Chapter 128
Chapter 128
Steven replied, “I’m having lunch at a restaurant right now. Please send me the address of your orchard, Ms. Somner. I’ll head over and have a look later. We can even talk about business right away if I deem that your prices are appropriate.”
Lorraine agreed readily, “Of course!”
As they were still strangers, the phone call ended swiftly without much small talk.
Just as Lorraine put down her phone, her phone started ringing once again with another new contact. She picked up the call, and the smile on her face grew even brighter than before.
She picked up several calls over the course of their lunch.
Logan waited until the calls stopped and she could finally return to her meal in peace. “Found your new customers?”
“Yeah! Several fruit wholesalers just expressed their interest in my orchards, and they’ve arranged for a visit this afternoon. I guess all my effort promoting the orchards in the morning wasn’t a waste.”
Lorraine had assumed that the fruit wholesalers reached out to her because of her own efforts. She was completely unaware that her husband whom she married in a flash marriage had solved the problem for her behind the scenes.
After Logan relayed his orders to Stuart, Stuart immediately contacted all the major fruit wholesalers he regularly worked with and asked if they would like to cooperate with Mrs.
Moore.
While the fruit wholesalers had never heard about Logan getting married, they still believed Stuart due to his reputation as a loyal employee of the Moore family. He would not make rumors of a Mrs. Moore out of thin air.
The fruit wholesalers quickly assumed that Logan wanted to keep his marriage a secret. And since the request had come from the Moore family, they were all more than happy to cooperate with the new Mrs. Moore. This content is © NôvelDrama.Org.
They were also curious to learn about what kind of woman Lorraine was to be able to win the heart of the infamously cold Logan.
Stuart had also repeatedly instructed all the fruit wholesalers to never reveal Logan’s true identity to Lorraine.
None of them dared to refer to Lorraine as Mrs. Moore, lest they accidentally expose Logan’s identity.
“That’s great news! Like I said, the sun will always rise. I’m guessing the fruit wholesalers who left you in the lurch must be regretting their decisions now.”
Lorraine was in an extremely good mood as she replied, “I’ve learned that I should not just rely on just a few customers and that I need to diversify the sales of my fruits. That way, even if someone were to target me and cut off my customers again, I wouldn’t be in as terrible shape as I was just before.”
Logan agreed with her sentiment. He also operated in a similar fashion within the business world.
He would always keep a backup plan in order to ensure that he could still maintain control over his own fate instead of being fiddled around like a puppet by someone else.
Logan was also rather impressed by how quickly Lorraine had caught on.
Suddenly, an imaginary Lorraine from within his heart cursed out at him, “You’re shameless!”
Meanwhile, Lorraine became much more talkative thanks to her good mood. She decided to tell Logan about her run–in with Benjamin. “When I went to buy groceries, I met a man who mistook me for a woman he’s been looking for a very long time.”
Logan was visibly anxious as he asked, “He didn’t hurt you or anything, did he?”
“Nope. I’m quite skilled at defending myself, so don’t worry.”
Logan was left speechless even though he already knew that Lorraine was much stronger than the average woman.
Lorraine continued, “The man called me Carol, and he kept emphasizing that my figure and demeanor were extremely similar to a woman named Carol. But the man immediately loosened his grip on my hand the moment he got a closer look at my face.
“I guess I don’t really look like the person he was looking for.”
She then got up to start cleaning up the dinner table after seeing that Logan had already put down his cutlery.
Meanwhile, Logan was deep in thought as he pondered if the Carol that Lorraine just mentioned was the same Carol known as Thousand Faces.
He then asked, “Who was the man?”
