Chapter 952: Harmony
“Grandpa missed you so much! Have you been eating well? You’ve lost weight! When we get home, Grandpa will have lots of delicious food made for you, okay?”
Benedict stroked Ayaan’s soft cheeks, feeling heartbroken.
Ranita stood by, feeling speechless. She had just held Ayaan and her arms were sore; he was clearly chubbier than before. How could Benedict think he had lost weight?
“Dad, he’s gained weight!” Ranita sighed. “Stop spoiling him!”
Since returning to Steland, Ayaan had indeed become chubbier. If this continued, he would turn into a little fatty!
“He’s not fat at all! Look at his little cheeks, there’s no meat on them!” Benedict glared at Ranita and firmly said, “Ayaan, don’t listen to your mom. You’re not fat at all!”
“You’re the cutest and smartest little baby!”
Ranita: …
She was utterly speechless. Weren’t they talking about weight? How did it turn into a praise session?
Just as Ranita was about to speak, her phone suddenly rang. It was Brown calling.
Brown hadn’t called her recently. Ranita had clearly told him she needed some time before returning.
The sudden call likely meant something urgent.
“What’s up?” Ranita stepped out of the hospital room and turned into a nearby corner with her phone.
“Ranita, I’m sorry for calling you out of the blue! I need your help with something…”
Brown had taken on a project from an Acomond businessman, planning to go to Okland in Sreah soon to discuss it. However, Maya, who was in charge of the project, had an accident and was now in the hospital.
Brown couldn’t find anyone else to handle it.
“Ranita, I’m really out of options! If possible, please go to Okland.”
“I’m very sorry.”
Ranita frowned and asked, “Is it absolutely necessary to go for this project? Can’t we hire someone externally…”Content © copyrighted by NôvelDrama.Org.
“No, the client insists it must be someone from our studio. They don’t trust anyone else.” After a pause, Brown added helplessly, “You know how difficult MG people can be.”
“Got it!” Ranita didn’t agree immediately but considered it and said, “I need to check the situation here. What’s the latest I can leave?”
“It’s closer for you to get to Okland from there. You can leave the morning after three days at the latest,” Brown said and then added, “Ranita, we’ve worked with MG on many projects. We can’t afford to lose their trust.”
MG was indeed a big project and not one to offend.
“I’ll try to arrange things here.”
“Thank you! By the way, how’s Elio? I haven’t seen him in ages; I miss him so much!” Brown mentioned Ayaan with a tone full of regret.
“Yeah right, you say that but never call him! I have to go now…”
Ranita hung up the phone and was thinking about how to bring this up with Brendon and Bowman’s Mansion when she turned around and bumped into a cleaner in a janitor’s uniform pushing a large cart.
“Bang!” The impact hurt a bit, but the cleaner didn’t say a word and just pushed the cart away.
Ranita frowned.
She had glanced at the cleaner briefly and found them somewhat familiar… but couldn’t recall where she had seen them before.
Ranita turned back into Benedict’s hospital room.
The room was unusually quiet. She frowned and called out, “Dad, Ayaan!”
No one answered.
Frightened, Ranita quickened her pace and pulled back the surrounding curtain, finding Benedict asleep with an IV drip.
Where was Ayaan?
