Mission: From Divorcee to Millionaire

Chapter 141

Everett was oblivious, lost in the haze of his growing intoxication. His large hand gently turned her face towards him, his lips pressing insistently against hers, prying them open to taste her sweetness.

The warmth of the alcohol lingered between them. Selena, still groggy, opened her eyes, momentarily thinking she was in a dream. But when Everett's tall frame settled over her, her eyes flew open, sleepiness vanishing as reality hit. The moment she realized it was Everett, she felt a surge of anger. How dare he take advantage of her like this?

"Let... ugh... let me go!"

Her voice, strained and low, barely escaped her throat, but Everett paid no heed. Unable to push him away, she defiantly reached up, grabbing a fistful of his thick hair and tugging hard.

A sharp sensation shot across Everett's scalp, forcing him to lift his body slightly. In the dim light, his dark eyes were filled with a mix of desire and urgency, as if he might devour her at any moment.

Their lips glistened under the faint light.

Selena's breath came fast, her cheeks flushed, not just with anger but with helplessness. Despite her fury, she caught the strong scent of alcohol on him and knew he'd had too much. She couldn't match his strength. "Everett, when did you get back?"

"You've been drinking, haven't you? Move over, and I'll get you some milk to help sober you up."

She tried to steer the conversation away, hoping to distract him, but Everett was unwavering. His warm fingers traced her collarbone lightly, causing her to shiver. He leaned in close, their noses nearly touching, breaths mingling. His voice was a rough whisper, "I want you. Just give in..."

Selena's breathing quickened with anger. Throughout their marriage, he never valued her and only used her to satisfy his desires. Even with a divorce looming, he still disregarded her wishes.Content © NôvelDrama.Org.

Just as Everett leaned in for another kiss, he noticed the tears glistening at the corners of her eyes and hesitated.

In the past, during their more intense moments, he'd sometimes push too far, making Selena cry. She was always sensitive, but now...

He gently kissed away her tears, his voice soft yet bewildered. "I haven't even done anything. Why are you crying?"

Only then did Selena realize she was crying. She blinked and sniffed. It wasn't intentional-just the late-night emotions getting the best of her.

Embarrassed, she gave Everett a push. Surprisingly, he allowed himself to be pushed aside, falling onto the bed and lying next to her Her rejection stung a little, as he always preferred mutual passion to one-sided advances.

He turned to look at her, licking his lips, trying to find the right words.

Selena, however, wanted nothing more to do with him, turning her back and pulling the blanket up tight around her.

Everett felt a sting of frustration.

What wife consistently turned down her husband? Regardless of their future, they were still married, and wasn't it a wife's duty to meet her husband's needs?

And besides, she had been the one to stir things up first.

His hand reached for her shoulder again, ready to pull her back.

Selena gritted her teeth. "Everett, you promised yesterday you wouldn't touch me! Have you forgotten so quickly?" Everett's hand froze.

Staring at her cold, turned back, he wrestled with his thoughts before finally reining in his impulses. However, his desire was like a fire burning within, not easily quelled.

His voice, still husky, broke the silence. "Selena, I won't touch you, but you're the one who lit this fire. You have to put it out."
