A Successful Career After Divorce

Chapter 293 Maintenance Worker

Ranita wanted to stop him, but Jedidiah insisted on going to her apartment and showing their mother her living environment. Ranita couldn’t refuse. In the car, she sent a message to Brendon but didn’t receive a reply. The hotel was close to her apartment, and they arrived in no time. Ranita was nervous that Jedidiah would see Brendon and beat him up.

“What’s taking so long?” Jedidiah asked, worried about getting his clothes dirty.

“Nothing!” Ranita gritted her teeth in frustration at Brendon for not being there when she needed him.

She opened the password lock and saw that everything was neatly arranged in the living room. While Jedidiah changed his shoes, he hurried inside.Nôvel(D)ra/ma.Org exclusive © material.

Was Brendon not home? She realized he was probably with Shannon!

Suddenly, she heard water running from the bathroom and jumped with fright! The bathroom door opened slightly from inside, revealing a glimpse of Brendon’s face, “Ranita? You’re back…”

“Shh!” Ranita immediately covered his mouth with her hand and slipped into the bathroom.

“Hmm?” Brendon raised an eyebrow as he placed his wet fingers on Ranita’s hand asking what happened?

Her cheeks turned bright red as she stared into his eyes.

The water flowed over the contours of his muscles, reflecting an enticing sheen.

“Sorry!” Ranita shivered, her heart pounding like a rollercoaster, a fiery warmth spreading from behind her ears to her neck and down her back. She quickly turned away.

But her mind was uncontrollably filled with the image she had just witnessed.

“What’s wrong?” Brendon whispered as they heard Jedidiah calling out, “Ranita? Who are you talking to?”

Brendon frowned darkly at her, “Who is it?”

“Ranita?” A knocking on the door interrupted them. Ranita gestured to Brendon and, without worrying about her embarrassment, hastily tossed the draped clothes on the rack to Brendon. “Put these on!”

The clothes carried a hint of alcohol.

Ranita frowned, but there was no time to dwell on it now. She cleared her throat. “It’s nothing! It’s… the property sent someone to fix the water pipes!”

“Fix the pipes?” Brendon, while putting on the clothes, glanced at Ranita and gritted his teeth. “Your so-called good brother did this?”

Ranita lowered her voice, “Shut up! You’re a repairman now! Put on your clothes and don’t come out!” Ranita opened the door and stood in the doorway. “Brother… it’s pretty messy inside, let’s go outside and sit!”

“Do you need any help?” Jedidiah wanted to take a look inside, but all he could see was a sleeve of a white shirt. It didn’t look like someone fixing pipes.

“No need! Brother… I’ll pour you some water!” Ranita pushed Jedidiah out. “It’s small here at home, you might not be used to it.”

“It’s cozy. I also live in an apartment abroad, so I think it’s nice!” Jedidiah paused before saying again, “Do you really not need my help? Finish quickly so we can leave first. Remember to change the password after the repairman leaves!”

“I know!” Ranita obediently nodded.

Just then, Brendon’s voice came from the bathroom, “Miss Bowman~ Can you help me get a flashlight?”

Ranita hurried over.

As soon as she closed the door behind her, Brendon pinned her against the sink with his hand on her waist and stared down at her, “Did you bring men home?”

Ranita slapped his hand away, “Brendon, if you don’t let go now, my brother might beat your teeth out!”
