, I can invite him to the house someday to cook specifically for you until you've had your fill," he offered.

Ethan selected a few dishes, put them on his plate, and handed them to Leah. "I've tried these, and they taste pretty good. Here, try them."

Taking the plate from him, Leah tasted each dish and exclaimed, "Wow, Ethan, the ones you picked for me taste even better! Hurry, pick a few more for me. I want to eat more."

"Alright, I'll pick some for you now," Ethan said as he lowered his head and carefully made his selections.

Leah also leaned over to see the buffet options, a subtle smile gracing her lips.

This should have been a heartwarming scene, but to Rachel, it appeared utterly distasteful.

Her grip on her wine glass tightened to the point her knuckles turned white, and her expression darkened considerably.

Heather and her other close friend noticed Rachel's state and quickly approached to comfort Rachel.

"Rachel, are you okay? Just stay calm, okay?"

The other friend chimed in. "Yeah, take a deep breath. Let's think of a way to handle this."

Rachel gritted her teeth, her eyes ablaze with anger as if she wanted to tear Leah, who was not far away, into a million pieces. "Stay calm? The man I've liked for so long is being taken by some little wretch that came out of nowhere. How do you expect me to calm down? I wish I could go over there now, rip her apart, and make her disappear forever. Otherwise, I'll never ease this burning hatred in my heart."

Heather was somewhat taken aback by the hatred emanating from Rachel's expression. She glanced to the side and noticed that Ethan had already left Leah's side to chat with others. Heather quickly tugged Rachel's arm and suggested, "Rachel, look. Mr. Ethan Wilson isn't

with her right now. Maybe you should take this opportunity to go over there and give her a little warning, make her know her place, and not steal your man."

Rachel did consider doing that, but seeing that Ethan wasn't too far and could return to Leah anytime, she shook her head. "It's not the right time yet. Let's wait a bit longer."

"Okay..." Heather replied, glancing in

that direction once more. She saw something that startled her and couldn't help but exclaim, "Rachel,
