After Divorcing my Captain Husband (Chloe and Michael)

Chapter 660

Chapter 660 HIV

Michael walked over and saw Chloe standing dazed by the restroom door. He called out, "Chloe, are you okay?"

Chloe snapped back to reality, her eyes wide with fear as she looked at Michael.

The next second, she spun around and rushed back into the women's restroom. She pushed open the stall door next to hers, but it was empty.

She thought, "Where did she go? I have been standing outside the whole time. If someone had left, I would have seen it. But I had no idea what the woman looked like!"

In a panic, Chloe pushed open stall after stall, only to find them all empty.

She stood in the middle of the restroom, feeling utterly defeated.

By the time she stepped out of the restroom again, Michael's eyes were full of worry.

"Chloe, what happened? Don't scare me!"

The last time he'd seen her this shaken was when Wendy passed away.

Back then, he thought he had lost her. He couldn't bear to go through that again.© NôvelDrama.Org - All rights reserved.

Chloe stared at him, her eyes filling with tears. Soon, her tears streamed down her cheeks. "I... I think I might have HIV."

"What?!"

Michael looked at her in disbelief. He thought, "She has only gone to use the restroom. How could she suddenly have HIV?"

Chloe looked back at him and then burst into tears. After that, she headed straight for the supermarket exit.

Michael, filled with concern, followed closely behind her. "We can go to the hospital right now to get post-exposure prophylaxis. It's effective!"

They got into the car, and Michael didn't ask her any more questions. He quickly drove her to the nearest hospital.

The nurse who prescribed the medication gave Chloe a long, concerned look when she heard what she needed.

As soon as Chloe got the medication, she swallowed the pills, not even bothering with water.

She needed to take the medication for twenty-eight days. As she stared at the pills in her hand, her fingers trembled.

She realized she hadn't asked the doctor if the medication would affect her baby.

She collapsed onto a hospital chair, drenched in cold sweat.

Michael handed her some water and sat down beside her. "I asked the doctor Since you're still in the early stages of pregnancy, the medication shouldn't have a significant impact on the baby, so don't worry."

Hearing that it wouldn't affect the baby, Chloe couldn't hold back her fear and burst into tears.

She buried her face in her hands and said nothing.

She thought, "Twenty-eight days. Every single one of them would be a torment."

She couldn't understand how a simple trip to the supermarket could lead to something like this.

She thought, "Is it wrong to help someone? If I had known, I never would have handed that woman the napkin. I should have just walked away!" The more she thought about it, the more foolish she felt.

She couldn't fathom how she could have let herself be played like this.

"Chloe, can you tell me what happened? I'm here for you. We'll get through this together. It's going to be okay."

Chloe stammered through the story of what had happened in the restroom, then looked at Michael in terror. "What if I really am infected?"

Michael's throat tightened. He had never considered that possibility before.

"If you are, I'll be right there with you!"

His response was almost instinctive. The only thought in his mind was that if she was truly infected, she would be terrified. The least he could do was be by her side. At the very least, he wouldn't let her face it alone.

"You'll get infected too! Are you crazy?"

Chloe's voice was muffled. She

knew that, once this disease was contracted, if she didn't isolate herself from those around her, there was a high risk of infecting them as well.

Even sharing a meal carried significant risks.

"I can't just let you hide away by yourself."

Upon hearing his words, Chloe's tears began to flow uncontrollably again.

She had thought her life was just beginning anew, with a bright future ahead of her.

She felt it was so unfair that such a thing happened to her.
