Chapter 2141 Not All the Wicked Live Long
Cindy added, "She might not be your fan, and people like her tend to be unpredictable. You never know
what her real intentions may be, so try to keep your distance from her and others like her. Make sure
you call security or the police if anything serious happens."
Upon hearing this, Ian chuckled and said, "Don't you worry. I'm a grown man, and I can take care of
myself without you nagging at me."
She thought about this and wondered if she was overreacting. Besides, even if there was any trouble
coming Ian's way, he still had the driver with him. The driver was built like a house of bricks, and she
was sure that he could easily resolve any conflict just by showing up at the scene.
She laughed and said, "Okay, fine. I'm completely reassured now. Just stay vigilant while you're there."
Ian paused on the other line. Then, he licked his lips as he began to say in a grave tone, "There's
something I need to tell you."
She hummed in response and closed the book she had been reading. "Come on, I'm all ears. You can
tell me anything as long as it's not a confession about how you cheated on me."
He sighed when he heard this and pointed out sardonically, "I do wonder what fuels your imagination
sometimes. No, I didn't cheat on you, and what I'm about to tell you is pretty serious."
Now that he had said this, Cindy straightened up in her seat, and a somber look passed over her face
as she pressed, "What is it? Is this about you or Aurora? Is it about us?"
There was a brief silence on his end. He wasn't really sure if there was any specific person to whom
the news was related, but after a while, he answered, "I got a call from Logan last night, and he told me
the police found Leah's body."
Cindy did not quite register his words at first. "Wait, what? A body? Whose body did you say it was?"
As it turned out, the news was just as shocking for her as it had been for Ian. If one of them told Aurora
about this, she would definitely be stunned too.
Ian hummed and replied, "You heard me right. The police found Leah's body, and it seems like she had
been dead for a couple of days when they found her. In fact, her body was beginning to rot already."
Cindy frowned deeply. "How is this possible, though? How did things suddenly turn out like this?"
She thought about how Leah had tried to make trouble for them during their engagement and how
Logan had promptly taken care of her afterward. That incident hadn't been too long ago, yet Leah was
discovered dead. What if the police think that Logan had an ulterior motive? Worse yet, what if Ian is
dragged into all this?
While Ian had nothing to do with this sudden twist of events whatsoever, he would still be affected by it
once word got out that the police were investigating the case.
On the other line, he sighed and explained, "I don't know how it happened either. Logan's wife got first-
hand news because of her line of work, and he only heard about this much later. He has no idea of the Content © copyrighted by NôvelDrama.Org.
details too, and the police are still looking into this."
Cindy pondered on this for a while and asked, "Have you told Sean about this yet? He would have
more information on this since he's in the same city." More importantly, the police would likely contact
him soon after discovering Leah's body. After all, Leah had tried to scam Sean out of his inheritance
and subsequently attempted suicide when her plan didn't work. As things were, the police might look
into her connections and deem him suspicious.
Meanwhile, Ian had not called Sean to ask him about this. He only got the news the night before, and
he had been so busy today that he hardly had time to call anyone, let alone his brother.
He wasn't sure if Sean was sleeping right now at this hour, and he made a mental note to give him a
call when it was appropriate to do so.
Cindy was finally getting over the initial shock, but she was still in a daze as she mused, "Who would've
thought that she would go this way? They all say that the wicked live long and the righteous die young,
and I honestly believed she might live a really long time."
