Chapter 232 Heart Broken into Sand
Reporting to the police was not realistic. Ranita couldn’t pinpoint her location, and if she did report it, Turner would likely move her somewhere else.
So who should she call?
In a split second, Ranita sadly realized that the clearest phone number in her mind belonged to Brendon!
But he…
Ring ring ring!
“You bitch! What are you doing!” Turner noticed something was wrong and immediately yelled at her while rushing over. “Who are you calling?!”
Although locked up, Ranita’s body was more agile than Turner’s. She dodged a few times before finally dialing the number.
“Come help me quickly!” Turner shouted at the old woman who hurried over and tried to take the phone from Ranita’s hand.
The old woman looked thin but had great strength. She grabbed Ranita’s wrist, leaving several red marks on it.
“Girl, give me your phone quickly or you’ll be in trouble!” As soon as she finished speaking, the old woman pushed Ranita hard onto the ground. The phone flew out of her hand and hit the ground with a clatter before going black!

Turner kicked her again and spat, “Ranita, you bitch! Who did you call? Did you report us?”
“Beatrice, check it out!” Turner roared at Beatrice angrily.
Beatrice tapped on the broken phone timidly, “It seems like it’s broken! Don’t worry about anything happening because this phone is smashed.”
“They won’t find us here for sure.”
They didn’t even exchange any words during that short time so nothing should have happened.
Turner kicked Ranita again furiously, “If I catch you trying anything funny again I’ll make sure life is worse than death for you! And as punishment today and tomorrow we’ll starve your stomachs empty.”
The door slammed shut heavily.
Ranita struggled onto bed with difficulty while gasping for air with every breath.
Her body hurt badly but her heart hurt even more.
Did Brendon not care if she disappeared completely? Or was he just like what Turner said – happy that she was gone?
All of these days of being strong seemed to shatter into sand at this moment…
Shannon’s concert ended; media outlets were interviewing Shannon now. Her team had done well preparing everything so interviews went smoothly with good atmosphere around them.
“Brendon, Shannon did really well at today’s concert. These are my congratulations gifts for her. You can give them to her later, I’m a bit tired and need to go rest now,” Amiya handed him a velvet box and a bouquet of flowers.
Brendon frowned as he took them and replied with a curt “okay.”
After the media had left, Brendon gave the gifts to Shannon who immediately smiled sweetly at him. “Thank you so much, Brendon! You’re so kind to me!”
“This is from my mom. If you want to thank someone, thank her,” Brendon said coldly causing Shannon’s eyes to droop in disappointment.
“Brendon…” Holly pouted trying to diffuse the situation. “You’re such a typical guy! Don’t be such a buzzkill! Let’s take some pictures since Shannon looks so pretty today!”
Holly snapped some photos while Cindy also took advantage of the opportunity and took some pictures herself.
Soon enough, edited photos were circulating on the internet with only Shannon in them but she was clearly looking towards someone else with an alluring gaze that left people wondering.
Brendon remained offline throughout it all with an icy expression on his face.
“Brendon, are you worried about Ranita? I’m sorry… I shouldn’t have asked you here if it was going to waste your time,” Shannon tried comforting him by taking hold of his arm while giving him seductive glances full of allure.
