Chapter 3153
Chapter 3153
“That’s right. Don’t listen to her, Sonny. Don’t take your Granddad or your Grandmom’s words to heart either. If your Dad says bad things about your Mom and Dunc, don’t listen to him either. They’re all just jealous.”
“I know, Aunt Ser. They think I don’t know anything because I’m young, but I do.”
Sonny was well aware of who was truly good to him and who was not.
It was just that he was too young to express all of this clearly.
Serenity patted Sonny’s head.
She had to tell Liberty to limit Sonny’s contact with the Browns. This content provided by N(o)velDrama].[Org.
That family would never change.
She once saved Chelsea’s youngest son and thought that Chelsea would change because of it.
Before Liberty started dating Duncan, Chelsea did treat the Hunt sisters much better and even turned around to pick on Jessica instead.
Now, however, Chelsea had returned to her old habits.
Zachary put Sonny down when they got into the elevator.
Sonny held Serenity’s hand in one hand and Zachary’s in the other.
Though his parents were not with him, he was still very happy with Uncle Zak and Aunt Ser.
He did not feel neglected at all.
“How’s Austin? Did he get the job?” Serenity asked Zachary.
Zachary replied, “Not yet. He said that his second interview is tomorrow afternoon. The O’Connors are just hiring a chef, but they make such a fuss about it, as if they’re looking for a son-in-law.”
“Picky eaters will value their chefs more. They can afford it, anyway.” Serenity giggled. “Has Austin met Isabella yet? Did he sneak a picture? I only saw the video he sent of his dorm. I think it’s amazing that he gets a whole 750 square foot one-bedroom apartment all to himself.”
The O’Connors’ wealth was on clear display.
“Nope. Isabella’s the head of the family right now, so she’s busy.”
Serenity understood. Her husband was just as busy.
It was only after marrying her that he reduced his meetings and started coming home earlier to spend time with her.
When she just met him, he would come home past midnight every day.
Every second was money to him.
Not only did he have to manage the company, he had to check on his brothers and cousins from time to time.
Luckily, they were all very respectful of him.
It was worth it for Zachary to work himself to the bones for such great brothers.
“That dorm is huge for ordinary people, but Austin is used to living in a huge house.” Zachary left it at that. It was Austin’s problem whether or not he got used to it.
Since Austin had chosen to be the O’Connors’ private chef, he would have mentally prepared for it. After all, he was there to work, not to be a pampered young master.
“He’ll get used to it,” Zachary added after a moment of silence.
Grandma May had even left them on a deserted island to fend for themselves before. They could survive even in the worst circumstances.
Living as the O’Connors’ chef was much better than living on a deserted island.
Setting Austin aside, even he could get used to it in two days.
Their nana often said that good days did not last forever. No one could guarantee that the Yorks were going to stay wealthy forever.
What if, in a stroke of bad luck, they lost everything in an economic downturn?
They went through the worst circumstances so they had the ability and determination to keep living even if the family went bankrupt. One could only hope to make a comeback if they lived.
Zachary understood why Grandma May had raised them like that after taking over the family business.
He was terrified that the company would fall to ruin under his management.
Fortunately, the company was currently thriving and making the Yorks more wealthy.
It probably would not go bankrupt under him.
As for the next generation…
Once his eldest son was born, and if the old lady was still in good health, he would hand the job of raising his son over to her. He trusted his nana would be able to raise his son well.
