After Divorcing my Captain Husband (Chloe and Michael)

Divorcing 516

Chapter 516 He Came

She didn't dare to risk Chloe's life.

Candy thought, "If William really has it out for Chloe, at least having Michael around might save her. Whether Chloe will scold me later? I don't care."

After receiving Candy's call, Michael immediately instructed Ethan to purchase the movie tickets.

"Mr. Shawn, it seems like this showing is sold out."

Who would have thought that a re-release movie would be a full house?

Michael shot him a cold glance. "Then figure something out!"

"How about the next showing?" Ethan suggested, unaware of Michael's intentions for booking the tickets and assuming he simply wanted to watch the movie. Michael's eyes shot daggers at him, leaving Ethan feeling utterly clueless.

Ethan proposed timidly, scratching his head, "Or, how about buying tickets from someone outside the cinema?

"People will accept it if you buy with extra cost, right?"

Then, Michael grabbed his coat and headed straight to the cinema.

Twenty minutes flew by swiftly, and Chloe, holding onto her nearly untouched lemon water, entered the cinema with William.

As they settled into their seats, she couldn't help but feel nervous, instinctively placing a hand on her baby bump.

"Feeling cold? Shall I ask the staff for a thin blanket? This cinema's air conditioning is always on point," William said, still as caring as ever.

If she hadn't seen him push her earlier on the surveillance footage, Chloe would never have believed that someone as chivalrous as him could have such sinister intentions.

To avoid him running into Candy outside, Chloe shook her head. "No need, I'm not that cold."

After a few advertisements, the movie officially began, and the lights dimmed.

Soon after, Candy and her group, sporting baseball caps, snuck in sneakily and took their seats in the back row.

However, Chloe found it strange, thinking, "Wasn't this movie almost sold out? Why are there so many empty seats in the front?"

As the movie continued, many front-row seats remained unoccupied.

"Could this movie have bought out tickets in advance?" Chloe murmured.

William overheard and replied, "It's a re-release, and it's a classic. They shouldn't need to buy out tickets."

Although Chloe found the

explanation plausible, the emptiness

in the front row only added to her nerves since she had agreed to come due to the expected crowd.

Outside the cinema, Michael, wearing a baseball cap and a mask, stood at the entrance collecting movie tickets.

He offered to the moviegoers, "This

showing's mine. I'll pay a thousand bucks for your seat, and you can switch to another show.

"A thousand bucks...

"A thousand..."

He repeated the offer numerous times, each time receiving a ticket in exchange.

Except for the few viewers who had already entered, he intercepted everyone else.

Candy, Quinn, and Jessica sat

behind Chloe, with Jessica keeping a wary eye on William, fearing he

might suddenly pull out a knife.

Unable to bear it any longer, Candy tugged at her sleeve. "Stop staring so intensely. You'll get caught soon."NôvelDrama.Org © content.

Her gaze was like that of a stray dog spotting a fence it was hard not to be noticed.

Jessica sheepishly averted her gaze and leaned back in her plush seat. "Sorry, I'm inexperienced."

She was more than just inexperienced; she was even more nervous than Chloe in front of her.

At that moment, they saw another person entering the stairwell and confidently taking a seat next to them. This person was none other than Michael.
