Chapter 95 :Would It Kill Him to Compliment Her a Little Bit?
Daisy put on her clothes and immediately went out.
Wendy got out of the car and waved at her. “Daisy, over here.”
“Why are you here?” Daisy asked, panting as she ran up to Wendy.
“Let’s go up first.” Wendy turned around and knocked on the window. “Clare, I’ll go to the company myself tomorrow morning. Don’t worry about me.”
Sitting in the car, Clare could only see Wendy. Because it was dark, he couldn’t see what the people beside Wendy looked like. He smiled and nodded. “Okay.”
Daisy looked at the car speeding away and loosened her clenched fists. Her back was already drenched in sweat.
“Hey! Why are you in a daze?” Daisy came back to her sense after Wendy called out to her a few times.
Daisy knew that she had lost her composure, so she blushed and her heart beat even faster. She hurriedly said, “I’ll take you upstairs first. It’s a little cold at night.”
“Thanks.”
Daisy’s neighborhood was still the same as it was decades ago. She felt as if it would collapse at any time. If it weren’t for Mark Steed being hospitalized, she might have been able to live a brighter and more beautiful life.
“Hope you don’t mind. It’s a little messy at home.” Daisy opened the door and Wendy came in. There was a wet smell in the room. She smiled, walked to the sofa, and sat down. “Daisy, what’s the relationship between us? Why should I dislike you? By the way, how’s your job lately?”
Daisy poured a glass of water for Wendy, then sat next to her with a worried look on her face. “Anyway, it’s not bad. I didn’t learn it well at school, so designing jobs require ability. In addition, I’ve been working at the bar before, so you know…”
Wendy was a little worried. It had been a long time since they had graduated. Many people had already found jobs, but Daisy didn’t. She thought that it must be a problem at the bar.
“Why don’t you come to the Glory Group?”
“No, no, no, I… can’t enter the Glory Group.” Daisy immediately shook her head. Entering the Glory Group was equivalent to entering a fire pit. She still wanted to live a few more years.
Wendy said, “You don’t have to be a designer. How about considering other positions? I’ll keep an eye on them for you in the company. I’ll let you know if there’s anything suitable for you.”
Daisy didn’t want to dampen Wendy’s enthusiasm, so she agreed after thinking for a while. Anyway, it was up to her whether she went to or not.
“By the way, why are you looking for me so late at night?” As she spoke, Daisy noticed the wound on Wendy’s leg. She immediately frowned and asked, “What’s wrong with your leg?”
Wendy covered her wound subconsciously and shook her head. “I’m fine. I just felt too bored at home and wanted to come out for a walk.”
“It’s the middle of the night. Are you telling me that you’re here to relieve boredom?” Wendy was very anxious in the face of Daisy’s words. She sighed and said, “I’ve been very tired recently.”
“What’s wrong?”
Wendy knew that she couldn’t fool Daisy, so she explained.
“I’ve been arguing with Rex every day recently, so I’m not in a good mood either.”
“They said that pregnant women’s mood will be unstable. Have you ever gone to see a doctor? Many women have depression when they are pregnant. Wendy, you need to take care of yourself.”
Wendy smiled. “I won’t. I’m just in a bad mood. Didn’t I come to you to relieve myself?”
“Well, it’s fine as long as you don’t think it’s messy here. Have you eaten yet?”
“Yes, don’t worry about me, I’m a little sleepy,” Wendy said as she yawned.
Daisy helped her up and asked, “Can you take a shower like this?”
“No, I’m going to sleep.”
“Okay, let’s sleep in one bed together today.”
“Great.”
A year ago, Mark Steed fell from upstairs. His lower body was paralyzed and he stayed in the hospital every day. All the responsibilities were on Daisy alone. She had to go to a bar to sing for the sake of high medical expenses.
After turning off the lights, the two girls lay on the bed. Wendy sighed and asked, “Daisy, what are your plans for the future?”
“I don’t know. I only know that I want to make money. If it goes on like this, I can’t even afford to pay for my father’s medical expenses.”
Wendy’s heart tightened, and she grabbed Daisy’s hand. “It’s okay to make money, but don’t do that kind of work again.”
“Oh, don’t worry. I will find a decent job. As for you, don’t think too much and give birth to the child.”
“I’m afraid…”
“Great.”
“It’s nothing, go to sleep.” Wendy flipped over and did not want to say anything else. She hoped that she would be able to safely give birth.
The next day, Daisy sent Wendy downstairs, but both of them were stunned at the gate of the community.
Rex leaned against the Bentley and dressed neatly. Everyone in the community couldn’t help but talk about him.
Daisy nudged Wendy and winked at her. “Why don’t you hurry over?”
“Then I’ll go first. Take care of yourself.”
“Okay, got it.”
Wendy walked over slowly. Daisy looked at them and felt a little envious in her heart. If she hadn’t been breaking up with Clare, would they have gotten married now?Content © NôvelDrama.Org 2024.
“Get in the car,” Rex opened the door next to the front passenger seat and said.
Wendy did not even look at him. She directly opened the back door and sat in the back seat.
Seeing her reaction, Rex was very annoyed. He stood by the car door and didn’t move at all. He wanted to see who could last longer.
Wendy saw Rex’s taut profile through the car window. She pursed her lips, got out of the car, and obediently sat in the front passenger seat.
At this moment, Rex raised his eyebrows. “If only you had listened to me earlier.”
After that, he closed the door and got in.
“I’ll take you back to the Gavyn’s Villa today.”
“Back to the Gavyn’s Villa? Why?” Wendy asked.
Rex glanced at her and started the car. “The last time Dad wasn’t around, he didn’t see you. He said he wanted to see his daughter-in-law.”
“What’s there to see? I’m not that good-looking either,” Wendy muttered in a low voice.
Rex smiled. “Yeah, you know that you’re not good-looking, and you know your place.”
“You!” Wendy was so angry that her face had turned ashen. Why was he belittling her like this? Why couldn’t he praise her a little?
Servants had already been waiting outside the mansion. When they saw Rex’s car approaching from afar, they hurriedly lined up in two rows and got ready to welcome him.
Rex parked the car and held Wendy’s hand as she got out of the car.
“Young Master, Young Madam,” the servants greeted in unison.
Wendy couldn’t stand being called “young madam”. She twitched the corner of her mouth and was dragged into the room by Rex.
” ‘Young Madam’ is a little weird.”
Rex tilted his head and asked, “Then what do you want them to call you?”
Wendy thought for a moment, “How about…?”
For a moment, she also didn’t know what it should be called.
